Hey! Thanks for the birthday love everyone! I took the day for myself; I dropped the kids off, went for the Himalayan salt rub and ion foot bath, ate sushi for lunch, did some window shopping while waiting for my movie time. I saw the Long Shot and it was hilarious!! Highly recommend to anyone that loves a good romcom, it’s very funny and Charlize and Seth are weirdly good together. I did not do any laundry or cook food today, I mean....that's #goals Definitely #goals. Glad you had a day to treat yourself!

I just read a Facebook patt by some college friends now married to each other. They have 5 kids (oops twins at the end). She had been feeling like this week was going awful, hadn't had gone shopping and 1 of the kids opened the fridge and said she needed to go to the store so she "dove deep into the freezer". Then her loving hubbie comes home and kicks her ot off the house so she can meal plan in pace at Starbucks. #blessed
Totally side eyeing this. Could she not have time to herself while he shops? Does her blessed alone time have to be family planning?

Had my annual gyn appointment today. Unfortunately she thinks my murder scene awful periods are not adjusting to having stopped nursing and are just how it’s going to be. They are really getting in the way of my evening activities. What birth control are you on? My friend was having issues bleeding on the IUD and ortho lo. As soon as she switched to the highest dose possible bcp the bleeding stopped. I'm glad to hear that everything checks out ok

Looked over at my couch and saw this. Cass has been cuddling and dressing him. She just covered him with Purple.

Poor little guy, nam2013. What will they do for him going forward? Pdq Therapy started up a few weeks ago and he’s going 2-3 times a week. He said yesterday he doesn’t like this man and isn’t going to talk because the man will put it in his system and what happened to him should never be written down... I’ll have weekly meeting too with him. I’m not sure it’ll be enough. At least he talked to me.

cagoldi I’m sorry the therapist was awful. Do you have any say in asking for someone else? I am sure I do, but I really feel like we are back at square one with there being a fundamental difference of opinion about how to approach supporting him. This was sold to me as “parent training,” but it’s becoming clear this is just ABA, which I don’t think he needs and it sort of seems like it could become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Like klong11 said, this is more likely to cause him to shut down than it is to encourage more effort, IMO. It seems like it’s an issue with this type of therapy more than the therapist herself. Google “Miller Method.” I student taught in a class of first grade kids with autism that had not been successful in ABA programs and the teacher I was working with was starting this with them. Unfortunately, my time with them ended before we got too deep into it’s it was brand new to the school and staff was still being trained. They were suppose to video conference directly with Arnold Miller.

I’m currently looking at DIR Floortime, which truly sounds play and relationship based, but it isn’t super easy to find a practitioner. I’ll take all the help I can get at this point. Appreciate the info!

Help - who has a rec for a pet portrait from Etsy? My SIL's dog is being put down tonight 😭😭 and want to get an order in ASAP to send to them. I feel like several people have had them done over the years. This is who I just used. She did an amazing job and turnover was pretty quick! www.etsy.com/shop/BioStudioEta:she was referred to me by either wedding or sing. Yes, this is who we used. They were amazing. I haven't had the nerve yet to get one of Max but I plan to.
