Weekend

Morning!

Grey and rainy here today...we’ve had maybe three sunny days in the last 3 weeks. We have a family reunion in FL in early May and I’ve decided to take the kids down early, and DH will fly down to join us for the weekend; it should be decent here by then but I am taking no chances! 😂

B is asking to go to the indoor playground so I’m hoping DH will take the kids so I can do some housework and maybe some purging (a girl can hope, right?)

Hi hi! I’ve been reading each night but have been so busy with houseguest prep and then the actual houseguest that I didn’t get to check in! My bil just left— his Uber was super late and I have a feeling he might miss his flight.
I do finally have my house back so it’s laundry and cleaning all day.
The kids woke up early each morning, went to bed a little later than usual, and we’re ON all day, so they’re taking a breather with tv today.

Yesterday was fun. We went to the house and made a list of things we want fixed (since it’s new construction and we have a 10 year warranty, we did not do a formal inspection). Everything was minor like a cabinet door that was a bit off and some paint touch ups. Then we stopped for some boardwalk pizza. Last night I surprised DH with dinner with 2 other couples and then we met up with some more friends at a bar. We stayed out too late and drank too much and DS had 7am tryouts this morning DH had to go to but it was fun. Right now C and DH are napping. I’m in bed but I don’t think I will fall asleep.

Dh let me sleep in and made a big breakfast for the boys. So I got up and cleaned the kitchen. When the boys nap I have to go do the last tiny bit of painting at the house that I've been putting off for weeks. We have dinner at my in laws tonight. Matthew is estatic to see Aunt H- bils girlfriend.

Ha, let me know how it is. B has been asking about Monster Jam lately, he must've seen a commercial. DH promised to take him once we get back to FL, if it doesn't come here before them. I volunteered as tribute to stay home and let DH take the kids

Cadence slept until 9(new time 10). I was shocked. She was up until 10 though. So she's eating lunch and asked mh to take her to FILs so he can take her to the park by his house.

No plans for me today, just laundry as per usual.

Oh my goodness. I just logged in to my old travel website from when I was 19, thinking I’d find a pic of me with a koala so show ds, it is soooo fun to read this stuff! Blast from the past.

C loved Monster Jam. Dh said it was too loud but I had packed him ear plugs and C got some souvenir headphones so they were fine. I did not go as I don’t do loud well.

We went to the furniture store because they are renovating and having a sale. A sewer on our coffee table broke a bit ago and we haven’t replaced it. The table is a Pier One table almost ten years old so it’s not worth fixing. Well we didn’t find a table but found a loft bed for C. He has a queen now and it takes up the whole room and he uses one side. Since this is a twin and had a desk underneath his room with be much bigger. And it was on sale. Impulse buy but will be worth it. Now I’m going to look for fun bedding!

Hey! I can’t remember what I said yesterday. It snowed, we went to a friend’s house to play outside in the snow, had dinner at the ILs and then back to our friend’s house to hang out for a couple more hours. We have been putzing around the house today. It’s not as warm, but it is sunny so the snow is melting a bit. That’s good because there is ice everywhere. Looking at the 15 day forecast makes me so happy. Tomorrow is also supposed to be in the 20s but after that it’s above 32 and rising! Yay spring is coming!

Hi! It was a very slow morning here. I had Mh take down a clothing bin so I could go through what I have for M2 for spring/summer. Went through those and then out for errands. I need to go through both boys clothes/closet to purge and pack up what I have for the fall. And gym at some point.

Hi ladies! I drank too much with my friends Friday night and slept till 11:45. We got our taxes done, I was happily surprised we get a refund.

We are headed to the in laws soon, evie is staying the night with them since she's on spring break this week, so we are going to eat dinner.

Awesome C! wedding pretty sure the promise of bunk beds is the only reason the boys are excited for the new house lol.

It actually got up to 70ish today so spring fever hit hard and I’ve been looking online at shorts and whatnot. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Sadly we’ll be back in the 40s in a day or so.

I went through C’s closet and pulled her outgrown Lilly and smocked stuff. Listed it all online and made $160 🙌🏻 So post office for me tmrw.

I really need to get B to try on his clothes from late summer/early fall to see if anything will work this spring, but I think most if not all will need to be replaced.

Spent all morning at Urgent Care. Even the doctor was horrified by my bug bitten ankles. I'm on 3 antibiotics with side effects of diarrhea, yeast infection, and weight gain. With my luck I'll get all 3.

It's actually beautiful out but it's too hard to hobble around. 🤦‍♀️

Yikes! I hope it clears up fast and none of those side effects happen. I didn’t know weight gain could be caused by antibiotics.

No. She thought some of the bites look like flea bites but I can't imagine where they'd be from. I'm 99.9% sure our pets don't have fleas and to be certain we gave them flea treatment and washed all the bedding and blankets. I think I was bit at work based on when the reaction started but I haven't noticed anything there.

C kept asking too! I think kids at school were talking about it. It was.. loud, but entertaining enough since I had a beer. L loved it at first and then was begging to go home (I think she was tired and maybe not feeling 100%), so we left a bit early.

Long day here. I drove to BFE to get that high chair and booster seats at what felt like the crack of dawn (8:30am). I had considered going last night but am so glad I didn't bc it was legit on a dirt road in the country. Pretty sure I would have been a online sale horror story of not making it home.

Then went to my moms and saw the st. Patty's parade..it was a solid 90 min! And the kids got more candy than at Halloween. Quite the scene. Then tried going to dicks but j had fallen asleep and wasn't into trying on gloves and we didn't want to push it, so left empty handed. Now on the couch, 4 lunches are packed for tomorrow, so feet are officially up.

Oh we watched saving Mr. Banks last night, it was dark but good. Great cast. Now I want to see Mary Poppins again.

We were in the mall play area and a kid started spitting and hitting another girl and pulling her braids. The parents weren't there it was an older brother who didn't give a rat's ass so I had to tell him to remove the child from the situation where he kept spitting and hitting someone. Not babysitter material

Hi!!! Finally checking in! As much fun as Vegas was last weekend I am so happy to be home with my family! We had a low key weekend; errand, house stuff, out to lunch, practices baseball with the boys. Our next couple weeks are super busy with visitors and other stuff going on so it was nice to just relax.

In other exciting news, while I was in Vegas Shaun moved Charlotte out of her room and into her crib. Even though I miss my cuddle buddy... she is sleeping through the night for the first time ever! Like 7:30-8!! It’s amazing!

I remember we saw that when it came out, I enjoyed it, too. My mom gave the kids (the original) Mary Poppins at Christmas and B, in particular, really likes it.

Did you (or anyone) see the new Emily Banks version?

My SIL said it was a bit darker than expected and prob too much for j, but my sister's kids saw it without issue(they see/can handle a lot more movies than us).

Thanks for the well wishes ladies.

flamingo I saw the new one. The girls loved it. I thought it was ok. They copied the exact same format. When you'll see it you'll know what I mean, just replaced the previous adventures with ones of a similar vein. It's definitely a little sadder, but not sad like a tear jerker.

I'm excited that Saving Mr. Banks is coming out on Netflix. The real person Christopher Robin is already out.
