Cadence buckles herself and tightens the straps. I check that it's done properly, but she's gotten to the point that she does it really well. She can't unbuckle the crotch strap yet. I may get one of those key things or bucklebees.

$200 later, j is read for t- 😳 I’m now trying to calculate how much I spent for M to start.

I cant even get J to put his straps on, let alone buckle them 🤦♀️

M can unbuckle himself most of the time. Every now and then he might need help. He can be quite slow in the morning, though. Half the time he is still asleep on the way to school. I usually have to tell him to start unbuckling as soon as we turn into the parking lot so we can both hop out once I am parked. PreK can’t use drop off line yet because they have to be signed in.
New school takes in 15 minutes earlier and I don’t see myself getting him on the bus at 630am, so we’ll have to make adjustments for sure. Neither he or myself will be happy about it the first few months.

M is very much in the "pink is for girls" "only boys can be xyz" stage and I think it's because his class is 8 boys and 1 girl. He had his first soccer practice tonight and a few kids were missing but it was him and 7 girls. So hopefully that'll change his tune. I try but he argues with me.

Who knew that stuff could be so expensive. He did get a tee and a few other things, but still! $70 bat, $40 glove, $50 helmet - had to get a youth and not tball bc j has a super wide head. Hopefully he can get a few years out of it and all this can be passed down... Oh and my rothys are too small😩. I'm bummed but may try a pair of flats from JCrew factory for $40 before reordering in a bigger size, that's more my price point.

When TKD finished my friend showed off that she can still do a cartwheel and said the instructor thought hers were better than her 12 yo's. The 12 yo retorted, "He meant considering your age and size."
Ooh, child. Kids are such jerks. 😄

I think I got everything on a deal and I probably still spent a little over a hundred. I didn’t have to buy anything new this year except new pants and socks. Hoping to get one more year out of equipment before having to buy new stuff. Yeah, I hate that pregnancy makes your feet grow. I’ve had to let go of a good bit of shoes because of it.

Points usually need a half size bigger. They used to send the exchange pair so you could try both but I think they recently changed that. ETA. I forgot you were pregnant and everything that goes with feet. Wait until after if you want Rothy's and go for cheaper

It's a battle that will never be won. I've tried explaining that colors don't have penises or vaginas and she doesn't give a crap. Pink and purple are girl colors and blue and I think green are boys.
Just wait until he has a sister, then maybe it will get better. He'll see that she dresses and enjoys colors other than pink!

That will blow his mind. 😆 pink shirt, pink shoes, long hair

And he knows I feel completely broken after having Poppy to the extent that I really believe another pregnancy would kill me. I would seriously throw myself out of a window. Unless he wants to be a widower, he better get on it.

Clearly not. Pretty sure my ego wouldn't let me order 11.5...i mean it'd be weird if I had small feet being so tall, but size 11 is plenty big enough!
