Week/fruit/EDD: 33+0/RCS June 26/ 3 chocolate croissants
FTM, etc: STM
Appointments: Next week
Team: Pink:)
Milestones: Still here and at most 6 more weeks to go!
Symptoms: Nausea, fatigue, heartburn.
Rants: I sent DD's school an email explaining that I'm keeping her here with me to spend these last few weeks with her as an only child before baby gets here and that her attendance will be sporadic at best until the end of the year. She is in montessori so has been in the same class for the past 2.5 years and still has 1 year left in this class so I'm not too worried about it (she is only in what is the equivalent of JK right now and if I was not working she likely wouldn't have even been starting school until next year anyways...so I don't feel bad about it but I feel like the teachers are judging me...which is likely silly since I'm a teacher and would totally understand if I had a student in this situation). We taught her to read at home and she is reading at a pretty high level (they don't do much reading at school) so I figure she's getting valuable learning in while she's with me. Plus we're taking our last few adventures just the two of us before baby is here.
Raves: I love spending this time with DD.

Week/fruit/EDD: 7/31
FTM, etc: 4thTM
Appointments: glucose screen and appointment today!
Team: green
Milestones: 3rd tri, whoop whoop!
Symptoms: Zantac is keeping my heartburn under control so it's really just soreness and fatigue. One perk of our new insurance is that chiropractic is only a $10 copay so I might start going, that was so helpful last pregnancy!!
Rants: I am stressing about filling some childcare gaps this summer and also I have no idea who is taking my kids when I go into labor. My parents live out of state and this is the first time they won't be here when baby is born.
Raves: all in all feeling pretty good! Hope these last 12 weeks fly by!

Week/fruit/EDD: 26w3d butternut squash 8/16
FTM, etc: STM
Appointments: OB 5/23 - every 2 weeks now
Team: Blue
Milestones: I can now see the baby kicks from the outside!
Symptoms: pelvic pain, some trouble sleeping, swollen ankles this morning.
Rants: not really a rant but we are going to try to potty train our 2.5 yo this weekend. I’m terrified. But I don’t want 2 in diapers. If it doesn’t work then my next option will be on maternity leave since he has to be trained before 3 for school.
Raves: Great Mother’s Day yesterday swimming in the pool with family.

cookswithwine I reluctantly potty trained DD2 in January at 2.5 too and it turned out to be a breeze! Good luck!

Week/fruit/EDD: 31w3d/romaine lettuce/July 12
FTM, etc: STM
Appointments: Next week
Team: Blue
Milestones: none
Symptoms: Indigestion and heartburn are killing me and nothing I can take will touch it. Hips, pelvis and sciatic are bad so I struggle to get around. I've also been swelling a ton and most of my shoes don't fit.
Rants: XH is being a huge pain in the ass these days and I have exactly no patience to deal with him.
Raves: Baby's room is painted and the crib is put together, so I feel like we aren't completely unprepared right now. Still lots to do though.

Week/fruit/EDD: 30 weeks, 7/22 FTM, etc: 3rd Appointments: May 24 and growth ultrasound May 29 Team: blue... thinking I better buy some boy clothes soon! Milestones: 30 weeks feels like some kind of milestone! Symptoms: feeling surprisingly well! Rants: Not really a rant, but one of the kids in my DD’s class had his little brother born this morning. I’m feeling a little jealous! Raves: I love how my OB plays along with our Pgal brain. I’ve been requesting extra blood work and even though she kind of laughs that it’s overkill, she’s like “whatever you need!”

Week/fruit/EDD: 25w3d/prairie dog/ Aug 23 FTM, etc: STM Appointments: PT on Wednesday: I always recommend PT PP especially but it doesn't hurt prenatally either. Team: Green Milestones: I've been trying to get DH to see the movements from the outside but no luck. He definitely feels our little tumbler though. Symptoms: sciatica, fatigue, moodiness Rants: I realized that we never list weight gain as a symptom lol. I weighed myself and the reality is sinking in that I'll go over the 30lbs mark soon. It was probably 35lbs last time so it doesn't matter except that I bought some maternity clothes and they either barely fit or do not fit so I feel bigger. Raves: I am a lazy seamstress but I've still managed to make some "maternity hacks." I threaded an elastic through a top's bottom seam so it fits my belly, I removed a too tight elastic from an altered skirt and since the fabric is elasticized it *Should* stay up and not make love handle bulges... so long as I don't get too big a butt and can get it on! I'm also hoping to alter a dress that was also elasticized too tight into what people on Pinterest are calling "a pillowcase style dress."

cookswithwine +1 to robinanne I toilet trained DD at 2.5 (also because she needed to be toilet trained for school before 3) and found it super easy. Hopefully it will go well. This next one will need to be trained by 18 months though for her school...so I am anticipating a nightmare there:/

Omg wuttttt sammysam, that sounds impossible and awful. We were anxious to potty train my oldest because she is an August birthday and was on the younger end of her 3 year preschool class but she did it with a few months to spare. DD2 trained shortly after 2. We did nothing with either one to train them, just waited until they asked for underwear. The idea of having to actually potty train a kid terrifies me 😂

My god rachacha I can so relate on the XH front. A phone call from mine just made me want to spontaneously combust. Reaffirms my good decision for a divorce on a daily basis.

