In other news, NY has banned unvaccinated kids from all public places in an attempt to end this measles outbreak. Obviously not enforceable but something has to be done. I’m so glad C was finally able to get MMR, there were 3 cases in the town that borders us in the fall and I was avoiding certain parts of town. As they should, and probably would have been wise to do it before there were 151 cases. I'm all for them staying home, but I do worry about their kids. That much easier to continue to practice medical neglect when no other adults will see your kids. And I have little doubt the freaks will torture them by sequestering them for a month rather than get them UTD.

So work update, this will be long. My bosses told their boss about our discussion, they are re-tooling the job description, but I don’t think that is going to make any difference. They still are not great to work for. They are really nice people but don’t know a thing about project management. I’m setting up my meeting with C next week. I will give them the time they asked for. We haven’t even discussed pay yet.
I feel like a failure.

chrisy01 you are not a failure...your employer is failing you. You have spoken up for yourself multiple times, you have busted your ass for your company and they refuse to acknowledge you. I think you need to get that resume polished off and start looking for a company that will appreciate what you bring to the workplace. You deserve to be treated with the same respect you give.

I’m sorry chrisy01, you are not a failure. I hope someone at your company sees your value and fixes things.

I had a super fun class in TKD where I got to do sparring and was teamed up with the instructor so I could really let go.
Then after finally getting the kids to bed MH and I made good sexytime. It was long overdue.

@chrisy, you are not a failure. You are valuable to the company, and I’m sorry they are not recognizing that.

trtlcrzy, that sucks. I’ve never dealt with salary negotiations, but I would bet you’re best bet is in person and based on your skills and assists to the company. Good luck!

I recently found out that a new hire makes 70 cents per hour less than me. I’ve worked at my company for 7 years. How do I go about bringing up to my boss than I need a raise? I never really see her so the best communication method is email. I’m pissed at the whole thing so I don’t know how to word this respectfully. I'm a pretty firm believer that people shouldn't discuss pay with coworkers...it never ends well. Snip . I just had this with a new employee. I gave soooooo much hassle, plus it was all about nothing since the new employee had a different contract that made it seems like the made the same (but she would get Christmas/vacation bonuses etc...) I was so annoyed! ETA trtlcrzy I do hope you can talk to someone about this.

All of our salaries are public, so I can look up what everyone makes. It can be a bit frustrating at times but you better believe I look up everyone because I'm nosy like that.

chrisy01, have you started looking at different companies? You seem pretty miserable there, why stay?

We sent the boys to bed without dinner for the first time. Literally could not get them to stop playing around or messing with each other long enough to eat. We tried separating them and they still managed to torture each other. I dont feel bad since both had snacks pretty close to dinner. Hopefully it helps with future dinners. They will be fine. We have sent evie to bed without dinner because she just sat at the table complaining about said dinner and we were tired of hearing it. She now knows that it can happen again, so it hasn't happened since. That's what I'm hoping for!

I have but it’s really hard to leave when all our healthcare, dental, etc are through my job and C’s options are horrible. The benefits I get here are really good. Plus I waited an extra semester so I can have them pay for me getting my Project manager certification with no commitment, out of pocket expenses or repercussions (must get a B or pay for it etc).

Thanks ladies. I’m just not in a right headspace right now. I just need to wrap my head around everything and make a decision.
