I know y'all are tired of hearing me complain about this so feel free to skip over my rant...

The ENT said last week that he wants a culture from H's ear the next time he gets an EI. He mentioned the pediatrician's office but I have no clue if they can do it or not. I scheduled an appt for this afternoon and I'm waiting for them to open to see if that's even possible. In the meantime, I called the ENT to see if they have any appts this afternoon for a swab, just in case, or to see if I can just do it myself and bring it to their office or if a walk in clinic can do it. I'm sure it has to be put in a tube or something. Anyway, only the nurse can schedule same day appts so they transfer me to her voicemail. I've left her voicemails in the past and she usually doesn't call me back until the afternoon, which will be pointless for me since I work 45 min from daycare and the location the ENT is at is 45 min from that and they close at 4:30. So I will be bugging the shit out of the ENTs office today until someone answers me.

Then the immunologist replies back to my email regarding H's prescription with the antibiotic and whether we should change it or not. He obviously didn't read my email or didn't understand the issue with the prescription. Then he asks for my thoughts on whether H already had an infection brewing when we started the meds or whether he needs more time on the antibiotic for it to work, etc because this med should do the trick. OMG you're the doctor here, shouldn't you know?

Morning! It's a gorgeous day so I'm more than mildly bitter about being stuck in the office, but what can you do?

Chase was talking to me yesterday about R, who is the girl at school who he just adores. She was out sick last week but I saw her in the parking lot with her Mom so I mentioned that she was back. He was telling me how he played with her all day and then for no apparent reason, he says "But Mom, I just like her and she likes me, that's all". He said it so matter-of-factly and it was adorable. There are times when he seems to catch on to how cute we think their friendship is, like when he was photographed a bunch of times playing with another girl from his class about a month ago. We jokingly asked if she was replacing R and he told us - quite seriously - "she's a girl too but she's not R". I keep joking about what their mutual obsession says about Chase and R because honestly, they're practically identical...

Says the woman who married a man who could be her own brother.

ANYHOW there's a new boy in Col's kindergarten class and they sat together at lunch yesterday, so Colin's all excited. He's been showing a lot of attitude lately so it's good to see his sweeter, more sensitive side peaking out now and then. He's just grown up so much this year, I veer between accepting it and getting really emotional. He'll forever be the kid who changed my entire existence, you know?

tgrimes vent away. I'd be blowing up the phones at all the offices, until someone gives you an answer. Shouldn't be that hard to take care of this!

I really wanted to just show up at their office this morning until they saw me.  But I have to be at this luncheon at 11:30.

joelies, I've heard that spouses who look alike are most likely to be compatible. I have no clue where I heard that or if that's true. My sister and I always laugh about it though because she's a super pale red head and her H is Haitian and very very dark so they're pretty opposite.

This day, smh. N threw her hat out of J's window during rush hour and we we're running late, so I couldn't stop. I was soooo angry. I just went back and thankfully someone had picked it up and hooked it onto a trash can. It's squashed a little, but still usable. She is a lucky girl, her teachers were like oh she can tell she's in trouble bc I was barking at her at dropoff.

And I forgot work shoes, so am wearing flip-flops and a dress right now 🤦. Thankfully all video conferences today..and I forgot my water bottle. Lordy, I'm a hot mess.

They can't get me in today. Well, they could do it at 1:30 but I won't be able to make it there in time. I'm so fucking pissed right now. Yes, please make my child wait until the 3rd day of his EI to get seen. The nurse (for a different doctor) said it would be fine to wait another day. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME LADY? My kid is miserable and I can't start the fucking drops until this culture is done. Yes, please make him wait another 24 hours.

I'm in tears right now.

You better believe the ENT will be hearing an EARFUL tomorrow.

He's already missing work to attend M's parent/teacher conference.  He'd have to miss another 2-3 hours for a visit to the ENT.

I'm waiting to get a manicure. It's been 2 months. I let them go as we were moving and unpacking since they would have got destroyed anyways. I'm so excited to have pretty hands again. My nails are so discolored and ugly when they're not done. And I have a eye brow wax and hair trim at 1. Then I need to pack..

The woman getting her nails done now is being snippy to my favorite tech.

I'm so pissed for you and H tgrimes. It shouldn't require an appointment to take a quick swab. Just dap the fluid and keep it moving.

Today is the 2 year anniversary of my Dad's passing. It still seems so surreal that he isn't here any more. The other day we were having breakfast for dinner and Cadence announced that it smelled like Grandpa's house. He always made breakfast for us early in the morning, so I'm glad she has that memory. I also put little strawberry candies in her Easter basket and she remembered they were the ones that he always had at his house in candy dishes for her.
