cmb , those are great names! That’s so nice to have that hard part done! Husband and I have been thinking baby names for a long time! It’s difficult, since I love weird, unique (But still real) names, and he likes very common names that usually already belong to a friend of his. Our front runners for a girl are Lor.elei Ma.xine Cel.este Ma.xine Our boy name is pretty set, and I know it’s a weird one but it was actually going to be DHs name if his dad could have named him: Ulys.ses Tho.mas We’d probably shorten it to Uly (you-lee) for a nickname ETA periods for safety, forgot that one 🤭

So we do things a little differently. We don't find out the sex and we bring about 20 names for each sex and then decide after it's born. I haven't really looked at names recently so these are the leftovers from my other 2 kids. I plan on adding a couple more for each sex.
Boy names:
Tristan Gabriel Caleb Owen Elijah Cameron Gavin Ezekiel Garrett Caiden Graham Zachary Malcolm Edmund Asher Lance Milo William Desmond
Girl names: Esme Evelyn Josephine Lilian Georgianna Aisley Charlene Galadriel Ainsley Brooke Felicity Gwendolyn Esther Gloria penelope Daphne Claire Alice Lydia Emma Amelia Abigail

peggyhill for some reason, we like getting names nailed down early. It felt strange not naming DS2 until second tri. I don’t find yours to be weird/strange/I don’t recall the adjective you used so I may be off at all. I just think of the president with that name when I hear it 🤷🏼♀️ We tossed around Thomas as a boy name, but both my boys are obsessed with the train by that name 🤦🏼♀️ ETA- I have a Ja.mes and Al.ex.ander “Al.ex” so we’re pretty common going with our first names lol. Both DH and I have fairly common names, too

babystandish , love your naming style! Very classic! That’s a cool way of naming, you can see what they look Iike and get to know them a little before naming them! cmb , It’s good to hear you don’t think it’s weird! My husband told me that was going to be his name and I’ve loved it for about 8 years. MIL and my mom aren’t fans, but good thing it’s not their baby! Thomas is my dads name and was DHs grandfathers middle name. It may be different if we already had kids who loved the train! 😂

We go with pretty traditional sounding names, sometimes with unique spellings/Swedish spelling:
DS is Bri.an Th.omas lost DD was Kri.st.ina Ja.ne
and our names for this one are either:
An.nika Ho.pe Lu.cas/Luk.as? Ste.phen (probably, still undecided on middle name) - I don't love the k spelling for this one, so we might just stick with traditional c here.
we like deciding names early too, and the boy's name is recycled from our last pregnancy.

My MIL says it’ll make her think of the movie Odyssey and the bad acting, but I think once he got here she’d think of her adorable grandson and he would fit it well.

peggyhill I love Ulys.ses! Cool name. We have two boys, so we are all set on our girl name, lol. Sa.man.tha Lou.ise Not sure for a third boy name. We have Lu.ke, Ed.mund or Aus.tin in the running.

We use family names for the middle spot so that’s easy. We added an extra girl name and boy name just depending on what combination of LOs pop out. Girl middle names would be May and/or Ma.rgaret, boys Nich.olas and/or Jack.
First names will be trickier for sure!

We backed ourselves into a corner that I now regret by using the same first letter for all of our names. It started because my husband and I have the same first letter and we both happened to fall in love with a name that fit into that category with DD1. When we had DD2, we figured we'd be done having kids so we did the same for her. Then, we decided on #3 and figured NOW we're done so, why not? We didn't want anyone left out. Now we're stuck because I'm not in love with any other names that fit in.
All that to say....no, we have a lot of deciding to do! I don't know if it makes sense to break out if it now but damn, we are sounding a bit Duggar-y at this point 🤦🏼♀️ (only not J names)

We haven’t really discussed it yet but a few ideas running in my head are:
Girls- Kate, Caroline, Stella, Hallie, Eleanor (my fav but my sister is having a Norah in a couple months which is a nickname for Eleanor so DH thinks that would be weird)
Boys- Theo or Wyatt. I love Micah but it sounds funny with our last name
ETA we will likely be team green again so we go in with one boy name and one girl name.
DD has a family middle name but DS doesn’t. His middle name is DH’s favourite boy name but it was too popular here for me to want to use as a first name (William)

We are Team Green and likely won't discuss names for quite a while. Last time my H wanted us to both make separate lists and then "hopefully" we'd have some overlap. I knew that was not going to work, haha. We did agree on a boy name right away. The girl name H had a very 80s trendy list (not my style) and said he wasn't really in love with any of them so we went with my name (Jose.phine) and the middle name was going to be Ly.nn for either sex after my grandfather (and my mom and me - we all have the same middle name). My H is Jewish and tradition is to use the first initial from a relative who has passed to honor them. J for H's grandpa Jack. So we'll have to figure that out this time around. Narrowing down to two initials did help us immensely though.
