When the party enters the Sheriff's office, he is not alone. Mayor Deverin is there as is an elven woman who looks slightly haggard. Hemlock introduces her as Shalelu Andosana, calling her an "unofficial member of the Sandpoint town guard". He also explains that she has been a thorn in the side of the local goblin tribes for years, and few no them as well as she does. She nods to each party member in turn as introductions continue.
"She's just given me her report. Which is why I needed you and the mayor here. Seems that we're not the only ones with goblin trouble these days. She just saved a family south of Mosswood when the goblins burned their farm to the ground."
Shalelu clears her throat at this and begins to speak, "Belor's told me of your work against the goblins - well done. I've dedicated the last several years of my life to keeping them from causing too much trouble around these parts, but they're tenacious and fecund little runts. Like weeds that bite. There are five major goblin tribes in the region and, traditionally, they're pretty good at keeping each other in line with intertribal squabbles and the like. Yet from what I've been able to piece together, members of all five tribes were involved on the raid in Sandpoint. A fair number of the Mosswood goblins I dealt with yesterday were already beat up, and there was a lot of chatter about the 'longshanks' who killed so many of them. Now that I've met you, it seems obvious from their descriptions who they were talking about. Seems like you've made an impression. In any event, the fact that the five tribes are working together disturbs me. Goblin tribes don't get along unless they've got something big planned, and big plans require big bosses. I'm afraid someone's moved in on the goblins and organized them. And judging by these recent raids, what they're organizing seems like bad news for all of us."

Sheriff Hemlock interrupts before Shalelu can answer. "I'm sure you'll have a lot to talk about, but before you get into the nitty gritty, I want to let you know that I'm taking a few of my men and heading to Magnimar today. We need backup. Even if you take care of the goblins, there's something big going on and I'd appreciate fresh eyes. If you wouldn't mind, help Shalelu here with her investigation, but keep a presence in town until I return. Folks find you a calming influence to have around." He nods farewell and he and the Mayor leave.
Shalelu waits for Hemlock to leave before answering Ciara, "Like I said, there are 5 tribes. The closest tribe to town is the Birdcrunchers. They live in caves along the western edge of the Devil's Platter. Typically, they are the least agressive of the five. South are the Licktoads out of Brinestump Marsh. East you find the Seven Tooth tribe in Shank's Wood. They like to raid the junkyard. Then there are the Mosswood goblins. I had a run in with them yesterday. There are more of them than any of the other tribes. But they typically are troubled by infighting. Finally, there are the Thistletop goblins. THey're located on the Nettlewood coast on a small island."

If there was a big boss, which tribe do you think it would be staying with? None of these places sound plesent, but I don't suppose anyone willing to work with the goblins would care over much.

Shalelu thinks for a minute. "Probably Thistletop. All the tribes agree they have the best hidey-hole. It's a pretty secluded place and hard to get to. There's only one bridge from the mainland, and you have to go through a thicket to get there. The water around it isn't the safest for traveling either."

Well, then I guess that's where we go. How long should it take you to get to Magnimar and back? I took a caravan, so I'll imagine that you will be moving faster.

"Well, Hemlock is getting a later start today, but it's about 2-3 days travel to Magnimar. I'd say minimum 5 days for the Sheriff to get there, get help, and return." Shalelu answers Coinstone.

Well, it looks like my companions aren't willing to wait. And I'll be a beardless gnome if I'm going to let them go fighting without me. What? .......Oh right, good idea Gygax. Gygax wants to know if you'll come with us. At least to show us where this Thistlehill Top is. Coinstone looks at the others quickly before asking, Agreed from the rest of you? Bring the scout along?

Well, I guess then we all straight up ignore what the Sheriff is asking us to do, gather up our stuff (and our things), and have the scout show us the way to ThistleTop. Agreed, everyone?

