doodlemommy Wow - that does sound like a busy (but fun) weekend. Enjoy the high tea! That is one of my favorite activities for going out.

It’s time for the annual water gun fighting/playing to celebrate Thai new year (Songkran)! We had a great time today going out to the street and splashing cars, pedestrians, tuk tuks...pretty much anyone who got in our vicinity (except passing motorbikes, the elderly, babies, and monks - those are all off limits). DS1 loved it, and my dad had a blast. 2 more days of water play to come...and I am sure by Monday we’ll have our fill of it until next year!

We had a fun day of playing outside. We got DS1’s old coaster down for the baby to try and he had a blast. H drove both kids around on the mule...those ATV things, for what seemed like hours. I think they could do that all day long. DS1 and I both got haircuts too. The stylist put green tinted gel in his hair and he hated it so much. Kid needs to live a little and have some fun.

Taitai I saw a clip of the water guns in Thailand on our local news today. It looks like such a neat tradition! How much longer is your dad with you all? curmudgeon I got my hair cut today too! I need a new cut or style but am too chicken to do anything right now. My current cut is easy and as the mom of two toddlers I need easy. doodlemommy what a busy weekend indeed!

DD1 had her first soccer game of the season this morning. DD2 wanted nothing more than to go out on the field for the “ball” (we have another word btw!)
H kept the girls so I could have an afternoon on my own to get my hair cut and shop for a swimsuit. My old one “pre-kids body” isn’t working anymore. Weird post-kids boobs and love handles and all sorts of other things ... it was time. I really like the one I got so that’s a win!

I unintentionally got a new style today. I asked for 2” off and sort of keep it the same and I think she cut close to 5” and it feels so short. I’m sort of freaking out. Lol

danvers The water playing is so much fun. Seriously one of our favorite times of the year. It’s the most important holiday for Thais - like their version of Christmas! My dad leaves tomorrow evening 😭😢. We’ve had a great time during his visit, but the time always goes too quickly. We will be back to the states for 5.5 weeks this summer though, so we’ll see him again in just a few months. Still, I’m dreading having him gone.

curmudgeon I love the hair! I used to have long hair too and then randomly decided to chop it off about 3 years ago and I haven’t looked back! I have a super angled lob/bob. It is really short in the back and an inch or so past my chin in the front. I love it!

It’s growing on me. H likes it a lot and DS1 told me it was better than my old hair. Lol thanks kid.
Is anyone doing Easter gifts for the kids classes? I got some bunny sunglasses for DS2’s class but nothing besides candy filled eggs for DS1. I can’t find the energy to think of anything for his class of 24. I also sort of hope no one gives him things bc I hate when he brings home 24 random trinkets.

We’re not doing anything for DS1’s class...his school actually has a no sweets and no gifts at school policy (aside from hand-made notes/cards). I appreciate that. I also hate getting little trinkets. Plus - all that plastic that eventually goes in the landfill ☹️ We did make Easter cookies again today though! Same recipe as last time, and it was a fun activity to do with my dad before he leaves tonight. They turned out better this time! (frosting was too runny on our first attempt).

Taitai those cookies look so good. What a nice tradition and way to end your dads visit. I realized this weekend that I’ve never dyed eggs with DS1. 😳 so I bought a kit to do it this year.

Ultrasound this morning went great! Healthy baby (and only one to DH’s relief), HB 169. Measuring at 13 weeks (I thought 12). Sitting in the lab for blood work, crossing all the things the wait is on the short end so I can get in before I have to leave to get DS to his 18 month immunizations and not have to come back later...do not want to attempt a urine sample with DS around 😬

curmudgeon your hair looks great! I'm sorry it wasn't what you wanted, but it DOES look fabulous! Yay for a good ultrasound doodlemommy! I remember being super relieved that there was only one baby in there at my first U/S with DS2. lol

Who watched GOT last night? I stayed up past my bedtime to watch. I’m very sleep deprived due to that and playoff hockey. So much coffee today and a slow day at work is not helping.

My baby will not keep bows in her hair. She pulls all of them out.
Any tips? We have a few types, most are small ones w the metal clips.

Guys. I had a hell of a day today.
My mom had a bunch of plants she wanted to meet up to give me, so E and I hopped in the car and went to meet her about 2.5 hours away.
45 mins in - vomit. Vomit everywhere. Down her shirt, pants, pooling in the bottom of the carseat. Leaking out onto my seat.
And no change of clothes. And 2 baby wipes.
I had to call my mom to pick us up a change of clothes and some wipes because I used all of them and all my napkins to create some sort of half wet car seat.
So, that's how the baby traveled 2 hours in the car with only her diaper on. While smelling like oatmeal and yogurt vomit.

cythe uuuuugh puke sucks. Double sucks in the car where it’s hard to clean. Poor baby is she ok? Did she get car sick? Shes 100% fine. I believe she was chewing on her hand and stuck her hand too far into the back of her throat. Gag reflex kicked in and the rest is history. It may have also been car sickness but definitely not actual illness.

UGH cythe, pukes are the worst. Especially car pukes. I'm glad it was just a one time thing and not a tummy bug.

cythe oh no!! pukes are definitely absolutely the worst - it just goes everywhere and for some reason the smell just lingers in the car. THE WORST! Glad to hear E is well though and good thing it's warmish I gather where you're at? I always keep a bag of extra clothes for the kids, wet wipes, paper towels etc. in the car. I also have a takeout container in case of sudden pukes. BTW what plants did you get cos that's important to know IYKWIM doodlemommy So so glad to hear the US went well and baby's HB is thumping away! So excited for a little baby again in our group. curmudgeon I think your hair looks great! I definitely need a haircut. Just waiting for my folks to get back in about a months time. I need to book their tickets soon. Catch up later. Lil fella just woke up again! from this nap. We're transitioning to 1 nap about a week ago and it's hasn't been great. Lots of tears from him and me. This kid just don't wanna sleep! GAWD!

x BTW what plants did you get cos that's important to know IYKWIM ONE MILLION TULIPS AND DAFFODILS. No really, she sent me so many i was just tucking them in places! I also got 2 huge peony bush roots (❤❤) that I'll divide into probably 4 bushes or so. Some hostas, Columbine, day lilies and regular lilies. Oh and some Aster, which I have no idea what that looks like

That's awesome cythe . We need some pics once you get them planted. I have 2 huge peonies in our front flower bed that I need to split up because they have gotten to be ginormous. They are coming up and are about 15 inches tall - does anybody know if I can split them up now, before they bloom? I don't want to kill them but they are seriously SO HUGE, I have to do something with them.
ETA google tells me I need to wait until September. Which is, you know, football season, which means it'll never get done in September.
