cookswithwine I hope you get your VBAC!! I'm not asking to be snarky, genuinely curious since I've never experienced a c section - how much time do you spend or interaction do you have with the OB? I kind of picture them waltzing in after you're prepped, doing their thing, and then leaving immediately because that's kind of what they do for vaginal delivery, but I didn't know if maybe there was more to it. My time spent with OBs during delivery has ranged from 0 minutes (nurse caught my 3rd baby haha, doc just stuck his head afterwards in and said everything looked good) to probably 2 hours with my first.

I just wanted the same OB as my first bc I know she did a good job lol so I trust her.

Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): 💗

Omg does anyone else drop things constantly? It's ridiculous how fumbly my hands have gotten. Yes! It's ridiculous. I'm also constantly spilling stuff on myself. I never used to be this way, lol. I've also tripped over my own feet more times than I'd care to admit.

Week/fruit/EDD: 23w5d/chinchilla/Aug 23
FTM, etc: STM
Team (pink, blue, green, finding out): Green
Milestones: Braxton hicks ETA: lots of movement!
Symptoms: BH, dehydration, reflux, general aches
Rants: BH are driving me crazy. I've skipped exercise the past two evenings since that's when they're the worst. Debating calling my midwife to get permission to "ignore" them and continue with exercise. I still am trying to drink enough water to ward them and headaches off but 3L is a lot! Also, just confirmed that if the adapter I have doesn't work, our stroller company doesn't have any adapters for our bucket seat. Grr. I could have chosen a different car seat but I loved the one I picked (Primo Viaggio 4/35) but it's the one car seat our stroller company doesn't seem to want to manufacture for.
Raves: My goddaughter was born last week! She's got so much hair <3
I keep starting in tapatalk then finishing on the laptop so I either have to copy & paste or start over.

" cookswithwine Nope. Based on what I found online they can happen after 20w. I remember it being around 28w last time & my BFF said hers started at 24w in her last pregnancy.

@kore I got the same infant seat as you because DD loves her 5/65 one so much (the convertible). I ended up splurging for a Peg Perego stroller because the infant seat clicks right on to the chassis. I didn't even try to see if I could get an adapter for my old stroller. But my old stroller was cheap and I never loved it so it gave me a good excuse to buy a new one:)

I’ve had a lot of BH too. I read that you’re not supposed to have more than 8 in an hour, but sometimes mine get going and I have more than that. When it happens, I try to take it easy, drink water, relax on my left side, but sometimes I just ignore them. They go away by the morning.
Contractions are my least favorite part of the end of pregnancy. How are you supposed to know what’s what?!

robinanne Have you talked to your OB/GYN about having more than 8? I haven't counted but it feels like a lot sometimes. I couldn't find a good GIF for the BH waddle I've got going on but I've always liked this one. Describes my babies (DD & this baby, not having multiples!!) to a T.

robinanne I have never had BH (I know... my uterus is super weird) but I did have prodromal labor with my second kid for about 2 days before I went into true labor. The "fake" contractions (I put quotes because those fuckers hurt, they certainly didn't feel fake) were inconsistent in time interval - they would slow down with rest and get closer together with activity. They also lasted 30-45 seconds instead of a minute. They were totally timeable and got as close as 5 minutes apart for a good 12 hours, but never hit that minute long mark and never got closer together than that. I could tell it was true labor because it woke me out of my sleep, increased in intensity and got closer together, and did not change with activity/rest/position. It can be really hard to tell though, and when it gets to that time I would err on the side of going in and not feel embarrassed at all if they send you home. DD2 was born about two hours after we got to the hospital (and was delayed a bit because I insisted upon having an epidural before pushing, lol).

@kore peachesncream I went into the hospital for preterm labor with DD1 at 30 weeks and they stopped contractions with magnesium. That time it was a result of dehydration and overdoing it on a walk in June heat. I tend to be really careful in the summer now! The end of pregnancy (all summer babies!) usually finds me chugging water and timing contractions. I seem to just have a lot of them.

robinanne I was curious about magnesium supplements but I guess they won't recommend them until I really need them! I haven't talked to the MW about them yet, but I imagine they would recommend water, rest, relaxation first.

robinanne how did you know it was preterm labor instead of just BH? Sorry about the glucose test! I didn’t know what to think really. At the time, I texted my doctor and she told me to drink water, rest, and time the contractions. They were every two minutes, so after an hour she had us come in to L&D. They checked me when I got there and throughout the night I progressed to 3cm. I got the shots for the baby’s lungs and magnesium sulfate, and contractions finally stalled out.
