I'm about to burn this place to the ground. How is your day going?

I'm at work. I have a report to finish up for one of my clients but I'm waiting on other people to give me the information I need.

Just home from the gym. H is cranky and tired but I'm not putting him down for a nap. He only napped 1 day last week and he wouldn't sleep that night. So as far as I'm concerned naps are done (unless sick or long car ride because I'm not crazy lol). DH is also home. They are doing repairs on the rig he was on so they had to down-man and he got sent home this morning. I'm rwally frustrated. This is the most unpredictable and unorganized this job has been in 5 years.

This is the most unpredictable and unorganized this job has been in 5 years. So my kids did the no nap deal for like two months, maybe slightly less. On the days they would nap, it would take 30-45mins for them to go down and they’d only sleep an hour. Then they wouldn’t go to bed until like 8/8:30 but still get up at 6am and would be tossing and turning and up five times. On the no nap days they’d sleep 6:30-6:30/7 blissfully. But the past two weeks they picked up a nap again. Thy go right down at exactly 12, sleep until 2. And then still go to bed around 7/7:30 and wake up at 6. And that sleep is SOLID. So who the hell knows. My mom lets them nap later in the day and they still do fine. MIL “can’t” get them down for a nap so those are no nap days. It’s all over the place, I don’t like it.

I'm here. I just need to make it through this week and then I've got 3 short weeks ahead of me. In the meantime I'm still buying all the shit off Poshmark. Can't stop, won't stop.

I have a love/hate relationship with nap time. I like the down time for myself to either lay on the couch or get some chores done, but I hate that we have to rush back home by a certain time in the mornings or we have to wait for O to wake up before we can go somewhere. But he rarely skips naps, so I don't think we're anywhere near stopping nap time yet.

We won't be giving it up anytime soon.

C still needs his nap too. He wants to fight it but the kid can't make it all day without one.

Speech done for the week! She's very impressed with L learning Baa baa for sheep, neigh neigh for horse so quickly. We're also hearing new sounds and words. I'm not sure what this means for him but she said that him responding so great could mean it is motor planning issue (apraxia). Otherwise, not much going on today. Play date later this afternoon after the other mom finishes her homework (2 papers due before 5pm) and her babysitter is sick.
Speaking of naps, is it ok to do one nap a week? L will be a nightmare on Wednesdays if he doesn't get one. I teach swimming from 5:30-6:30 and even if we don't go to dinner after and do it before, he's still out of the house till 7:30pm. I'm not ready for naps to be done!!!

Although if he keeps pushing back the timing of his nap, I probably need to wake him after 2 hours.

PDQ, I'm going to delete this later.
Short version: people trying to blame me for something that isn't my decision to make and they didn't listen anyway.

goldenlove, I'm so ready for you to get on Maternity leave and be away from that place for a while. I actually think I'm going to look more seriously for something else after my leave is over. I'll look internally but I really would like to find something closer to our new house.

Just between playgroup that morning and my job that night seems like a lot! But would that mess him his regular schedule if we move away from naps?

J is still also napping great. I put him down around 12:30 and he's usually out within 5-10 minutes. He normally sleeps 2.5-3 hours. Now before you all get mad at me, his night sleep is shit. So I feel like a 3 hour nap is my reward!

I feel like that is a long day without any naps so having 1 nap on Wednesday would be good for him most likely.

We’re at a crossroads with nap too. The days she doesn’t nap are the only ones that she doesn’t take an hour to fall asleep at night. But, she falls asleep for a nap no problem in 5 minutes every day for about 1.5-2 hours which makes me think she still wants or needs one. Yesterday was a no nap day and y’all saw by my post at the end of the day how that afternoon went. So idk. I should stick with an entire week of no nap and sees what happens. Maybe she’d compensate with an an extra hour at night if I’m consistent with it.

No, he usually does 1 nap between 12:30-2:45 (but he probably doesn't fall asleep till 1:15ish) this past weekend we didn't do naps and he was cranky by 4pm and tried dozing off. He slept better at night though. I was just thinking if I moved away from naps completely, Wednesdays when he has 2 big things for him (playgroup for speech in the morning, and being in childwatch from 5pm-7pm) a nap is still needed that day. Then curious if y'all thought one nap once a week going to mess with his schedule (not including sick or if he's tired). Lately I've been feeling him out during that day. If he seems cranky, he gets a nap. If he seems like he's high on life, I won't put him down. I'm sorry if that's confusing.

sophiegrace , that's where I am on naps too. Do I just stop them... or do I continue because he does sleep!?! I'm just not ready for him to be done with naps as he hates the vacuum cleaner and afternoons are the best times for me to vacuum. I can't do it at night or it makes it harder for me to sleep (I need calm and quiet for about an hour) but with 3 dogs, I can't not vacuum or the hair balls look like the wild west.
