Week/EDD: 30+4, due 6/6
Baby is the size of: a 3lb cucumber?
FTM, Etc: FTM
Team: 💙
Appointments: none this week
Milestones: hit 30 weeks! Just 10ish to go!
Symptoms: the same, back pain, some heartburn, still on nausea meds.
Rants: H and I are getting really frustrated with a particular friend who keeps telling us we have no idea what we’re getting into. Yeah, we obviously don’t know what it’s like to parent a newborn 24/7, but after 3 years of trying to get pregnant we both know how much we want this. Either give helpful advice or move along!
Raves: I’m feeling really refreshed after spring break! I needed my break just as much as my students did. Now to just get through the rest of the semester, and finish the to-do list in the house, and...

bonzo, how unhelpful of your friend, especially after how much you’ve gone through to get this far! Parenting is certainly hard and a huge adjustment, but also so amazing. I’m sorry they are being such a downer!

Week/EDD: 28w4d
Baby is the size of: a coconut
FTM, Etc: stm (ds will be 4 in July)
Team: blue
Appointments: last week I had my follow up ultrasound and everything looked great! My blood pressure was also back into a normal level so I’m now feeling like I can maybe relax a little.
Milestones: 3rd tri!
Symptoms: Sore back and hips occasionally, but really I’m feeling great!
Rants: Still no word on our housing situation, but I’m just pretending we’re staying here.
Raves: I got the baby’s room put together for the most part. I’m waiting to put up the crib until we actually either sign a year lease or actually need it since baby will be in our room for a while anyway. I also need to get our changing table back from a friend.
I checked to see if we could get away with the baby’s car seat and DS’ car seat right next to each other but they unfortunately don’t fit, which kind of makes our third row useless, but we don’t use it often anyway.
I also think we’re decided on a name and I’m done looking to see if there’s a better one. H might come up with one that we like better still (which is exactly what happened last pregnancy right around 40 weeks and the current first name we have in mind is the same as last time).

Week/EDD: 34+3, 5/10
Baby is the size of: basketball hoop
FTM, Etc: TTM, DS 2, DD 4
Team: green
Appointments: Friday, ultrasound and dr. Going every one week rather than 2 weeks now?
Milestones:
Symptoms: heartburn, movement, no energy, waddling
Rants: baby measured small at my last appointment, so I am going to get a growth ultrasound to check, and going in after a week, rather than every 2 weeks. Both my kids were small, but it is another thing to make me nervous about. Neither was so small that it got brought up during pregnancy.
Raves: my gd numbers have been great, fully diet controlled. My after meal numbers have always been easy, but now my fasting is way below the limit as well, rather than hovering just below, so that is a stress reducer.

Week/EDD: 34w4d.. 5/9
Baby is the size of: a Savoy cabbage
STM, DD is 2
Team: green
Appointments: next week. Since I already have a c section scheduled my doctor said we may not have to do any ultrasounds or anything like that, so I'm looking forward to easy quick appointments.
Milestones: tomorrow will be exactly one one month until my c section!
Symptoms: For the first time this pregnancy I'm just totally exhausted. I think the no sleeping thing at night is really starting to wear me down
Rants: I might have to get DH to start going grocery shopping with me. I went today and halfway through the store I really thought I was going to pee my pants and I was just so uncomfortable. Luckily I made it in time but I'm now I'm scared of it happening for real next time.
Raves: I'm so excited it's April! I worked so hard to get everything ready so I'm looking forward to just relaxing as much as possible and spending time with DD.

bonzo, ugh that's so frustrating. I went through the same thing with my SIL so if I talk to FTM now I always try to just congratulate them and talk about some of the positive parts of having a newborn. My SIL would always emphasize how I'll never be able to take a shower with a new baby and all these other horrible things lol. Not only was that not my experience with having a newborn, even if it had been of course I wouldn't trade it after finally having my DD. Oh and also those people don't usually stop after you have the first baby. My SIL conveniently forgot all the things she told me about having your first baby and now swears that having one kid is a piece of cake but having two is just constant chaos. I mostly tune her out for the most part now because it's not worth it.

courtniko, I hope everything goes well at your growth ultrasound and baby is back on track. How small was he baby measuring? Thank you! She did not say how small. When she measured me she made it sound like no big deal, and since I have been measuring a little small all along it did not occur to me to ask. It was at the end as we were walking out she said she wanted me back for an ultrasound since I was measuring small. I wish I had asked.

