I’m de-lurking and still processing. But I loved it. From beginning to end it felt like the perfect conclusion to the past 10 years.

When we saw the original avengers movie, we sat next to this woman who was super emotionally invested in every moment of that movie. And when iron man flies into the ...alien hole? or whatever, she yelled “OH NO! What happened to iron man!?” very sincerely and DH and I both thought that was hilarious and have quoted it to each other over the years. I had a big plans to say that to DH during the (anticipated) death of iron man in this movie, but then I looked over and he was sobbing so I decided not to say it.

Just got home. SO MUCH in three hours. So glad I didn’t have to pee, because there really wasn’t a good time to go. My theater gave out free packets of tissues at the ticket booth, which was good. When Iron Man died, you could have heard a pin drop. And during the funeral at the end, I could hear so much sniffling.
I loved pretty much everything about it, especially Paul Rudd (I’m from the same city, so I feel a weird sort of loyalty to him. He’s amazing for our city.)

I basically echo everything mischief , said. I loved it all. I am very sad that Nat was killed too. I had always hoped that they would do a standalone black widow movie. And I was sad that Vision didn't get brought back, because I love the Scarlet Witch and want her to be happy. I was secretly hoping Deadpool would somehow make a cameo, like walking out of the portals when everyone else did. Hulk/Bruce was too much. I'm glad he was at peace with what he was, but idk. He was kind of a buttface as that person. Out of shape Thor was funny, but then I felt guilty for laughing at how he was handling his PTSD...not his PTSD persay, but obviously he was struggling and I felt bad for laughing. The girl power part was amazing. I really do love Brie Larson as Capt Marvel. I love that Peggy and Steve married, but weird that he kisses her niece in the past, because now is there two alternate realities for who Peggy ends up with? Also confused. Is there a 3rd Guardians of the Galaxy movie? Will they talk about how Gamora is alive in the past but future Gamora is dead? Again, confused. How is Thanos so powerful even without the Infinity Stones? That part I don't get. Capt Marvel even was struggling against him and I thought she was the most powerful? My husband very much agrees with you! Would have been so easy to have him stick his head through and back out.

I was just going to let the time travel stuff be all hand-wavey and not give myself too much of a headache, but apparently the writers were working loosely qith the Many Worlds theories and this writer thinks they did a reasonable job of working with current high level time travel theory. qz.com/quartzy/1605534/the-time-travel-of-avengers-endgame-explained-by-scientists/Pop culture can be so educational! Still working on the whole two Caps theory myself, though.

My theater announced there were no end credits (guessing that clanging sound wasn't counting exactly as an end credit), but we didn't get Kleenex. We also had absolute dead silence at Tony's death (after the cheers for I am Ironman), and quite a lot of sniffling at the funeral. I had actual tears at the cheeseburger part. I'm kind of an outlier that I am not a giant Spiderman fan, but darn if that young man didn't do a wonderful job. And I felt more empathy for Pepper than I ever have. I went to a Friday matinee - there seemed to be a pretty hefty percentage of men who had children with them. Guessing a lot of vacation days were incurred.

I've read there was already a script for a third Guardians movie, and James Gunn has returned to the fold. So, I wouldn't be surprised if there is one at all.
Paul Rudd has been great in the MCU - and I so loved Hope saying 'we're on it Cap!' - what a great call-back. I just love them as a couple.

The no end scene in the credit was bullshit. This was literally the only spoiler I knew going in tonight and thank God. I'd be really annoyed to sit through the credit and get no scene after such a long movie. Most people sat but I already told H so we bounced.

It was excellent. I'm on board with most of the up thread commentary. I'm still processing but will keep up here. We plan to resee it again in like a week or so.

I'm glad he did. I was in a lot of pain by then, and each moment in the seat was agony. I was ready to get out of there.

I gave the 3D glasses collecting worker the biggest stink eye as we walked out. Because HE KNEW there wasn’t an end scene and just let us allllll sit there.

Our theater had flyers posted that said there were no end scenes. People still stayed but we got the hell out before the traffic hit.

I loved it and thought it was a perfect send off to Phase 3 and all the original Avengers. I’m bummed about Natasha, but I didn’t see it coming, which I think helped make it more powerful. She should have had a funeral scene, but oh well. We knew they weren’t all going to live, but I still teared up when Tony and Nat died. It was a really good movie!

Did anyone catch Howard the Duck in the battle scene? I'm reading he was there - I guess another reason to see the movie again!

I think I'm going to need a rewatch. Our AMC was showing it like every 20 minutes all day Saturday. I've never seen the parking lot that ridiculous.

Hello there.
I cried two or three times in this movie.
H and I agreed that it should’ve been Clint that died. I was not happy.
I thought this was a great movie. My instinct is to go to nitpicking the time travel but I’m just going to let it be and enjoy it all.
Even though Tony died, I just love his character’s story arc from the very beginning. He had a beautiful story. When we got home my two year old was playing with his iron man action figure though and I started tearing up again.
I happy cried so much with Steve and Peggy and I know a lot of people are really criticizing it for it actually working with the time travel. But again this is exactly what I wanted for these two so I’m just going to sit in my happy bubble. (There is a theory though that he was the unnamed husband though since it was never revealed in Winter Soldier or Agent Carter who that was).
There’s too much to say right now so I’ll just let that be it for now.

I just got home. I have to say, endgame was just about everything I thought it would be.
The second I saw Clint and Natasha were going to vormir I knew she was going to die. She had that mini speech about how important the Avengers job was and the scene with Clint losing his family.
I loved the going back in time throughout the movies and getting the stones. Sort of like a walk down memory lane. And I admit I cackled at the elevator scene. #dejavu cap!
I went in thinking either cap or tony was going to die. I lost it when they set the "proof that tony stark has a heart" afloat. And when scott was searching for Cassie's name and then found her.
And all in for Steve/Peggy. All. In.
I had other thoughts in the car but I haven't parsed them out yet.

Oh, and this is petty, but I do think it was morally gray to snap and erase Thanos’s whole army. Obviously they were combatants, but I side eye it a little because snapping and wiping out life was framed as pretty morally reprehensible. I guess the way I saw it, the difference was they didn't dust the combatants plus their innocent families on their home planet. What's the difference between killing them all in hand to hand combat vs Tony snapping his fingers? Idk I am beyond fried from just seeing this movie so maybe my morals are a little shaky, but to stop the army that's trying to wipe out the entirety of life in the universe to start fresh with "grateful subjects" by wiping them out instead? Eh. No side eye from me, ya know?
