So C still uses a sleep sack at night but he now likes to also have a blanket in his crib. Almost every night when I check on him before I go to bed, he is sleeping with the blanket on his face. It's not a big blanket so I'm not worried about him getting lost in it, but it's kind of scary to see it on the monitor. He always liked to put something on his face while he sleeps. He used to do it with his wubba pacifier when he was younger. Do any other kids do weird things like that? H often covers his face while falling asleep. Either a blanket or stuffy or even my shirt if he can manage it. Once he's asleep though he doesn't pull anything up.

I had one of those moments with a contractor yesterday that got me in an absolute rage. Trying to get a dead tree removed from the backyard.
Contractor: Do you want me to call your husband and talk to him? Me: No, we have a few other guys coming to give quotes and he and I will talk tonight. C: Are you sure? I can talk to him. Me: No really, it's fine, he and I will discuss once we have all the quotes in. C: **goes down driveway, gets in car, calls MH**

AND I would let him know.

Vent ahead So DH left today for 3 weeks. When he got the call a few days ago I asked SIL if they would take the boys for this weekend as I have work and it's Easter so obviously babysitter will be home with her own family. SIL says yes not a problem. So the boys will be there Easter morning and come home for dinner time. Sucks but that's it. C has had to do it a few years ago as well. SIL and MIL always go overboard with stuff and buy the boys presents for everything. For Easter time, whether we are there day of or go visit a day later they always have an egg hunt plus baskets (unnecessary but nice). So I wasn't too concerned about the boys being there Easter morning and waiting until dinner time to see what Easter Bunny brought here (keep in mind we literally do a toy, a book, a chocolate, and an egg hunt, so it's not like they are expecting a massive amount of stuff thry would be eager to get). So anyway. DH tells me that SIL told C that Easter Bunny is gonna go there so he don't need to worry about not being home. I think "ohh cool thats nice of her". Yesterday MIL was here and asked me for the boys Easter stuff "so we don't need to try to sneak it when SIL picks them up Thursday. I'm like huh no we are still having Easter when they come home, I assumed SIL just decided to put some stuff out for them there. MIL says "ohh you're probably right, I'm sure she has more than enough". This afternoon SIL texts me wondering wjy MIL told her I'm not sending up the Easter stuff. I say the same (Easter bunny is coming here). She's like "we already told C that he is coming here. I told him I have a present for them too so I can't put that out from Easter Bunny". I say to her "girl you gotta have these conversations with me, not DH, apparently he leaves out details and I'm the one who organizes this stuff". She gets all weird about me bringing up DH saying there was no conversation, it's not on him. I'm super confused why she's getting weird about "conversation". So I say "look its not a big deal, but no one told me we have to send up stuff, I don't have extra. If I had been told I would have had it. I'll send up egg hunt stuff and some small prizes (leftover lootbag stuff) and I guess I'll try to get to the store to replace it for here." She just replies OK. So then I message DH (angry) like why didn't you tell me this was the plan (and why the hell did you agree to it, it's not necessary and just makes more work for me). He says he don't know what I'm talking about as he didn't have any conversation. I'm like YOU ARE THE ONE WHO TOLD ME, YOU HAD TO HAVE HAD SOME SORT OF CONVERSATION FOR THIS TO HAVE BEEN DECIDED. Nope, he just overheard SIL telling C so passed along the message to me in case C asked me about it, and assumed the same as I did that she was just doing a little something herself. So. Without even discussing it with us, she went ahead and told my children that the Easter Bunny would be going to her house, and decided that I would be giving her our stuff for this to happen, which would mean that she decided without even taking to me that I wouldn't be doing Easter with my kids. Like WTF!!!!! I appreciate you helping out and taking them while I'm at work, but I am their mom, you do not make these decisions. I'm actually to the point of HATING that I ever need their help.

For those not on SC, B has an ear infection. I feel terrible because he's been running an off and on temp since last Thursday. When I brought him to the doctor last Friday (moreso for J who had the croupy cough), they checked B out and said he was fine. So, I didn't worry. Today, he woke up much worse than he had been all week. I felt bad because I had a dentist appt that I could not miss...so I dosed him with Tylenol and Benadryl and left him with my MIL. She called me at 3pm when he woke up from his nap and said he still had a fever so I called the pedi and got him right in. Ear infection and sinus infection. Gave him his first dose of antibiotics and kid was running all over the house. I am hoping tomorrow he's feeling more like himself.

waitwhat You’re good. M’s ear drum ruptured once from an EI. I had no idea because she never had a temp over 99.5. Hence my purchase of the otoscope. I highly recommend it to rule out EIs in the future.

danib she definitely should have talked to you before deciding what the plan would be. It's weird to assume that you'd just send YOUR stuff up there.

And like, they are coming home day of. It's not like an extended period of time would pass where it would be weird to have the stuff still sitting out.

+264849300 to that being weird and overstepping boundaries! Does SIL have kids? I cannot comprehend in what universe this would be okay with discussing it first!

DH is up in Maine!
Backstory: ILs live on an estate as caretakers of the property. FIL built the house and the caretaker’s house on said estate. The owner has been diagnosed with skin cancer and prostate cancer, and their baby girl had her first grandchild so they told ILs they will probably be selling the property. So ILs are looking for another place to live.
FIL has it in his head that everything needs to be out now. So DH is up there to get a few things. What is interesting is SIL2 is living with them with her H and son. They are supposed to be out by June but MIL told MH that they haven’t been looking very hard for a new place. (This seems to be a theme with their girls, but this is the first time they gave a time limit) So we’ll see how tonight into tomorrow goes!

The freaking ads on this site are driving me insane the past 2 days. They are huge and making my screen jump and then I click on the wrong thing. Ugh.
I'm hoping for a quick day at work. I'm so ready for a 4 day weekend! We're apparently hosting Easter dinner at our house even though MIL is bringing over half the meal. We'll make a couple things too.
We're going out for Thai at lunch today so I'm looking forward to that.

Its going to be a long day. B is still feeling under the weather but all J wants to do is wrestle with him and B is not having any of that. There has been lots of fighting, crying, and time outs. Its not even 9am.
We are making Easter dinner here also. It's just going to be us and my dad so super simple. We are making a ton of food though and will be drinking mimosas and bloody Marys first thing in the morning. Love that the holidays give me an excuse to make morning drinking acceptable.

I’m back at work. We are hosting Easter brunch (we normally don’t do a dinner). Even though I pretty much host every holiday, it’s normally pot luck style. I’m making quiche and banana pudding for dessert. I’m also getting stuff for mimosas and I might just have one!

He would use his pillow as a blanket and his blanket as a pillow. He eventually figured it out though. O, on the other hand, still doesn't sleep with anything in his crib. He gets so upset if you try to put a blanket or pillow in there. Even if he's not in his crib. I tried again last night before we started bedtime and he freaked out and ran over to his crib yelling in tears yelling "NO! OUT!"
