So sleep has been hit or miss but....j slept through the night 3 nights in a row which is a first! The first two nights were awesome because i got 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. However, he is stil hving a hard time going down for sleep. Its taking 20 to 30 minutes at night and we go in multiple times. Naps are hit are miss going down. Sometimes he will go right down, sometimes we go in once or twice. He does nap a solid 2 hours once he is down though.
Anything fun going on this week? I have book club after work tomorrow and i cant wait. I have state testing at school for 18 days and im on day 5 so my mornings suck.....oh well.

So jealous haha.
I’m sick AGAIN. woke up yesterday and I could barely swallow my throat hurt so much. None of my meds are helping. And I’m in day four of a five day stretch of work. 👎🏼 And DH got called to cover another dr that called in sick today for their 30 hour call shift. I hope that person is legit sick and not being an asshole bc the other day we were out walking along the lake front path and we ran into one of his coworkers who was going for a run. After she passed he was like. Huh. She called in sick to work yesterday and someone else had to cover her shitty shift. She seems to be just fine today if she’s out for a run along the lake 🤨
My parents come on Wednesday, though! I’m excited. I hope I’m feeling better.

R wants to be a big kid and gets mad when she can’t do stuff that she wants to. Yesterday she climbed up on our dining room table when I ran upstairs because T was playing Legos. T was so upset because she thought R would fall off. We keep the bedroom doors and bathroom shut - we are waiting for her to figure out how to open them because she is so determined to do things. I let her have the iPad when she asks because it’s so stinking cute to watch her play games. She also really likes watching a slideshow of the pictures. Here are two games she really likes right now: Shapes! Toddler Kids Games,Baby Boys Learning Free by Gennadii Zakharov itunes.apple.com/us/app/shapes-toddler-kids-games-baby-boys-learning-free/id1043509765?mt=8She likes feeding the squirrels and turning a caterpillar into a butterfly. bsouls J can open the closet doors because they have handles you pull but the bedroom doors, bathroom door, and basement doors are all turn knobs which he cant so im hoping je doesnt learn how to for a while. Have i mentioned J vacuum cleaner obsession? Our house is the cleanest its been. 2 to 3 times a day J opens the closet, pulls out the vacuum, and will yell until we vacuum. He also tes us what room to vacuum and likes "supervising" the plug going in and taking it out. Its funny but nuts.

Noah figured out how to open knob doors. And how to lock them. Luckily we have a key to open all of them in case he ever locks himself in. We do keep them closed though, it’s usually when we are in the bathroom that he will either close all of us in and locks it or close us in and he’s out and he runs away lol. He also loves the vacuum. I vacuum much more now too than ever in my life LOL king26 He’s being so difficult lately I’m just exhausted. My parents are coming so I hope he bonds well and I can get a fucking break.

R loves the vacuum, too. And, she uses the toy vacuum we have in the closet and then she wants to swifter the floors after vacuuming. She has a tantrum when we are done.
R also loves brushing her teeth and runs to the bathroom after breakfast or anytime the door is open. She stands on the stool and demands to brush her teeth. Then she has a tantrum when we tell her she’s all done. She also won’t let me help anymore.

Haha all these toddler antics!
L can open all of our doors- she has gotten her shoes and tried to go outside through the garage a handful of times. She discovered she can get herself completely butt naked, so that’s always a fun surprise when I get out of the shower. (She plays in the pack n play) She also loves her toothbrush and standing on the stool to wash her hands.
DH is on an overseas work trip until Mother’s Day, so I’m in for a crazy week.

Oh man y'all. I'm so glad toddler H can't open knob doors yet. That would be so stressful. Until recently he would run into the bathroom and play in the toilet if we left the door open. We would say no and put him in the crib each time, which would make him cry. I think he understands bc now he closes the open bathroom door and then claps for himself. But I don't know what would happen if he could open it himself. addymac Ugh! You have been sick so frequently. Hope you are better soon.

Wow sounds like everyone is exhausted! J is non stop and never sleeps all night. We have been traveling again and he is all messed up. Plus I think little C is teething already which is super fun on top of a crazy toddler.
We are at my sister's for my nephew's communion and my oldest just wants to be with the big kids and came in crying a bunch of times because she fell or just couldn't keep up. But she is determined. J keeps trying to go up the stairs which would be fine if he could walk back down them so that is exhausting. I left for a few hours to meet a friend and mh pitched a fit. I had that planned for months. Plus there were literally 20 adults to help watch the kids. Wtf!

yellowcat sounds like a tough time but you totally deserve a few hours with a friend! How are you all disciplining your kids? Im struggling with J. I tell him no multie times and he laughs and does it again. I have put hum in his crib for 1 minute time outs but i dont want him to hate his crib. Sometimes it qorks and sometimes it doesnt.

Oh gosh jt2378 I hope you are feeling better. Yesterday was the first day I woke up without intense pain in my throat so yay for that! N is still a walking germ of booger’s and bad cough. 🤷🏻♀️ yellowcat ugh. Sorry your H got all fussy about it. king26. Similarly, he ignores us. We do time outs in a corner with him on our lap and our arms wrapped around him so he can’t get away and count out loud to 60/90. Then we give a big hug and kiss and say. Noah we love you but you cannot do <xyz>. It doesn’t work. Dh took his toys away that he kept throwing so idk man. He just hits us a lot in the face when he’s having a meltdown. My parents are here and they are SHOOK at his meltdowns and hitting. And how he doesn’t stop when they say to stop.

addymac oh man im sorry he is hitting. J doesnt hit us yet but screams and cries. We also give him a kiss and a hug when the time out is done. Weve been shutting doors with things in those rooms that he shpuldnt be playing with which makes him mad but i dont know ehat else to do. Im hoping when he starts talking more it gets easier because this stage is rough

Agreed. I hope when he starts talking his hitting and punching and screaming meltdowns will calm down.
That being said, he pinched my dad today and he dad just lightly pinched him back and then he just kept pointing to his hand where he got “pinched” so maybe he will stop with the fucking pinching.
Omg autocorrect keeps making pinching punching. Thank God I reread lol. Pinching. Not punching, my gosh.

I think part of my frustration with disciplining him is that dh and i are both behavioral special ed teachers so i work with it all day and dh did work woth it all day when he was teaching but its hard to use those strategies on a 20 month old lol.
