B has been eating everything the last few days so we think growth spurt soon. He’s also STTN basically the last 3 nights. Like we had to wake him up this morning. Weirdo.
He’s also walking FINALLY and has started climbing. We had been using our Christmas tree box to block off the bathroom with the litter, but he dove over it over the weekend so we finally put it up.
His 15mo appt is Monday.

Good for you laurensc927! I really need to get my butt in gear, but I think it'll need to wait until DH's dad is settled because DH is still spending a lot of evenings visiting him, working on stuff etc. so I can't really schedule in evening work outs and since I'm solo parenting DD through dinner and bed I am not terribly inclined to work out at home after that! But I can continue making excuse all day if anyone is interested

His doctor said he wanted him walking by his 15 mo appt, so of course he took his happy time. I’m putting together treat bags for his daycare teachers because they worked hard to get him going.

Did he say why he was so set on having him walk at 15m? I wouldn’t say that’s “delayed” by any means. My niece didn’t walk until 22 months (the day before her sister was born!) and I wouldn’t say they were terribly concerned. Everything checked out ok- she just took her sweet time. Her dad is a Doctor too and he was like “eventually she will walk” and she did.

N did not sleep well last night. Still going to blame the time change lol. Because of that we had a big cry at drop-off this morning. He only does that once in a while, and I know he was fine a few minutes later, but it's still hard to walk away from. Reading "Happiest Toddler" right now, and feeling bad at how short my fuse is sometimes, especially when I'm tired. One of the suggestions he makes is to get more sleep. REALLY? YOU DON'T SAY. Don't beat yourself up about the short fuse. It's hard. I just look at every day as a new day and a chance to grow/learn as a parent. 🤷 I generally am more patient than dh or my parents ever were but damn it, it's hard.

This is me too lately with the short fuse, I might look into this. I think mine stems from feeling overwhelmed and mom guilt so I'm listening to the Mommy Reboot book cnf suggested.

Same baby who has already barrel rolled down the stairs.

So tired. So tired. Made two suppers this evening. One for us and one for friends who just had a baby. And dessert. I was just going to make one big pot and the split but I ran out of noodles so I quickly had to make something else for us. Wasn’t a huge deal just more work. I’m just so happy for my friends. This is their 4th baby. And they’ve struggled to conceive every one. She actually did daycare for a year for my oldest when I went back to work after he was 1. Him and her daughter are 3 days apart and still the best of friends. It’s so cute.

My doctor didn't say a word. He also never crawled or really pulled himself up. He went from doing nothing to walking in about a month. E has been walking for about 2 months.

Morning. It's a dreary day today and they are calling for thunderstorms tomorrow but it it's also suppose to reach 60*. I have yet another cold, so I'm looking forward to spring!! Also, in case anyone is interested- the giraffe is still pregnant and therefore I am still obsessively streaming it...🤦

I'm here. Today is my long day due to staff meeting after school. Yesterday was terrible with one of my students. His mother literally dragged him from my classroom at pick up. He was so bad that when I left I felt really terrible for my other kids. He's on a thin line right now and my principal is on standby. Unfortunately, she wasn't here yesterday and so I didn't have any support. These extended days are killing me.

👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
Work has been so crazy lately. I’m feeling overwhelmed and so ready for vacation in a week and a half.
DD1 walked at 13 months, DD2 more like 15 months. Our pedi never said anything about expectations. There is such a wide range!

Hi Ladies!
We all caught a cold again, thankfully it’s pretty mild. I just need to be healthy Friday because my H and I are going to the JT concert on Friday!
While spring cleaning I found an old Nsync shirt from High School. It’s like cartoon heads and it’s awesome. I remember getting it at Mervyn’s even lol. Anyways, perfect timing! I hope it fits still.
Things have been slow on the photography front, waiting for a couple of babies to be born to do their newborn sessions. But then yesterday a photographer that I love messaged me and asked if I’d want to be a second shooter for her this wedding season. I don’t really have plans of becoming a wedding photographer but I know it will be great experience and I can learn a lot from her! I’m really excited!

Re: Climbers. I was blessed with 3. Countertops. The fireplace mantle. Dinner table (literally there was a phase where they kept getting out of their high chairs no matter how tight 😱) Gianna started gymnastics at 18mo and we’ll start Siena & Paris in it this summer too. At least then they’ll be more coordinated/strong and less of a danger to themselves? Lol idk I feel like it’s been really good for G.

Ds1 got into the junior kindergarten program we've been looking at!! And tested conceptually as a 6.5 year old (he's 4) 😯 I'm feeling way less stressed about next year.

Good morning! We’re supposed to get into the 40s today, but with rain, thunderstorms, and tons of melting snow so it’s a mess.
C seems to be almost back to himself, but I’m taking him in for an ear check tomorrow to be sure. One of his eardrums was a bit red on Sunday at his appt, and I want to make sure we’re good to go before we leave for Florida on Sunday.

I totally think it is true for many kids, and it seems to happen more with boys in my very limited experience. Case in point, my H (at least according to my MIL). He would act out because he would finish the work and be bored.

Awesome news, grumpycat! Congrats! N's cried 3 of the 4 days I've dropped him off this week. I'm not sure what's going on. Assuming it's normal clingy-ness (I've heard it comes back around 15mo? He's 5 days away), because he's fine right after I leave. I know I sound like a broken record but maybe I'll just keep blaming the time change We're at mid-year review time at work, and new promotions are set to take effect April 1, so hoping I get some good news next week. Big St. Patrick's Day party this weekend - I'm off tomorrow to prep. I'm not usually this behind going into it - I've got cookies, soda bread, and cupcakes to bake between now and then. Plus the usual cleaning and other party stuff.

Most likely this school is more individual learning based so he will be more challenged than he was at his previous school.

grumpycat, glad your DS got the spot you were hoping for! Cute about DS meowing. Next he can work on his growl, haha. Morning all. Not sure if I came in here yesterday? I had DD at home because she had a fever at the end of the day Tuesday when we picked her up from daycare. It was just a low fever and with advil she was 100% herself. So yesterday was actually nice. It's not bad being home with a sick kid who isn't really sick! I took her back today even though they want her to be 24 hours without medicine, but I mean with teething I feel like she's never 24 hours without anyway. I told them if anything is even a little bit wrong I'll come pick her up, but she was totally fine yesterday eating and playing normally, so I figured it wasn't anything serious.

Hi guys. I taught a class today for work. It went better than expected- I was warned this group struggled and they did some but not as much as expected. Ds2 had a crying/ screaming episode last night and nothing would calm him down except a bottle-feeding he was too upset to try to nurse- he just kept clamping down (ouch). He finally settled after a bottle of soy milk and some Tylenol and sttn. Idk if it's his ears or what but it was rough!
