Mueller is working with Barr/DOJ to redact some parts of his report for release to Congress, reportedly it will not be shared with WH beforehand: Why does it need to be redacted to go to Congress? I believe for things that are still being worked on by other courts, but it was a long day and I can’t remember lol

Good luck on your next journey @heartbot. I will also read if you need another one. Yes please tell us when it is for sale and I'll happily read it and write an Amazon review! (MH had a book come out this fall, and however you feel about Amazon I know it matters.) I'm so sorry about the layoff but I hope it leads to an even cooler opportunity for you @heartbot. Politics board book club? I'm in!

This is terrible NEW: One day after Trump threatened to shut down "large sections" of the U.S.-Mexico border, the U.S. is cutting off federal aid to Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras in response to what Trump described as incoming migrant caravans from those countries. t.co/YnrOwBj9In

Trump’s campaign sent this text message to supporters: I mean, I guess I have some hope that this will turn off any less crazy supporters he may still have?? I just, I can't compute.

Mick Mulvaney is on SOTU saying Schiff can’t get over 45 being president because he isn’t being nonpartisan.
The entire gop has lost the plot.

I’ll put this here rather than the candidates thread since it’s bigger than just running
Lucy Flores has said Biden smelled her hair and kissed her without her consent at a campaign rally.
Biden says 'not once - never - did I believe I acted inappropriately' about allegations by Nevada politician
I believe it happened. She is not claiming it as rising to the level of sexual assault. But there is something off about both the sides to me.
Biden is very touchy feely, that’s obvious. But his first statement was woof. The second was clean up of the first.
But listening to her it just felt like there was something else underlying I don’t know.
And I want it understood HE WAS COMPLETELY IN THE WRONG

How people continue to consider this channel a "credible" news source is beyond me.

A couple of weeks ago I got stuck in a rabbit hole of right wing videos of Biden sniffing women’s hair and being very handsy, especially with young girls. I’ve been creeped out ever since.

A couple of weeks ago I got stuck in a rabbit hole of right wing videos of Biden sniffing women’s hair and being very handsy, especially with young girls. I’ve been creeped out ever since. It reminds me of one of my professors in grad school. He used to do shit like that along w/ giving grad students - both men and women - weird little back massages in our teaching seminar. It was completely inappropriate and made a lot of us feel uncomfortable. He was also a superstar in the department and taught the only two courses that all grad students had to take, so no one ever said anything. The other profs would warn female grad students to avoid being alone with him. I still feel icky about his actions, but also about not saying anything as it was happening, even though the people in power already knew. He has given me and my friends lots of informal recommendations and introductions, so we’ve certainly benefitted from staying quiet. 😕 Anyway, I wouldn’t be surprised if there are similar emotions coming from women who have worked with Biden. His handsiness is an open secret in politics. For so long there has been a weird social contract for women who work w/ handsy men that enduring the little inappropriate touches is the price you pay for gaining mentorship, recommendations, and a path to power. And you rationalize to yourself that it’s not actually sexual assault and end up gaslighting within your peer group that maybe they are just an extra-friendly individual with no ill-intentions in their hair-kissing, grabbing, and touching. It doesn’t make the handsy behavior any less inappropriate, but it does make the emotions that victims feel very complex (that element of feeling complicit in your own victimization) and makes it trickier to relay those sorts of personality problems w/ pols to the general public. Cause we all know the public prefers to shame the victim rather than a beloved politician. Did that make any sense? I feel very similarly about both Biden and Franken. I find myself wanting to excuse their behavior because that is what I’ve been socialized to do about handsy men. Handsy.

Where you just deal with it. For so long it's just been the way it is.
