Hi all. We are lucky enough to have a nice little mudroom. Our yard has tons of pine needles and other miniature debris that gets caught and pulled inside, esp. because our concrete garage floor is crumbling.
Constantly cleaning to keep the floor clean of my white tile mudroom is really making me cranky.
Does anyone have ideas for me? We have mats (one on both sides of the door and one under the shoe shelf), I keep the vacuum and mop in there, but I just want there to be less dirt to clean.
If a picture would help, I’ll try to add.
Anyway, thank you in advance for any thoughts.

I imagine this is the point of the mudroom...to keep the mess contained in that one space. I also hate cleaning tile though, so you have my sympathies.

Yeah, I know it seems silly. I know some people have brush things for their boots or some workplaces have something like a sticky contact paper. I don’t want to go through a bunch of things that don’t work, though. Maybe I’ll just add it to my house wish list to someday replace the tile in there with another color not just pure white.

I am not a visual person so I can't picture the dilemma.

So what is happening is too much dirt/mud is coming into the mud room so the floor always looks filthy cause the tile is a light color?
Well I would add a boot brush outside, a better, thicker outdoor mat, a larger indoor mat and think about a boot tray to put your shoes in outside or inside and change into some kind of indoor shoes kept nearby in cubbies or in a basket.
and plan to always be sweeping up the stuff anyways.

Ditto the boot brush- put it outside the door and it must be used before you come in to take your shoes off. Shoes must be set inside a shoe tray to contain the mess.
