From what you've described your more of a Project Team Lead or Technical Coordinator? What are other positions, like yours, called? Operations Account Specialist They haven’t taken it to HR yet so no idea if this will be a pay raise. I don’t want to go the admin route. While there are ways to move up it’s really hard. Then you reject the current title and request a change. If there are changes within your job description propose them at the same time. |

wineallthetime - Sorry to hear about L, hope she's on the mend quickly! I do NOT like that, chrisy01. That's going to sound/look like a demotion to outsiders, regardless of whether it is or not. That's something to keep in mind if you ever want to look outside or even internally with a group unfamiliar with your actual personal history. I'd definitely push back.

I'm sorry for the illnesses mamabear and wineallthetime ; hope both girls are feeling better soon and L's party can be rescheduled! chrisy01 I have not worked in an organization where there were hang-ups about titles but I get that it's definitely a "thing" and 'admin' would bother me, assuming that's not what I am. Like joelies said, I think it's also not a great move if you want to leave the company at some point. eta: not trying to overstep and I realize you have to consider benefits, etc., but I would be keeping my eyes and ears open for other roles outside of this company. As someone on the outside looking in, they seem to have bungled this from start to finish, on top of the other issues you've experienced. The economy is strong right now and employers literally cannot find enough good workers. You bring a lot to the table, I cannot help but feel you'd be in demand and could potentially find a better landing spot. |

Morning. I woke up with a pounding headache. Dropped the kids off and planned on calling in for the morning to sleep it off. I checked my email first and got sucked into a bunch of crap, including training a girl we hired in our Illinois office on some things which is impossible when we’re in different offices and she’s going off of zero knowledge but my boss expects her to be able to jump right in and do my job. 🙄

Also hi from the office. Colin is home again today and seems a bit better. No crazy fever and more energy, though everything's draining so he sounds like he needs to blow his nose, even immediately after doing just that. Even his ears are draining - he slept on his right side and woke up with his right ear completely filled with wax. I've never seen anything quite like it, not on him anyhow.
Chase cried this morning as soon as I took the cap off the Tamiflu but he got his gummy vitamin immediately after, and that seemed to help a bit. And my doctor put in an Rx for Tamiflu for me last night so that's one more to add to my current repertoire. I'm concerned Customs may send me back home on Sunday night, LOL. And this morning I'm playing the fun game of "am I coming down with the flu or is AF imminent?" It could go either way but suffice to say, I'm not feeling so hot. Thank goodness DH's health is holding up! I mean it feels like we're in the Twilight Zone with me constantly sick instead of him, but I'm glad someone's immune system is functioning.
I had a video conference this morning with someone interviewing to fill the open PM role. I'll be mentoring whoever they pick so I appreciate them at least letting me talk with the candidates ahead of time, even if I have no real say in who gets the position. To be fair, we don't have any options who would hit the ground running, so there's likely to be a 6+ month period before the new person is contributing in a material way. So I'm just hoping for someone I can work well with in the meantime.

I don't know if this is a confession or what, but I've been thinking about it for a few days now.
I lose interest in a blog when it gets too "popular"/commercialized, whatever. Lately I feel like several of the ones I used to enjoy are now just one big #ad for Nordstrom & Amazon. Guess it's time to find some 'new' new bloggers to follow.

I took the day off yesterday since both boys had dentist appts in the morning. They did great. S even came in and held B's hand when he got nervous then took him to the treasure box to help him pick his prize. So sweet.
Then I dropped the boys at DC and spent the day solo but picked up early for the first T Ball practice. S loved it. It helps that the coach is his BBFs dad and there are 3 other kids from his DC on his team. B was running around with some of the other siblings and kept falling - I didn't notice till I got home that he had a gnarly scratch on his wrist. Oops!

Well fence isn't going in because it rained last night and the rental company said the trencher wont do well. Hopefully tomorrow or Sunday. But I think I might go grab the flags because honestly, that'll probably keep them in lol. We're eating lunch then going to take the golf cart to fils shop so we can pressure wash it off. I got it stuck last month so its covered in horse shit. Which smells just lovely..
Meals are soooooo much easier now. Like total night and day without my parents interfering. And it's so much easier to cook that we're already eating out so much less!
Edit: except last night when I didnt want to cook 😂

chrisy01 I think you should go in with the title and salary you are after as well as keep your eyes and ears open to other companies. MH had a good job that he liked with great coworkers that was flexible with family stuff but they would never give him the title he wanted. He ended up taking a chance and new company is 100x better.

Oh, and listen to this! After I dropped the kids off, I came home to throw some laundry in and decided to take a trip to the super nice grocery store that's about 20 minutes away. I do all my shopping, including grabbing a salad from their salad bar for lunch and some fresh prepared food to make life easier with the kids and check out. I go in my purse to pay and realize my wallet is still in my diaper bag sitting in my living room. I start to panic - I don't want all the food to go bad, but I am 40 minutes round trip to go get it, then another 20 till I'm home! I ask if there's any options, can I call MH and have him send a pic of a cc to use? Nothing. Then I'm about to leave and some nice woman offers to pay. I say no way, and she insists, saying it could just as easily have happened to her. I promise to send her a check as soon as I get home and let her pay for my groceries.
She ended up hugging me and I'm fighting back tears. Definitely restored my faith in humanity. I promptly went home and put a check in mail and added $50 to it.

Wow jewels what a nice break. That is the worst feeling. I'm glad someone kind was nearby! I have left my wallet in the diaper bag a couple times lately and realized it while I was out. I really should keep some cash separately in my purse JIC, but I would probably just spend it and not replace it, lol. |

Hi! Sorry I’ve been so mia. We are going on week three of houseguests. This weekend it’s my fil who is coming to watch the kids because of the wedding I’m in tomorrow. I’m excited to have a night out and stay in a hotel! Plus we are staying at a resort, so depending on how we’re feeling I think we may go grab the kids Sunday morning and bring them back to swim.
Also... I’m in a funk and that another reason I haven’t been posting. My mom has started seeing things again and my dad is really struggling and he’s lashing out. I understand how hard this is for him, but it’s to the point that I’m having anxiety every time I talk to him.

They are FINALLY here burying the line for my internet. And A talked the guys into burying our fence with their trencher for cash on the side. Not sure thats legal.. but hey, I'll have my dogs here! And saves A so much time and effort.
I also got my golf cart clean, A and my dad moved his tool box and our outdoor freezer here. We're feeling so accomplished.