FTM, etc: 3TM
Appointments: 5/17
Team: 💙
Milestones:
Symptoms: rib pain, heartburn, BH
Rants: my 2yo crapped in the bath last night. First time that ever happened. I hope it's the last 🤮. I had the curtain closed so he could splash while the water emptied. Stupid me didn't realize he was grunting until it was too late.

Week/fruit/EDD: 32w2d, cantaloupe, 7/7
FTM, etc: STM
Appointments: this morning.
Team: pink
Milestones:
Symptoms: hip/pelvic pain, heartburn, TIRED, can’t breathe with feet up in my ribs.
Rants: getting minorly annoyed at coworkers’ opinions of exactly what I should/shouldn’t be doing at work. My job involves a lot of heavy lifting, but my OB has not given me a specific weight limit on lifting, and so far I am able to do what I need to without injury or adverse effects, and without placing an increased burden on others. Anyway, the opinions that I shouldn’t be lifting at all, that I should already be out on leave, etc. are annoying. I have offered to the worst offenders that if they will pay my salary, I will gladly stay home. For some reason they don’t seem eager to do that 😆
Raves: Fresh fruit. All of it.

moreorless I get so annoyed with people's opinions of what I supposedly can or cannot do. I get so much grief from people for continuing to shovel snow or mow the lawn up until my due date. It's great exercise, I love being outside, and my body is cooperative enough to allow me to do it. Mind your own business 🙄

elodin DS pooped in the bath once. I told him poop goes in the potty! So now he will say “don’t poop bath” occasionally while in the bath. Luckily it has never been repeated.

cookswithwine peachesncream Right??? You are not allowed to send diapers because they won't use them so you have to send like 10 changes of clothing every day. It seems to work for them but I still can't quite wrap my head around it.

sammysam well if they are doing the training and clothes changing I guess that's a little better! I would not want to deal with that but more power to them. I hope they do the bulk of the training work for you and send home a magically potty trained 18 month old!!

Soo apparently I'm going to the MW tomorrow?? I just noticed it on my calendar. Have I mentioned that I'm EXTREMELY forgetful!
PT went well. Turns out it may be a mild case of scoliosis causing my sciatica. She taped my back and I bought a "supportive" belly band from her. I know how to belly bind but I get nervous about the baby's position (certain support bands & belly binding can prevent a baby from moving into a proper position) and this I've worn since then and it feels comfortable, sort of like a normal bellyband on my pregnancy pants except less rolling and more lift.

peachesncream I guess if they want to deal with it power to them...but the number of pairs of pants I'm going to have to buy...yikes. cookswithwine Ha! I wish. When DD was night training they told me to just let her go with no diaper since it's what she wanted to do. I remember thinking yeah, buy you don't need to change the sheets and throw in a load of laundry in the middle of the night. Oh well. If it magically gets LO toilet trained and out of diapers before 2 then I'm on board.

This baby's movements have become SO uncomfortable. I don't know if s/he is still positioned weird or what but every time I feel a wiggle I wince. Active little bugger in there I guess!

LO is transverse and it feels like she is dislocating both of my hip bones simultaneously whenever she moves or stretches. It is painful! I'm glad this is a RCS because I cannot see her magically turning into head down position in the next 5ish weeks when she has been transverse the entire time:/

I wonder if s/he is still stuck that way. I'm trying not to pay attention to position since my last LO was breech up until week 36 or 37 and I spent a lot of time unnecessarily fretting about it. The discomfort struggle is real though.

peachesncream, sammysam, They didn't tell me what position the baby was at my a/s. Would have been nice to know because I feel the same way! DD was a ninja so I have no doubt that #2 is up to the same shenanigans.

peachesncream: Kind of jealous that you could shovel. I remember one time I did while pregnant with DD and H came home as was like "you're as white as a sheet! why are you doing this??" I guess my BP had dropped but I was so focused I didn't process the symptoms. I'm sure I shoveled before the incident but afterwards H banned me from it. moreorless: Weird question but since it's relevant to your job: Did you get any advice about how to lift? My PT noticed minor diastasis, which is normal, but I wonder if my random grabbing of the toddler is worsening it. Also people MYOB! I only know one person who was told not to lift during pregnancy and that was due to placenta previa. I have been told to be kinder to my abs (as I already mentioned) but that's also none of their businesss!

@kore the only lifting advice I got was when I was pregnant with DS. My previous OB just encouraged me to focus on prober lifting technique, and that the amount I could safely lift would naturally decrease as my belly grew and I could no longer hold the weight as close to my body. I just really focus on engaging my lower body muscles on heavy lifts...feet planted slightly wider than I otherwise would, and taking a deeper squat before lifting. I use my arms/core only to stabilize whatever it is I’m lifting, and let my legs do the rest of the work.
Kid-lifting wise, I’ve been training him not to be carried (he’s 4.5 and a total mama’s boy, so being carried is not a necessity anymore). If I do have to pick him up, I often squat to the ground, then stand back up with him rather than bending over to lift with my arms/abs.
