@nam, you need a box. A big one. Charlie got some great interactive birthday toys, but he and Josie have been playing in the box that the balance bike came in since last Thursday. It’s an ugly fixture in our playroom, but I’ve watched shift from a restaurant to an airplane to a stage for little figurines, and all kinds of things in between. It’s covered in stickers and markers and crayons and it really is an eyesore, but it makes them so happy. Hahahahaha this is exactly what he has been playing with for 10 days. It has been a house, a rocket ship & a boat. ETA Which was fine, I’m just done with a 5ft box in my living room We had a "playhouse" in our living room for a good year. Once it moved into my room it became the cat sanctuary, but it has since gone in the trash. I need to get another one just to see what all it turns into now.

My cirkul water bottle has a new sweet tea and lemon flavor. I think I have finally found a way to get my water in and stop drinking cokes. Zero calories!

Morning!
Trying to slay dragons over here, aka catch up on laundry.
The SW handling X’s case is asking if we will go to Anaheim for his play therapy and OT instead of them coming here. NOPE.
Play therapy is two hours/day, at least three days a week. So add the OT, and then we’re going to Anaheim four days/week after school, and we haven’t even squeezed in his two visits each for PT/ST in to that schedule yet.
How is that productive? They would get him at the end of the day, during dinner time, and we’re already having feeding issues. I get to pile my kid into the car after he’s already been away from us all day, and by the time we get back it’s in to the bath he goes. So zero family time during the week. And I do happen to have other children who can’t just raise themselves.
I’m going to have to push back on that schedule and tell her we will wait until they find a provider who can do in home visits. Don’t even care how long it takes.
This is probably overreaction on my part, but I’m a little unsettled that anyone thinks a 2.5 year-old child with SN could thrive on that schedule.

cagoldi Stand your ground, that is a lot and sounds like X wouldn't benefit from it anyway. Besides the toll it would take on your entire family. My mom said the dr already made the rounds and they want to run another test to rule out concussion (which I swear they already did). If it comes back clear, they will discuss sending her home today. Which is good because she was already working in her hospital bed before I left for work. Evie already called me to see how grandma was doing and to see if she can go see her. I told her if grandma was still in the hospital at the end of the day, I'd take her. But we have to discuss grandma's face because I think it will scare Evie with all the bruising and swelling. On a side note, has anyone had good luck getting dried blood out of carpet? Based off my moms fingers and her wedding ring, and my step dad confirming he didn't yet clean the carpet, I have a feeling they will need help getting it all cleaned up. Besides filling my carpet cleaner with water and just rinsing it multiple times, I'm not sure anything will help.

I really wish I had just gotten out of bed at 10:45 to get in the ER and know what all had been done.

Hi!
I have had an eventful morning. It started out pretty good. M2 had his first dental appointment that he did great at. I had to bring M along because he is on spring break but he was well behaved. Dropped M2 at DC in his picture day outfit and then went to bring M to the spring break camp that I registered and paid for at the YMCA and once I get there and sign him in, they say he can’t stay if he has not attended one day of Kindergarten yet. Cue panic. Why don’t they specify that at sign up? Unacceptable. Thank goodness my friend’s girls that live down the street from us are on break as well and home so he is spending the day with them. Now I just have to figure out how the rest of the week is going to go.
I want it to be Friday already.

I really wish I had just gotten out of bed at 10:45 to get in the ER and know what all had been done. a CT scan would have picked up any bleeding inside the brain last night, but sometimes they do them a bit later to rule out any changes. For reference, my mom fell at 7pm and had 1 bleed visible via CT scan that night and then another one visible the next morning (her brain hit the front of her skull and then hit the back of the skull from the impact). She was also basically non-verbal or minimally responsive for days. It sounds like she's in decent shape, maybe a mild concussion even if nothing on the scan. I didn't present symptoms of my mild concussion until I got to work 2 days later and looked at a computer screen when I hit my temple this past fall. Tldr; better to let them do all the tests and rule it out

mwhip try peroxide first. I think flamingo recommended Folex carpet cleaner before. Maybe oxi clean if those don’t work, too? Something has to work.

3 hours later, I have a bad cold 😐 I took the only medication I could find without any restricted ingredients and am going to nap. Hopefully I wake up feeling human.

Hey! It’s 40 today and the snow is melting. H had school this morning and we just hung around the house while she was there. I have spent some time outside putzing around during nap time. I want all this snow gone so I can start getting things ready for the season. mwhip I’m glad your mom is ok. I hope she heals quickly. nam2013 so scary. I’m glad your family and friends are ok. lahdeedah I would be so pissed. They need to clarify if it’s k-6 camp or 5 year old+, because not all 5 year olds have entered K yet. Did you give them an earful?

Thanks everyone, for all the love today. No concussion, she's filling out paperwork to go home. She's more upset that she can't wash her hair until the sutures(sp?) are out, so she asked me to bring her some dry shampoo because she has never used it.
She's definitely acting like her normal self!

I'm so annoyed. We have no runners this week due to spring break. The receptionist came in late because she had an appointment, so I sat up front to cover for her. She then left at 1:15 to go to the grocery store to stock our drinks and snacks. She's been gone for 2 freaking hours!!! It does not take 2 hours to buy cokes and chips! 😡

First chance to check in. Work was nuts then I left early to see my psychiatrist. She was really apologetic about missing my call before and we are working on a plan so I’m going to stay with her until I’m stable.
Now I’m at karate. When we get home we need to FaceTime Dh. C is having such a hard time with Dh being away. We shouldn’t have told him he was going on a trip and I would just say he was at work when C asked. He doesn’t see C at least three days a week. Last night he crawled into bed with me at midnight because he was afraid of bad guys. He has never ever done that and since he’s been saying he misses daddy nonstop since yesterday, I assume that’s why. Hopefully he will stay in his bed tonight since it’s my last chance to starfish the bed!

That’s so scary nam2013. I’m glad your mom is mostly ok mwhip. When do stitches come out? I couldn’t imagine leaving dried blood in my hair that long. I assume it’s still in there.

She said the nurse tried to clean it up, but I could still see lots of dried blood. I went to their house after work with my carpet cleaner and lots of cleaning supplies. I got it mostly cleaned up, but could still see spots, since I knew where it was concentrated. They finally made it home around the time I was finishing up and my mom was her normal self, picking up the dirty towels, getting leftovers out for dinner, so besides the stitches and bruising, she's good. Apparently their neighbors called 911 last night too, their toddler had eaten some berries off a tree in their backyard that made her violently I'll. Busy night in their neighborhood.

I have an all day work retreat today. Joy. It could be fun. You never know. It was fine. Not how I'd necessarily choose to spend my day (I don't work Mondays, so I'd typically be off with the kids) but fine!

I got a Amazon package today and thought it was the boys mattress protectors I ordered. Nope. My friend that helped me last week sent me something for my kitchen that I had mentioned I wanted to order. So sweet and brightened my day 😊

Just another day here. Everyone in the office from Missouri is on spring break so no meetings and quiet week.
Oh, our cousin and his husband matched with an adoptive family in just 6wks and they are expecting late May. It took my other friends 2.5yrs.
