Hmmmm. How accurate is the daily mail in its assessment of this? My first instinct is to say wtf but is the DM accurate or are they being OTT about it?

Didn’t they unfollow everyone else so that they could highlight charities? That doesn’t seem to fit with that “retreat.”

It looks like Hollywood woo wooo bullshit.

But maybe I’m biased bc the DM article is all I’ve read on the situation. 🤷🏻♀️ I bet it’s all Jessica’s fault 😂

I read the DM article, and it looks like there is just a small photo from the friend’s website being used as part of a 9-photo-collage IG post. Maybe not cool, but to me it didn’t look like they were actually promoting the retreat. The DM headline made me think they posted a full on plug about staying at the retreat, so when I saw what really happened I wasn’t as outraged. I thought they also tagged the company? A picture by itself doesn’t bother me, especially as it’s well known that Meghan enjoys yoga and I’m sure she experiences many benefits from it and may feel it helps her mental health. Tagging them makes it different, to me. I’m not upset by it, but I think it’s an odd choice and I would think they could find a more attainable option to promote.

I didn’t see a tag. I could have missed it though. All I saw was a long post about mental health awareness month under a 9-photo image. One of the photos is a woman in white kneeling on the floor (looks like yoga). Apparently this image is from her friend’s website. I would never have known where the image came from without the DM story. I didn’t see a link to the site or a tag or anything. I just figured I’d read what the DM article was actually saying had happened and then go look at the actual IG post in question, since people seemed to be just going by the DM headline. Based on what I initially read in this thread I was expecting a much more blatant promotion of the retreat or site. There is a tag. The other tags are for things like talkspace, blackhealthmatters, heads_together, anxietyukofficial, crisistextline and similar things that seem more appropriate

I went and had a look, the account is called theclass and is tagged in the post with the multiple pictures.

I'm assuming all the accounts they are following for the month ( I didn't cross check all of them). The account in question (the class) was tagged. In the post it also doesn't say they were only following charities. Just accounts that are based on a certain theme or cause. This month's was mental health to include self care. Which that account seems to cover. There are also several charities they are following. I'm not up in arms about it. It wasn't a blatant ad for the class/product.

I didn’t click all the other tags so I can’t say they are all charities but just looking at the names most of them seem mental health related.

Yes, yoga is good for mental health. Yes, Meghan is promoting her friends company.
I don’t see a problem with it being expensive as I think most will just see it as a yoga photo.

It’s one of the accounts they are following this month. To promote them for mental health or something.

Not a fan of the Daily Fail but I feel like it diminishes them highlighting charities/causes (esp since they stopped following family) to promote a friend’s business. They can do what they want with their accounts but it just looks like a poor choice

It seems counter to what they say they are trying to do and why they unfollowed the other accounts. It’s not the end of the world, but it does fuel those thirsty rumors. TO ME. It seems disingenuous.

I'm not up in arms about it. When I looked at the page for the class it's about mind and body wellness, yoga and diet. It's not a charity, but not so of the other tags are either. There are several for profit companies that service mental health. So I see it as providing options for people to find paths that work for them.
Additionally $3,600 a night is sadly not expensive for a mental health facility, it's pretty standard. It's certainly a factor in why so many people can't afford inpatient treatment for mental health and rehab, especially when they don't have insurance coverage.

I didn’t click all the other tags so I can’t say they are all charities but just looking at the names most of them seem mental health related. I looked through them all. Some are non-profits, but others are authors, businesses, and even a TV show on OWN. The one thing they have in common is that they deal with mental health in some way. After looking through the tags, I'm even more ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ than I was. They're promoting people, companies, or organizations that they trust that deal with mental health.

Yeah the OWN thing is also getting a hard side eye. But didn't Harry and Oprah team up for something related to mental health also? So that tie in would kind of make sense too. I still don't really get the big deal. To me, it's not much different then when Meghan (or Kate or any other royal/celeb) wears a certain designer and it's highlighted/mentioned. Maybe it's because they are friends? So it looks like she's advertising? I don't recall outrage when she wore Serena' s blazer. That was women supporting women. They highlighted a variety of accounts. Including charities that focus on mental wellness/self-care/positive self image. Maybe its the mimosas I had a brunch, but I just can't get it up to be upset about it. 🤷♀️ (Also not speaking to you directly, ariel. I know you're just sharing what royal Twitter is saying!)

I’m laughing at that Instagram though. How many of us called them sharing that #basic baby feet shot?
