I actually meal planned and went to 2 store to make sure I have everything I need. Now I just need to stay motivated to actually cook it all.
Monday- Chicken Francaise, yellow rice, green beans, crescent rolls.
Tuesday- Filet Mignon, baked potato, carrots, applesauce
Wednesday- Stuffed shells, garlic bread, Cesar salad
Thursday- Tacos, Spanish rice
Friday-Leftovers or Pizza

Im trying to take hold of my portion controls, so I meal prepped for myself on Sunday for lunch and dinner. —Ground lemon turkey, garlic roasted broccoli and cauliflower, and radishes —Indian spiced chicken, spinach, red peppers, and cucumbers. Salad with balsamic every night.
Everyone else is eating: S: homemade McGriddles, latkes,and mixed berries M: Thai quinoa and chicken salad Tu: chickpea pasta with sausage and salad W:Rueben casserole and garlic spinach Th: honey mustard chicken thighs, sweet potato wedges, and roasted broccoli F: pizza Sa:out or takeout

Last night DH made 'steak with pan sauce' (which was delicious, if anyone wants a recipe for a good steak dish), twice baked potatoes, and salad
Monday: Spaghetti + meat sauce, Caesar salad Tuesday: Crock pot pulled pork sandwiches, cole slaw, fries, corn on the cob Wednesday: leftover pork, baked sweet potatoes, green beans Thursday: stuffed chicken breasts, wild rice, leftover green beans Friday: mom's night out/DH and kids will probably get pizza

Sunday: Indian take out Monday: carpaccio with salad & bread Tuesday: Chinese take out @my parents Wednesday: chicken taco’s with homemade pico de gallo & guacamole Thursday: out with a friend (soup & sausages for Dh/kids) Friday: steak tips, fries and salad
So yes very good week....

guster talk to me about this ground lemon turkey. I always want to buy ground turkey/chicken/pork, but don't know many good recipes. No recipe or anything, but I just browned the turkey with garlic cloves, salt & pepper. I added paprika, parsley, lemon zest and juice of a lemon. I use ground turkey, chicken and pork as I would ground beef. I do a lot of meatballs with ground chicken and turkey: Garlic rosemary, spinach and feta, Indian spice with raisins and pinenuts, and the very controversial chili sauce and grape jelly.

So do your kids really eat all these meals? I feel like my kids will eat any sort of chicken or meat, but that's about it. I'm looking at these meal plans in awe. jewels I read some of the menus and feel the same way, there is no way Evie would even try it. I was SHOCKED Sunday when she tried salmon at my moms. Kid is basic, grilled chicken breast or pork chops, she's fine, but do anything too extra to it and she won't touch it!

It’s not a texture thing (surprisingly) she says it has a certain taste to it so I let her cover hers in whatever condiments she requests. She also prefers that I don’t serve one pot meals because she tells me at A) there isn’t enough on the table (not at all in a bratty way, I just tend to over cook so she’s used to a certain look at the dinner table) and B) she likes everything “smooth and separate“ Sometime she is too vocal about it and that ruins dinner for Charlie. That was last night’s debacle. They both ended up having a waffle with peanut butter. I couldn’t even get them to pick through the quinoa to pull out the veggies and the chicken they like. They both love meat/chicken/fish and most vegetables are like quinoa and really depend on the day. Broccoli, salad, cucumbers, and asparagus always get snatched up. They’re both good eaters overall but will certainly go through hunger strikes and phases of not eating certain things or ONLY eating certain things.

jewels I'm not quite as an adventurous cook as Guster, but we like a diverse menu; my kids will generally eat what we put in front of them. They love spicy food, Asian, etc...stuff that I didn't learn to like until I was older. B adores raw oysters, which is crazy to me, and also means I have to share . I was somewhat picky as a kid and I don't really know what we've done to make them this way, other than I have never really prepared separate meals for them, and we encourage them to try different foods at home or in restaurants. If B turns up his nose at something, I ask him, "Would Mommy serve you something that I knew tasted bad?" He'll say 'no' and then try it, and usually likes it. eta: don't get me wrong, they also love hotdogs and nuggets! I have found with certain foods, too, that it took them eating it multiple times before they liked it. B had a hang-up about mashed potatoes, of all things, for literally years. Now he loves them; I always asked that he at least try one bite. Same with a couple different vegetables. Or like, he prefers raw broccoli to cooked, so if I roast some for us, I will leave some uncooked for him to dip in ranch.

mwhip I use ground turkey in lieu of ground beef. I put it in my spaghetti sauce, use it for taco meat, put it in quesadillas, meatballs, etc. I don't make separate meals for the kids, with the exception of Sunday night. MH put too much spice in the thai pasta. I could barely eat it. H took one bite of shrimp, spit it out and was trying to wipe his tongue off with his hand. lol. M usually resorts to asking how many more bites she has to take. If they really won't eat what we're having, they can have fruit. ETA jewels

guster Josie reminds me of myself as a kid. I used to tell my mom I didn't want things "stacked" (like casseroles, lol) and if we had something like beef stew, I wanted the beef separate from the potatoes, separate from the carrots, etc.

jewels trust me that 9 out of 10 meals ds won’t eat... We al sit at the table for breakfast/lunch/dinner, but usually don’t eat dinner until after the kids go to bed. It takes so much time and energy to get ds to eat even the food he does ‘like’ (I really don’t think ds likes eating at all), that my food will get cold or I eat without realising I eat and with me being on a diet I hate that. I do feel really guilty about it, especially since dd would probably eat a bigger variety of food than the ones she is offered now.

My kids are super happy to double down a hotdog, chicken nuggets, fries and pizza. Also, there’s an episode of Pete the cat on Amazon prime that talks about the three bite rule. We try to stick with that with any kind of new food. My girlfriend has two very picky eaters, and she sets up a tasting plate. It’s a little more involved, but they have their regular meal and then each family dinner has a tasting plate of new things or food prepared differently that they have to try (I don’t know if she does this separately or it’s what she and her husband are eating). The kids get marbles in jar if they do. No marble is taken away if they don’t.

My meals are pretty basic but DD doesn’t eat much and doesn’t eat any chicken so that makes it hard. She doesn’t eat with us 3 nights a week though because of her practice schedule so those are chicken nights. She would live on steak and strawberries alone.

jewels my child eats nothing. Right now she is on a mac and cheese kick, and not even good mac and cheese, it's like store brand easy mac. Every meal I put in front of her gets pushed away and she asks for mac and cheese. Bites of the current meal have to be taken before I will relent and let mh make her easy mac.
