So LO's "best friend" has both her tibias fractured (she is around 18 months), they think it's from getting her legs caught in the crib rails. Poor girl! Super freaking out about the crib... LO puts her legs through sometimes, although she's only gotten stuck like twice.

Pretty standard day around here. DS had school and came home super happy as usual. Cute thing happened after dinner. I decided to show him a little clip from Moana of the "We Know the Way" song, and DS LOVED it. He started dancing and shaking his booty right away. It was adorable. He asked to watch and dance to it like three more times, and then started running around the living room singing, "Away, away!!!"
I don't think he's old enough to watch the movie yet (he gets scared at tense scenes), but I do think he'll like it some day!!

I get to bring my car in this morning for its (belated) 30,000 mile service. I'm wearing my running clothes because I'm not sure if they expect me to wait, have a shuttle, or I'll need to run home.

At work. I finally decided I'm taking the 3rd off and K and I are going to the zoo. I need to call our library and ask how the museum passes work in regards to a holiday.

Mine never danced to Moana but he's dances to the Trolls songs. He cried the other day cause he couldn't get up fast enough when the song came on. That was his cranky day, sigh.

I'm bummed. We were supposed to go to the beach this afternoon in MI. But it's like a high of 70*. We made these plans 2 weeks ago when we were in the throes of the heat wave. Stupid summer. I have the afternoon off and we're gonna go shopping at an outdoor mall. My sister was should we take the kids to the zoo? I'm like no, kids stay at DC, this is my time off. Meanie.

Someone just told me that you could get a pass to the zoo from the library. Did not know that. The one I'm looking at gives admission to two adults and 2 children free but it's first come first serve and you can only borrow it for 3 days. Our library has the worst hours so I would need to pick it up on Saturday and hope and pray I can get it back by monday night. You can't return to the book drop and it's a $10 late fee. Still $10 is cheaper than admission. I really hope everyone else in town doesn't have the same idea that day.

It's cool here too and it rained again this morning. I hope it's at least sunny where you are.

jewel, omg that's awful! That poor baby. I don't even want to know how that could possibly happen. I know! Super scary. They ordered more tests on the LO too, jic something is wrong that made her more susceptible. The doc said in general it's a really common fracture on young toddlers but you don't usually see both legs, probably just bad luck but definitely want to check to make sure

Yesterday, K successfully pointed to her ear, said "ouch" and "mine". Ouch was because I knocked her head on the door when I was putting her in the carseat. I was like this as I finished buckling her in and drove out of there:

She says it, but at the most random times. Except for that one time she called out "mama" when she was crying after I put her to bed. Guess who is the sucker who went running back in, picked her up, and rocked her for another 20 minutes. That's right, this bitch. I'm on the verge of reverse sleep training if it means I get cuddles. I think I need an intervention.

DH and I finally figured out what we're wearing to SIL's wedding! I found a pair of gray pants in our closet that he had no memory of owning that fit nicely and we found a nice shirt in our travels today (and now I'm seriously impressed with Burlington Coat Factory's big and tall selection!). Also found this on clearance for $30 for me:

A mom at the playground warned me that I was about to stick my face in a spider web. That woman deserves a Nobel Peace Prize.
Not much happening here today. I have a dentist appointment. E loves Panda Express mushroom chicken (she was stealing my lunch today). H might come home early and I might see if he wants to go out for ice cream at a local shop. Called and set up a payment plan on a bill that I need to pay but can't pay in full because what the hell am I getting a bill for E's birth 19 months after the fact? Eff that noise. I'm a teacher in Oklahoma. I don't make much. Stop bothering me.

My big kid can open the fridge door. Oh joy. The middle kid pushes chairs around the kitchen to reach things. I'm sure it will be great when they learn team work.

My kid sticks her feet through the slats on her crib occasionally but she's never been stuck. Luckily she's not a really wild sleeper.

Does anyone have a cradle cap shampoo that they like? LO is having a major flair up (also is this something I should worry about, LO is 16 months). We olive oiled her head yesterday, but wondering if we should also change shampoos.
