As you know j isnt good at sttn. Since he stopped eating at night a month ago he wakes up ince but goes back down with us just giving him a hug and kiss. Hes actually sttn several times in the last week which us nice. New problem is the last 10 days he wont go to bed or nap on his own. He stands, cries, and yells for us. We have to go back in 2 to 4 times to rock him, pat him, etc. He hasnt done this in at least 8 or 9 months. I hipe we dont have to sleep train again.

addymac I am not. I hope everything is okay with her. king26 I am impressed he used to go down on his own. Toddler H never did. He still gets the night time sippy cup and milk in dh's lap and falls asleep and then is transferred. I have heard that 18-20 months is a big sleep change and some people have to re sleep train. Hope he just starts sleeping on his own again. Toddler H still only has about 10 words. addymac, I may have just missed it on the board, but did you get N's hearing tested. Was it normal and does he have more words now?

His hearing came back normal and he has a few more words but they recommended an EI evil bc thy saw how frustrated he was when he had a meltdown bc he couldn’t tell us why. So we did get an EI evaluation and they said he’s 31% delayed - at the level of a 12-15mo so we are going to start speech therapy 1x / week for 1hr in a couple weeks. (Need to be at 30% or more to qualify for therapy). He is talking more and says random words like awkward and babbles sometimes but won’t say two words or will mostly communicate by pointing or hitting sooooo here we go.

Sorry he gets so frustrated when he can't communicate. I bet the speech therapy will help. That makes me feel like I need to get toddler H evaluated, but I know dh will just think I'm being extra and be all surly about it. He mostly points and grunts and makes unintelligible noises if he wants something (toddler H not dh, lololol, although. . .). Definitely no two word combinations. He only has mama, dada, a sound for his brother's name, hi, dog, wiggles, guppies, and a few other sounds, but receptive language is great. I just don't know when in the hell I would do speech therapy if he needs it. Do they ever do it in the evenings, I wonder?

Sorry addymac. One more question. Did you need a pediatrician referral in order for EI to evaluate him or would they do it just on parent recommendation? My pediatrician is super laid back about his speech.

I tagged her awhile back but she never checked in. She did take a break one time for a bit so maybe it’s the same. I hope everything is ok 😕 I sent her a PM just to check in.

My pediatrician is super laid back about his speech. [also I think they would do evenings but they will also go to their daycare or your home if that’s when the best time is available. I actually see a therapist at our playspace we go to working with a kid there. And one of the evaluator therapists said she goes to our playspace to meet one of her clients. We did need a referral, but the audiologists suggested it, so we just told my pediatrician that we wanted it and she said ok sure. She didn’t particularly seem too worried about him but since we asked she said ok. 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll be honest- I was your H in this case. I thought my DH was overreacting worrying about it all, hence I was so resistant to even the hearing screen. But clearly it’s a good thing I got over myself and agreed to get the eval done.

We also give a sippy of milk before bed but then put him rogjt in. J also only has 10 words still but im trying not to worry until closer to 2. If its still the same then ill get him tested.

J started throwing himself on the ground and whining when he doesn't get his way this week. Super fun!
His word count is finally picking up but I still have trouble understanding him. I am pretty sure his hearing is fine because he always hears me sneaking chocolate from another room.

@starzia I hope the last bit of pregnancy goes well. I feel for you- chasing around toddlers while pregnant is exhausting.

I am exhausted. L has been waking up at 4-4:30am everyday for like, 2 weeks. Bc DS is waking up every night for 4 yr old reasons, I’m getting like 4-5 hours of sleep. It is not going well!
Plus they have completely opposite personalities, so L’s extroverted self drives DS crazy bc he is such an introvert. Constantly playing referee with these two so it doesn’t turn into a sibling brawl.

A few weeks of good sleep followed by a few weeks of horrible sleep. Its tiring with one so i cant imagine with 2
