H and I finally watched Thor: The Dark World this week.
And we think it takes the place of Iron Man 3 as the weakest Marvel film. Nothing seemed to happen, no great fight scenes, and I wanted more Loki and Darcy.
Thoughts? Want to argue?
Which one is the strongest? I’m leaning toward Winter Soldier but there are a lot of good ones and I have yet to see Endgame or Captain Marvel.

Weakest how?
In terms of bored me so much that I fell asleep both times I tried watching it - Captain America
The second Thor - I don't even remember the name and I couldn't tell you what happened. They called back to it in Endgame and neither MH or myself could remember anything that happened. So it obviously wasn't super impressive or important.

Well, there's The Hulk and Thor Dark World....oddly enough, both are worth watching in view of Endgame for me.
The Winter Soldier is my favorite movie to date - I gasped when I saw Robert Redford, among other moments.
First Avenger works for me and I think is a terrific origin movie. I can see it's probably not everyone's cup of tea. Interesting to think that back then I understand people really wondered if Chris Evans could make Captain America an interesting character, or was even a good actor for the role to begin with.
Endgame is probably going to be pretty high in my allover ratings - for all my headscratching and wishing that they could somehow have incorporated even more character interaction, I think all in all it was a very fitting ending to Phase 3 and a good farewell to so many of my favorite characters. I've only seen it twice, and I swear neither time felt like a 'long' movie to me.

I enjoyed Thor 2, I thought the visual of the dark elves was lame but I liked seeing another tidbit of Norse mythology.
For me, I liked iron man 3 the least. I thought the introduction of extremis was very wtf and where did that come from, and then to have it affect pepper so deeply, a main character in the iron man trilogy, you barely hear about it again. It was important for setting up AOU and Tony's mental state and his fears, so I can appreciate that.
I really can't think of a marvel film that didn't tie well into the overall story though. Even the ones I was just meh on, that was really a matter of personal preference (gotg).

Dark World and Iron man 3 are both not great. And the Ed Norton Hulk. Guardians 2 has its moments (the beginning, especially), but I don't love it like I love the first one.
Winter Soldier and Black Panther are my two favorites, Winter Soldier is just such an awesome Spy Thriller and has some great iconic moments, like the elevator fight that they call back to in Endgame. Black Panther is just such a gorgeous movie and the characters and story are great.

Well we all know I hate Civil War with the passion of a thousand burning suns but I dont even remember Iron Man 3 except for not liking it and we saw it in the drive in with How to Train your Dragon so I gotta go with that.

The Winter Soldier is my baby and I could watch it every day. It also fills my Romanogers shipper heart with joy. Im really disappointed the Russos never went anywhere with their obvious chemistry. The first Avengers movie is my second favorite.

Am I the only one who absolutely hates Iron Man 2?
I just get so irritated watching that movie. The only good part is that it introduces my boo Natasha.

I just watched Infinity Wars again. It hit me harder after seeing Endgame than even the first time around. And, damn, that end credit knowing what we now know.
I do think the whole series of movies, with their respective strengths and weaknesses, is truly a remarkable achievement.
I'm a Stucky partisan, although I do think Peggy Carter is a wonderful match for Steve. I think Natasha really did become a trusted confidant of Steve's, but I never saw more there than a wonderful, deep friendship. If anything, I'm sorry that in canon Hawkeye and Natasha were not more than the best of partners and friends - although I loved that Clint named his youngest for Natasha. I guess I did like that Natasha found a family in Clint's family, and I think did play into her decision at Vormir. She loves Clint's family as her own.

So random but I keep reading Vormir as Virmire which is a planet in Mass Effect where you have to choose one of two members of your squad to sacrifice. And its both of your human squad members you have to choose from.

No, I haven't been much on Instagram before seeing this but apparently that's someplace I need to learn about! pianolove,t hank you! One thing about movies/books/comics leaving a lot of either spaces to fill or concepts to disagree with, it's great in inspiring writers and artists to come up with so much creativity. Also great for me to learn how to do new things just to learn more about favored characters. Getting me into new technology and everything LOL.

Ok, back from venturing over to Instagram and following - and now I know what I'll be doing this evening! pianolove, thank you! For all the dark aspects of the internet, the ability to enjoy the works of so many gifted people is a real treasure. It's hard to remember back in the old days making mimeo copies of stories and mailing them around very small groups, just due to logistics. And - just tripped over the Marvel Escape Room you tube video - Joe Russo coordinating, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, and Benedict Cumberbatch escaping. Oh, my gosh those guys! Now I want to see the unedited version.

Outside of Edward Norton’s Hulk, which is the only one even H agrees we do not ever need to own, for me the weakest ones are Iron Man 3 and Age of Ultron. IM3 because it’s the only Marvel movie I’ll consistently fall asleep while watching. AoU feels like too many mini plots smashed together. In some ways, it feels like it would have worked as a mini series rather than a single movie. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it.
And I could never hate IM2 because the scene where he’s sciencing while sexy makes up for any flaws. Also introducing Black Widow.
