So... the UK Parliament once again rejected the Brexit deal (391 to 242). Does anyone know what's going to happen now? I've lost track.

Yikes. They've got like 2.5 weeks to figure this out.

I think the only real option they have now is to vote to extend the deadline, which EU lawyers have agreed they are able to do. I can't imagine they'll actually do a no-deal Brexit, so that's really the only thing they can do.

ETA: Oops, I didn't refresh before posting, hawkeye2015 From what I've been reading it looks they will vote again in a few days, not sure what they think will change. The EU is preparing for a no deal Brexit and Labour is calling for a general election. So everything is going really well apparently 🙄

So I just read up again. On Thursday they're voting on whether to request an extension. The EU has said they'll only consider it if the UK brings sensible suggestions to the table for how to get out of this mess. Basically the EU said if there are no sensible suggestions, there's no point in delaying things only to end up at the same point in a few months. Better to just get it over with.

It's really not in the interest of the EU to make this at all comfortable for the UK so I can't say I blame them for being firm

apropos of nothing, Billy Long spent half of the HHS budget hearing chugging out of an open Subway cup and that really just says it all

Are they still going to vote tomorrow in whether or not to take a no deal Brexit off the table?

we have a Buzz Aldrin elementary school in the DC Area. I interviewed there (too far from the city tho). Apparently Buzz Aldrin came to their science fair every year. to my knowledge, he did not punch anyone in the face at school. This is amazing. When I was a freshman in college Sally Ride visited and taught my physics class.

Brexit is such a bad idea in the first place. But they are really screwing themselves over if they don't figure something out

That makes me sad for you! I was too scared of getting on a rocket to want to be an astronaut, but NASA played a very large role in shaping where I am today. I mean, I still have a Neil deGrasse Tyson signed copy of Space Chronicles, lol. Just the thought of how friggen BIG the universe is still regularly blows my mind. And the thought that a woman might be the first person on a new planet gives me a lot of hope for girls in the future. One of my students had a "the future is female" shirt on last week. I made her jump and down and yell in excitement with me. I probably would have given her extra credit too, but fairness and all that.

I’ve heard from a former teacher that 1/3 of our city’s high school is actually students from MD. I’m not sure the exact statistics though.

And when the toddler is actually an entire country run by adults... well... Adults and also Boris Johnson

I flew from NYC to Miami this morning on a damn max 8. I'm sure it was at least mostly mental, but it was a rough take-off. Not thrilled that we're scheduled to fly one home on Friday. This shit is scary.

So are just letting this go? So the college administration scandal is the biggest in US history. This is white privileged run amuck! Wtf; WTF!!!! Aunt Becky's kid even has a video about going to college and not even going to class. She just wants to get drunk and party.
I quit. I worked for a college for more than a decade and all those privileged assholes I hope get a reality check at some point. I barely made it in. I worked my ass off. And all these people did was pay a crap ton of money and pretend to play a sport. Athletes should be pissed off to.
WTF.

So what to we think will happen with Manafort today?
I feel like Amy Berman Jackson is so done with these assholes lol.
Actual legit question - is she a potential SCOTUS nominee someday?

This is so weird. If you have unlimited money, just force your kid to take a test prep class. There are so many good colleges out there if you're 'full pay'. I keep thinking about the kids who applied to these upper elite schools, having the credentials to get in, and didn’t because of legacy students, cheating, and having parents who have the money to pay their way in. The kids wasted time and a fuckton of money in fees to have their apps tossed to the wayside because Aunt Becky thought her kids were way more special than someone who deserved it. How PISSED must those kids who applied to USC at the same time be, now knowing that at least one of her daughters is all nonchalantly talking about how she just goes to school to party, when they wanted the damn education and gave their/ their parents hard working $$ to that school for absolutely nothing.

I doubt he will get the full 10. He has gotten off easy and its so unfair. Punishment at this point doesn't fit the crime.
