Oh, S asked if he could get flash cards or something new to help him learn to read. He asked for something themed (like power rangers, Star Wars, superheroes , etc. Any recommendations?

jewels most of Cadence's flash cards actually came from the dollar store. ETA: try to find some that don't have the picture and word on the same side, otherwise they just rely on the picture to tell them what the word is rather than sounding out the word itself.

In this never ending winter I managed to get bit by something all over my ankles. They are so swollen I can hardly bend them and they itch like crazy. I'm allergic to insect bites so I always swell a ton. I might need to wear flip flops today even though it's in the 30s.

Sometimes a vinegar will help with the swelling or of course an antihistamine creme. The pills usually make me feel sooo woozy/drunk.

wedding B’s 6s are starting to get snug in the waist and borderline short, so I’m moving to 7s next. I’ve seen 6/7 shirts but not pants, unless it’s athletic wear. What about just moving to 7s? Both Cat and Jack and ON pants we have are a S (6/7) so I think in those we will need to go up but if I find a straight 7 I think that would work. I know Gap and Carters carry 7, as do several of the department store brands I like. Just a thought 😊

Also, hi! Nothing like my not-so-secret passion, kid clothing, to suck me in.
B had basketball today; they don’t keep score but the other team killed us. Some of those kids will be playing in the pros someday, lol.
After that we headed out to a neighboring city (town?) for lunch, because they opened a location of a restaurant there that originated in my hometown. There’s also a Belk there, which we don’t have, so we stopped there for some stuff for the kids.

At old navy we found 1 pair of 6 slim which are an inch shorter than 6 but not falling off like the 6. I need to find somewhere else with slim pants. Maybe I'll hit up crazy 8 if it's still open or children's place but finding non athletic pants for this kid is an ordeal.
I did score the next size up in his jacket at Marshall's for $12!

Hey. It’s 35 degrees and snowing, this is bullshit. It should be raining at this temp! We are having a lazy day at home. After nap I think we will all go outside to play in the snow. MIL invited us over for supper tonight.

It's called Metro Diner, I'm not sure how far they've spread yet but they do all-day breakfast and really good comfort food.

Sunny41 Have you tried Gap's Slim styles? B wore a 6slim in their jeans this winter and I loved that not only were they a slimmer cut, but also much smaller in the waist. I bought a pair of regular 6s to compare and they were practically falling off, even with the waist tightened all the way.

I'll keep that in mind for next year.

We cut 3 inches off at Cadence's haircut. I'm not sure you can even tell.

Spent a fortune at Lowes getting odds and ends for the house. But it's getting exciting. Almost surreal after all this time!

DH organized a girls' night dinner for me - a couple local friends and my best friend from Mass, who is crashing here and I'm now sharing a bottle of wine with.

Morning! Cheese and wine (on my end) was fun, my friend told me she’s pregnant! Besides her H I’m the only one who knows, she’s only seven weeks along. So fun! Lazy Sunday today, we made sheep cupcakes with the kids, had coffee with my parents & a birthday party this afternoon. My h offered to tell a white lie that I’m not feeling well and to take the kids on his own. It sounds very tempting...

We went to bed far too late but thanks to DST, no one stirred early. DH is downstairs making breakfast with Colin, my friend just started stirring, and I should get Chase before he potentially starts stripping.
The annual Pi Day race that goes by our house is today, so we'll probably bundle up for that. The kids always get a kick out of all the extra "traffic" on our road.

With little effort I convinced mh to take E to sky zone since I didn't make it there yesterday. Ideally I would clean the kitchen during this time but in reality I will probably catch up on my daylight savings sleep

I’m drinking coffee all alone. It’s amazing. I have some laundry to finish up and then I need to organize our junk drawer again. I swear I have to do I every year.

Morning. We went to dinner last night and dh told the kids they could watch a movie when we got home, so they were up late. H actually asked to go to bed with 10 minutes left in the movie and told me no book as he crawled into bed. He’s just stirring now, and n is still asleep. It’s a DST miracle.
We lucked out and only got about 5 inches of snow instead of 10, so I’m happy about that. It’s supposed to warm up and rain this week so maaaaybe spring is actually coming?