Week/EDD: 32w 1d
Baby is the size of: Pomelo? Something like 3.75 lbs and 17 inches.
FTM, Etc: STM
Team: Blue
Appointments: Tomorrow
Milestones: I might get an SI belt soon
Symptoms: Back/hip pain
Rants: Just that it's getting to be spring and we have a lot of farm work to do before the baby even gets here. And I'd like to know what way this kid is pointing, because he's constantly trying to push himself up and out the top left of my uterus. I can't lay on my left side because he kicks/punches the bed/couch like crazy and gets mad. There is always a huge lump there, and I'm not sure if it's his head or his butt. Sometimes I think he's laying sideways, I'm just not good at figuring that stuff out.
Raves: I'm just glad we're getting into the single digit weeks. Two months. Of course we have a wedding that DS is in at 39 weeks so... That'll be fun.

quinstar, I am right there with you on having no idea which way the baby is facing. Often the movements I feel are far on one side or the other, and it just seems like the kid is sideways. I have no clue what part of baby is doing what, head, butt, feet, no idea.

Thanks for the support mamabear02 and sunny75! Honestly, if it weren’t for the way the group dynamics are, and the fact that I’m friends with his wife, I’d seriously consider cutting back on how much we see this guy. He’s such a mansplainer anyway, but lately all the parenting stuff is getting on my nerves even more. Yesterday we had a group over for lunch and board games, and he was telling me how I’m going to have to redecorate because “there’s no way I can have all this nice furniture with little kids”. #1 that’s my business, not his. #2 since we always wanted kids, I bought stuff with that in mind. Yes, my couches are white, but they’re slipcovers! Stains get on them, throw them in the wash! H has spilled chocolate ice cream, and no one would ever know. Etc... He’s one of those people who can be super supportive sometimes, but super annoying and know-it-all other times.

bonzo Sorry you're having to put up with that. I always have to remind myself that comments like that mostly come from a place of excitement and the fact that people LOVE when they feel like they are the "experts" and need to show off how much more they know about whatever it is than you. With DD I just started saying something like "People have been having babies for centuries. I'm sure we'll be able to figure out what works for us when the time comes". Everyone had advice for me after DD was born too. I had to keep repeating "Every baby is different. I'm doing what works for us but I'll keep that in mind." What works for one person doesn't work for another. I'm expecting DD2 to be totally different from DD1.

Week/EDD: (almost) 27 Baby is the size of: squash FTM, Etc: TTM Team: Green Appointments: Nothing this week Milestones: Symptoms: Gas and increased discharge, ew. Rants: I fell on Saturday and twisted my ankle. It hurt like a b*tch. I missed my GD screening, a concert, and spent most of the weekend with it propped up and iced - so didn't get anything done that I needed to. I was certain that I broke something but it's improved, thankfully. Just thankful that I landed on my knees and not my belly. Raves: After giving me a little scare on Sunday, baby has been moving quite a bit and DD was able to feel a kick when she had her hand on my belly. Ugh. I had highish blood pressure again this appointment, and my Dr. started using terms like 'if we don't have to do something different' when she asked what my labor plans were. I was induced with DS1 because I had high blood pressure at the very, very last. So I'm maybe expecting to find myself at the business end of a RCS or an early induction.

I'm sorry quinstar, that is really frustrating. I hope you are able to get the birth you want (standard disclaimer of of course want to do what is safest for you and baby).

I’m so sorry quinstar! The hard part about that is how stressful it is, but that certainly doesn’t help lower your bp! I hope it calms down for you.

Week/EDD: 32+3; 5/25 (will not go passed 5/14)
Baby is the size of: Ovia says the Pomelo, but she’s measuring at 4lbs 15ozs
FTM, Etc: STM. DD is 2 (in a week 😭)
Team: Pink
Appointments: Weeklys. Next 4/11. Today - BPP went well as far as size and activity. Low amniotic fluid (8.5 cm) and I have a head cold. Waiting for the Endocrinologist office to set up an appointment to see if I have GD. I failed my one hour, skipped the 3 hour, and my 2 weeks of sugar checks were not great in the morning or after dinners.
Milestones: Still pregnant.
Symptoms: Heartburn, super uncomfortable, not sleeping.
Rants: I have a head cold. My throat feels like I have needles in it. I feel like I’m hurting this child every time I have a coughing attack.
Raves: My SPD isn’t terrible.

bearfootzcontinued Sorry about the fall:( I fell at 26 weeks with DD1...landed on my belly and broke my ankle and shoulder. They forced me to do an xray (which I was super pissed about) and then did nothing because casting during pregnancy can cause blood clots. I'm still ragey about it. I hope it feels better quickly. The recovery is the worst part since you're already carrying the extra baby weight in front. I'm glad you and baby are ok!
