lfig and klong11 your stories are breaking my heart. Addie was found at a local lake with her mom and 8 siblings. Someone had just left them there. There are numerous animal shelters in the area that you can take animals to, hundreds of other options, besides leaving them somewhere that they have limited chance of survival if not found. It makes me hate people. What kind of heartless asshole could do that? I know. It's so sad. I still to this day wonder what happened to the other dog that was with my Macy when MH found her in the park. He tried to catch it but it took off and he couldn't find it again. It was a cold and rainy night in October and when he saw them he stopped. Macy came running up to his truck soaking wet. He opened the door and she jumped right in. But the other one took off. He even went back the next day to look and never found it. We have a no kill animal shelter in a town an hour away. Plus several local animal advocates in our town who will go above and beyond to help out, even transport dogs to the shelter or help find homes, but people don't utilize them. |

Morning. As mentioned above we have some extra cats hanging out. They are big fat cats, so they clearly belong to someone. But I’m afraid we might end up with kittens. I’ve never gotten our 2 cats to get fixed. One is untouchable. She wants to be near us, but doesn’t want to be picked up or touched at all really. I guess if we do end up with kittens it won’t be a big deal because FIL is wanting a few cats for his house to help with the mice. But I really need to get them to get fixed soon! I know you are in the boonies but can you get/rent a humane trap to catch her? You may end up with other cats but you can release them if so. Is there a feral cat organization near you? You may be able to ask them for assistance for trap neuter release. I strongly urge fixing since cats can have really large litters, as you probably know, and there is a massive cat overpopulation problem in our country.

In Boston we had a huge park that also housed the zoo that people would dump cats at regularly. Luckily the employees there were animal minded and would do their best to get them to our shelter. It's so sad how people treat animals as disposable.

Got a call this morning from a debt collector. They said I was listed as a secondary contact for my ex. My ex who I haven't had contact with in over 12 years. I sent him an email saying he better not be trying to fuck me over with his b.s. and if he knows of any place where I'm listed as having information for him he better call them and have that redacted. I am not a point of contact for his loser ass.

Great news lfig! You might try a humane trap for your cats. Cats are only pregnant for a little over 2 months and can get pregnant again within a week of birthing a litter. So one litter seems reasonable until it rapidly turns into 3+ within 1 year alone. I was thinking this, too. Maybe you could find someone locally who has experience with TNR. ETA: I see wedding beat me to it! |

Morning. No school again today. I was supposed to have a meeting before work tonight, but my boss is out of the office so it’s cancelled. H is obsessed with diddy Kong racing. She’s playing it a lot and watching videos of people playing it on YouTube. I guess it’s better than the toy videos on YT. It’s 40 today for the high, so I hope a bunch more snow melts. We are supposed to get a lot of rain tomorrow and they are very concerned about flooding.
The stories about the abandoned animals makes me sad. Too many people take pet ownership too lightly.

Yesterday I believe it was flamingo that asked if we were seeing any improvement in Sierra’s hands. I was kinda wishy washy in my answer because I wasn’t super sure....but today I feel confident in saying yes! We ARE seeing improvement! I saw her grab something this morning with a full hand grip for the first time since September! And they don’t seem as....floppy...as before! I think it’s actually working!! Yay!!!! You were due for good news! |

Figaro is our rescue that seems to just barely tolerate being in a family. He wants us to feed him but not pet him. He doesn't run. But just glares at you lol. And he doesnt cuddle or ever put himself around us. |

I figured as much. He didn’t look like he runs much! I love him though. Figaro is our rescue that seems to just barely tolerate being in a family. He wants us to feed him but not pet him. He doesn't run. But just glares at you lol. And he doesnt cuddle or ever put himself around us. We have 1 cat (shadow) that is a proximal cat, won't sit on you but will be in proximity but she'll come if you put your hand down and get pets. The other (black olive) won't let you pet her or pick her up but if you are sitting or laying down she is sitting on you. We think the previous owners got rid of olive because she can't handle not being on someone and the lady was pregnant. MH and I have been talking about how they are ying and yang |

Its 45 today so we ended up at the park. Matthew was playing ninjas with another boy, I didnt see what happened but Matthew has a bloody lip and a dent/scratch on his nose.... so.much.blood. I thought he lost teeth. He never would bounce back and play so we came home. I bet he bled for 20 minutes.

Home from errands and school, fortunately the girl from MOPS lived really close to one of my errands so it worked out and wasn't inconvenient. Kind of funny, her street name sounded so familiar, and I realized it was on the same street as a house we looked at to rent. This was the cutest house and yard ever, but sadly didn't have a fully fenced backyard, so it wasn't ideal. In hindsight, we should have rented it and asked to put up our own fence, lol.

Why do people call you back when you email them a question? Drives me nuts. If I emailed, email back. If I call, call back. This drives me crazy also. I don't like to talk on the phone, I understand, some conversations need to be had over the phone as email is confusing, but I still prefer everything to be emailed, so I can remember what was said and cover my ass. The other guy who does purchasing here does this...he is included in a group email and will go to the person who sent the email and answer their questions, so everyone else is left wondering the answers. Very annoying. |

I guess I don't understand why these families wouldn't just donate that money to the school? Most universities aren't going to turn down a $500K gift with the 'wink-wink/nudge-nudge' stipulation that you have a kid that's applying who would *really* like to attend XYZ. Sadly, I think this kind of thing goes on at all levels--you're seeing it in men's college basketball (which is really filthy), and college football recruiting is a dirty business, too. I love both sports but there is a really unattractive underside. Not surprised it's infiltrated other areas. |

I mean I thought people just donated a huge amount to get in, but this company arranging cheating on SAT, yikes. |

This paper airplane kit that B got for his birthday is right up there with the LEGO advent calendar on my list of craptastic gifts, lol. Some of these things are super complex and I just don’t have the patience to decipher the directions and make a zillion folds.
I just did ‘The Rocket’ and that is my limit for the week 😂