As the party prepares to leave, a timid knock comes on the door, before it opens. An elderly halfling woman enters, she looks around and looks relieved when she sees who is in the room. "Thank goodness I found you here. I tried to find you in the inn, but was told you'd come to meet with the sheriff. Ameiko didn't get up this morning and didn't answer when I tried to rouse her. Against my better judgement, I went in and her room was empty and her bed unslept in. And then I found this"
She holds out a crumpled piece of parchment.

Whoever takes note sees that it was originally writing in Minkaian, but has been translated on the back, likely by the halfling herself. It reads:
Hello Sis! I hope this letter finds you well, amd with some free time on your hands, because we've got something of a problem. It's to do with father. Seems that he might have had something to with Sandpoint's recent troubles with the goblins and I didn't want to bring the matter to the authorities because we both know he'd just weasel his way out of it. You'you've fot some pull here in town, though. If you can meet me at the Glassworks at midnight tonight, maybe we can figure out how to make sure he faces the punishment he deserves. Knock twice and then, three times more, and then onse more at the delivery entrance and I'll let you in. In any case, I don't have to impress upon you the delicate nature of this request. If news got out, you know these local ruves would assume that you adn I were in on the whole thing too, don't you? They've got no honor at all around these parts. I still don't understand how you can stand to stay here. Anyways, don't tell anyone about this. There are other complications as well, ones I'd rather talk to you in person about tonight. Don't be late.

Figit takes the note from Ciara and reads it. If the Amieko's father is connected to the goblin attacks, perhaps we should start our investigation there.

I'm super busy with work this month, but I will do my best to check in and post. I'm not online when I'm doing painting jobs though, so my posting times may be much later in the day.

Coinstone agrees and instead asks directions to the glass works instead. He grips his axe in eager anticipation.

The halfling looks relieved and quickly instructs the party on how to reach the Glassworks. She offers to escort the group if necessary, but is obviously only offering to be polite, as she looks incredibly anxious at the thought.

When the party arrives at the Glassworks, it is curiously silent. Plumes of smoke still flow from the chimneys, but the sounds of work are absent. A quick look around reveals that the curtains have bene drawn in all the windows and the doors are locked.

Coinstone will look towards Ciara and Fidgit and asks, My training is with this (he hefts his axe) and this (he knocks against his armor), not with recon. Either of you good at it? If not, 5 gp says I can chop down that door in less than 6 chops.

Let's try some of these windows before we chop down the door. Besides, we don't want to walk into a trap. Figit and Peetree move to the windows on the side of the building to see if any are unlocked.

The windows are also locked. There are two skylights on the roof that are unobstructed, though it is impossible to see if they are locked or not from the ground. If anyone wants to listen at the windows, make a DC 12 Perception check Within the glassworks, the faint sound of shrieking, giggling, and breaking glass can be heard.

Coinstone just looks at the group of locals while thinking. Then gets a better idea and says, Who wants to bet me 5 gp that I can't take down that down in 5 swings?

Most of the residents look uncomfortable at Coinstone's boast. "Don't you know who that building belongs to?" But one foolhardy youth, slaps his thigh and says, "I'll take that bet!"

Coinstone grins when he hears someone take the bet, then looks around for Fidgit and Ciara to see if they're in sight.

@chair, bonzo, someone needs to make a move. We can't move forward with the adventure unless someone opens a door or something. Shalelu just shrugs and watches as Coinstone brags.

It takes Coinstone a couple minutes to bash in the door. The townsfolk are whispering amongst themselves but no one intervenes. Lonjiku is not popular in town and he is well able to afford to replace one door.
The door opens into what is quite obviously a shop. There are shelves of glass wares and a counter where business would be conducted. Behind that counter are two more doors leading further into the factory. Other than the displays, the room is empty.

Figit walks inside, and after looking around tries the door leading to the factory. If Peetree can fit through the door, he follows (he's currently a size "small" but I'm not sure how tall that is)

The door leads into a long empty hallway. There is one path straight ahead and one leading to the right. Both are empty, but sounds of shrieking laughter and mayhem grow louder.
(Yes Petree can fit)
