Hello, I’ve started to wean my 12mo DD2 and over the past month or so I’ve experienced what I think are arrhythmias - what feels like a weird or missed heart beat and then the sensation of an air bubble. I’ve read a few reports that suggest it could be related to the hormone shift caused by weaning. Has any one ever experienced this or had it mentioned by their doctor? Any recs on what doctor I should call? I use an urgent care as my PCP for convenience but have a good relationship with my OBGYN. TIA
TLDR - does anyone know of weird heart stuff in normal while weaning?

I would just call your oB and see if she’ll see you or even give you a recommendation of someone else to see if she won’t.

i had heart palpitations like that while pregnant-- they did an EKG and some bloodwork and everything came back fine. i swear it was related to really bad reflux. i was on antibiotics for strep throat at the time which were upsetting my stomach and i had already been dealing with reflux prior to that. the few times it happened it was when i reclined after eating. so if you are having other reflux or silent reflux symptoms you might want to try zantac or another OTC reflux medication and see if that helps. anxiety can also cause heart palpitations. if you're otherwise healthy i don't think it's likely to be anything serious. anyway, it would be something for your regular doctor to look into rather than your OB.
