For anyone who is interested, the IVF documentary Vegas Baby is premiering on PBS tonight (it's on the PBS World station, which I don't actually get) but it launches on Netflix on July 4th. It's also currently available for download on iTunes and Amazon and such. I have not seen it yet, but I've heard good things from other IFers.

I don't get that channel either. I'll watch it once it goes to Netflix.

Despite the film's website saying the Netflix release was yesterday, I could not find it available to stream yesterday or this morning. Anyone else try and succeed? I am fine with paying to rent it on Amazon if need be, but I was hoping to recommend it to friends and family and I think I'd have better success if they could just watch it on Netflix.

daisy818, I just looked and it still has not been added. I also saw that it was going to be added. I think it's $2.99 to watch it via the other options, right? Let me know if you watch it.

Netflix screwed up and hasn't posted it yet. I ended up coming from from work early (really uncomfortable after ER) and rented it on Amazon. It was $2.99. Has anyone else watched it yet?

H and I finally watched it on Saturday night. I have to say, the more I see nurse Linda, the more I love her. I wish all IF nurses had her approach and point of view.

I just watched it yesterday, and totally agree with specter about nurse Linda - she's basically IVF supernurse. Do people want to discuss their thoughts on the film here, or should we start a new thread? Also, TW for OPP: This is really not a spoiler to anything in the film, but one scene that got to me the most was when the one woman was out getting a pedicure and she was surrounded by the pregnant 40 year old and everyone started talking about people they knew who got accidentally pregnant in their 40s. I just wanted to give her a big hug and some headphones because UGH.

We've all unfortunately been in a situation just like that and it's just so painful. +1 for adoring Nurse Linda.

Watching again because DH went to his friend's and the tv is all mine. How do they know how many eggs are mature right after retrieval?

Yeah, I felt sometimes the medical things were a bit weird, which may have just been an editing issue. Like (and maybe this is just because I haven't done travel IVF before) they were all doing their stimming at home with no monitoring shown or discussed, and then they flew to Vegas just for the retrieval. I assume someone somewhere was monitoring them, right?

I watched it yesterday. It was interesting but it felt like they were trying to fit too much into the short length of the film.

Dr Sh.er does allow for local monitoring. I can't remember if he allows a local baseline but once injections start, you only have to be there for ER and ET. All according to his site, I've researched him some.
