tallb I will check those out. I love Footmates and L'Amour for 'school' shoes and Saltwater Sandals (those things are the best for summer). I stalk Elephantitos (I think they are Spanish?) but they are so pricey...like, $70+ for a mary-jane. What I buy is probably bad enough, DH might kill me for those, lol. Interesting kid-shoe info: I stopped at Dillards kid shoes today and mentioned to the saleslady about the shoes I ordered being so big. She said Nike is the best, in her experience, in terms of children's shoes being "true to size" based on the actual foot measurement. She said she sees a lot of variation with other brands, but Nike is very consistent. Lol! flamingo with her insider tips from Dillard's! Haha! It's so sad (read: embarrassing) when I go in there, literally everyone in the kids' dept. knows me by name.

flamingo client as are adorable, dd has had them for the past two summers and they hold up well. I used to have Elefantinos as a kid, my parents didn’t have much, but always spend a fortune on good shoes for us . I the look of love saltwater, but really can’t justify €55,- for sandals. If I see some in the states, maybe I’ll buy them there. Ha, yes, just order from Amazon when you are here. I think they're in the $30s in US dollars. Then I can resell them on Facebook--b/c they wear like iron--for around $20, so I basically get them for $15 at the end of the day. Bless your parents, that's really sweet I do spend a fair bit on the kids' shoes, but I guess b/c I've always had large/tough-to-fit feet, I'm kind of used to it (my poor mother was shopping for me in the adult section by the time I was in 3rd grade). And any time I've bought cheaper ones for the kids, they wear out and I have to replace them before they're outgrown. So I just bite the bullet and pay more knowing they will last and oftentimes I can even resell them.

J was in a size 1-2 in Nike but needed 13.5 for Plae. I have a pair of supergas for N but I think they need to go back bc they are so heavy, I'm glad I bought them last year at Nordstrom so I can return (haven't worn, just bought then sized up).

There aren't as many shoe stores with everything being online these days though.. if you do a day in Georgetown while in DC on a weekday, you could ship to my house and deliver them or something.

We’re doing dc sunday-wednesday! I thought maybe I can let them be delivered to our hotel. Not sure how hotel personnel would feel about stuff being delivered there...

nam2013 I am sure that's fine, some charge a small fee I think, but I'd just call ahead and warn them

@nm2013 depending on how big the box is most hotels accept packages.
