I can't believe we are at the end of April. Didn't we just start it?

Early confession, I'm rocking out to Disney jams at my desk this morning.

I have my second night of conferences tonight so of course I woke up to a big pimple on my face. Lovely.
My mom is watching the boys today since this is E's day home and N has to be home until he's been on the amoxicillin for 24 hours. I hope she can handle it. I think she's got a big TV day planned for him. We don't usually let him watch TV all day, but you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.

2/3 kids have been having disgusting diapers/accidents for at least 4 days. I’m drowning in poop.

Hi, all. Last night/today have been emotionally exhausting. GOT was only part of it (LOL). My sister is in the hospital.
She went in a few nights ago for chest pain and a bad headache. She was told she had a very bad UTI that just presented unusually, and they gave her a shot of antibiotics and then a 10 day oral course to take at home. She was okay for a couple days and then yesterday she said she was in terrible pain and had trouble breathing so she went back. Well, now it turns out that she has freaking pneumonia and also fluid in a pocket around her heart, so she was admitted. Her fever has been high, and it wasn't being brought down with Tylenol overnight, so they had to put ice on her. She was one two antibiotics, which I guess must have just been antibacterials. My dad immediately suspected valley fever, which is caused by a fungus. I guess he was pretty livid that they hadn't given her any antifungals yet since her stay overnight. If the fluid around her heart doesn't go away on its own, they will have to use a syringe to take it out.
Just... crazy. And all of this is 3 months post partum. She has an exclusively breastfeeding baby at home (plus a 19 month old), and she has to pump and dump for 48 hours. Fortunately my nephew eats well from a bottle, and her ILs and my parents are there (at least it sounded like my parents were there, I am going to call them soon). She has been texting me so I know things are okay for now.
Valley fever isn't unheard of here. It is endemic, and where she is in CA (and where I am too) has especially high rates. But still. My mom has had it in the past, too. Maybe there is some gene that makes people extra susceptible?
So anyway, if you could spare an extra thought for her, I would appreciate it. Sorry to stick this in the randoms. I didn't want to make a whole thread dedicated to it, but I had to get it out there.

Again, sarahandben108? WTF? It's gonna be MAY! So many hugs. We had a busy weekend, but it was so much fun. N seemed to really enjoy himself at Awesomecon, with one minor meltdown excepted (while we were waiting for Weird Al's autograph - he was fine for the picture earlier, though - I'll have to post it on the private thread). He enjoyed running around the convention floor, waving at people, fell at Kelly le Broc's feet at one point. Tried to get some pics with cosplayers but he really doesn't get posing yet lol. Weird Al was super nice and my dad is going to freak when he sees the pictures in June. Keeping it a secret from him is going to be so hard lol. Sunday my friend came over to watch him while H and I went to the movies. We really haven't left him with anyone other than family, so it was a big day. N did great, fussed a little as we left but started playing and was fine. Endgame was AMAZING. I ugly cried. I'm still coughing and my throat still hurts, so if I wake up like this again tomorrow I'll go back to the doctor. I just want to stop coughing. I feel like there's a popcorn kernel or something else small stuck at the back of my throat, which makes me cough, which makes my throat hurt more. Such a pain in the ass.

As far as pumping and dumping there are definitely meds you have to do it for but most doctors don't know them (aka are too lazy to look it up) so they do a standard pump and dump. She could ask to see lactation (if available where she is) to do a med review or look up Dr. Hales infant risk website/mother's milk guide. I hate hate hate when docs tell moms to pump and dump unnecessarily.

And thanks, ladies. She is responding to the anti fungal, which is great. My parents are there and I guess my dad raised Hell with the physicians. 😑 which is warranted, honestly. He said it was a very straightforward clinical diagnosis that they should have gotten correct.
The worst part is that when she went in for chest pain initially, the docs sent her home because they said it was anxiety. Women are so often ignored when it comes to medical complaints, and this is like a cookie cutter example of that.

Your throat just must be raw at the back and so it feels like that, hopefully it goes away soon. DD has a runny nose and a cough, but it's been at least three weeks since the last time, so right on cue 🙄 they didn't complain about her at daycare today at least, so we'll see how she is in the morning. I'm already tired today because she coughed and whined through the night... Did I complain about this already? Haha.

I’m sending healing thoughts her way! Apparently they did a chest x Ray, but the type they used didn’t detect the pneumonia in the left lobe because the heart was in the way. Ohhh and the kicker I forgot to mention earlier. She overheard the nurse say the person in the ER room next to hers had MEASLES. 😡😡😡

Well, it was spitting snow when I woke up but it looks to be the end of it. Thank God!
I'm dragging today. Why do we have conferences on a Monday? Then we are exhausted the rest of the week.
Tonight N starts his first T-Ball practice. My H is going to the office so that means I have to bring N and E, then run home for dinner, and then get both boys into bed. Great. This week it's today and Thursday but starting next week it's 3 days a week. Ugh.

Good thing you went in and got checked cakewench. I just realized how tough the spring in on N. 3 years ago today our Facebook feed has N being admitted to the hospital for pneumonia, the year before that the facebook memory is him having RSV, and right now he has strep. Crazy.
