shibes sorry about the GD and associated cost, yikes! But I must say getting that much hair off your dog in one brushing seems incredibly satisfying! bubbles, Yay team pink! We are behind, so it'll be interesting to see the split once we've all had them. librarylady glad the water seemed to help! I drank a lot of liquids yesterday, but not much plain water. It thankfully wasn't too hot out, but I will try to make up for it today. I have been easily drinking over a litre a day, but weekends I'm not quite as good.

Last night turned out pretty good. A laid back bbq at a friend's place (most of the women were pregnant!), then we smushed into the back of a car with our friend's kids and went downtown. They have an electric car so we got a sweet parking spot. Got a beavertail donut thing, watched the Arkells play, then the fireworks. Got back to the car quickly, but man, pedestrians seem to have no concern for their lives!

thanks grumpycat and @doxiemomma for the advice re: cramping. I did call on Friday and the on call midwife said I would need to come into labor and delivery so that they could monitor me. I started crying when she said that and even though I was trying to hide it, she could hear it in my voice. I was about to call my mom to have her come watch DD when the midwife called back and said she could tell how upset I was and that I could also try drinking 80 oz of water in thirty mins, take a hot bath, and if I am still cramping and contracting in two hours, then come in. I was so glad she gave me something to try before going in! Thankfully, that worked, so I think maybe dehydration was causing the cramps. I had been aiming to get 64 oz of water today, but apparently they want you to get more like 80-100 for pregnancy. I did 80 oz yesterday and no cramps, so yay! During my first pregnancy I told the doctor I already drink about 50-70oz of water a day because it's really mostly what I drink all day anyways. I was told that wasn't enough and told 80oz minimum but to shoot for 100oz. That's so much water! And I LIKE water.

Went to Ikea yesterday and now we have all the furniture for DD2's room assembled! bookshelves, crib, nightstand, glider and dresser! We leave tomorrow for a week so I will have lots of organizing to do when we get back. Excited! Everything we bought is white and her walls are gray, so now I need to find fun curtains and a rug and lamp to add some color.

Whoa! 80-100oz? That's crazy! I am notoriously bad at drinking fluids in general. If I get 24-36oz of non caffeinated liquids in I'm happy.....

Yeah, there... there is no way I've been getting 80-100oz of fluids every day. Yikes. Time to get a bunch of iced tea blends from David's Tea, because I need to be better about this and not just drink milk.

I have a 16 oz reusable bottle from Target that closes and has a straw (I'm particular about what I drink out of) and so I just have been making sure I get five of those a day. I'm weird and I will suck water down if I have a straw but I struggle to drink any if I have to drink it out of a cup.

I couldn't ever get 100oz of water in me, I think I would be sick from the amount of water sloshing about in me.
I struggle with drinking during the day, bad habit with me, but after the toddlers in bed I drink a good pint and more of water which is good for me. Deffo not enough but I drink more water when pregnant for definite

Talking of water, it reminds me about a funny remark I had last night at SIL's engagement party.
I had already had my daily can of coke, so I just wanted a nice cold glass of water. H went up and got himself a pint of beer and me a water, I think this lady must of thought it was vodka or something, some sort of clear alcohol.
Half the water later, I need a wee, so I get up and I have to stop multiple times while walking towards the bathrooms as people are just hopping out of their chairs and it's quite a crowded room, so I'm paranoid about being bumped in the bump (lol)
This lady (SIL's future husbands aunt, I later found) kind of looked at me funny as I walked past her, but whatever. Walking back from the toilet, she's looking at me funny again as I'm walking towards her to walk past their table and she goes "you know alcohol isn't good for the baby"
Cue bitch face as I look at her and go, "it's water" quite sarcastically.
She just does this scowl or whatever and looks away, while holding half a pint of beer.
Like who do you think you are? Anybody who knows me well, knows how much I don't do things when pregnant, since it's unhealthy for the baby. I don't drink anything alcoholic, I quit smoking and stay away from 2nd hand smoke, I eat healthier, all of that. Kind of pissed me off this stranger assuming I was harming my baby. I'm extra ragey while pregnant so she was lucky I only said that.
The whole rest of the half an hour we were there she avoided eye contact with me and when H told SIL about it she shook her head and said the woman's a bitch anyway.

beefinch, It's so strange to me that the woman automatically assumed it was alcohol after realizing that you're pregnant. I feel like my first guess would be water. Also, what made her think it was appropriate to say something to you? She sounds bitchy, for sure.

Also, what made her think it was appropriate to say something to you? She sounds bitchy, for sure. That's what I thought. Maybe she had been around a lot of pregnant women that drank, no idea. Even though I completely don't agree with drinking while pregnant if I ever saw an obvious pregnant woman drinking I wouldn't call them out on it, personal choices and all

librarylady, I'm glad you are feeling better! I'm currently chugging as much water as possible but am totally getting some lemonade later ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) I knew we were supposed to get more than 64oz but I didn't realize it was that high! #themoreyouknow beefinch, "Vodka helps me relax. Sounds like you could use a glass too." *continue walking* But seriously, WTAF. I've never assumed that a pregnant woman was drinking. I always assume that she's not. DH's grandmother pointed out how big I am already. Thaaaaaanks. And then DS told me that he needed a beer while in her earshot. Sigh. At least she later said "well, you must be doing something right! He's a great kid. So happy and talkative." So I'm gonna call that a win and assume that she does not think we give our 2.5 year old beer. We simply tell him the REAL words for things. My cousin calls wine "Mommy's party juice" and I have some feelings about that.

I have a 32 oz water bottle that i basically have with me at all times. I try to refill it 2-3 times a day.

I hate drinking water. I'm awful at staying hydrated. I'll drink tea, but finding tea I like that isn't caffeinated is hard. I love coffee and think I'll make myself some decaf cold brew. beefinch, WTF to that lady questioning you/calling you out. Step off. That's ridiculous!

I have to add fruit or other stuff to my water. I need to find mint to plant; I hear it grows like a weed, and I'm a pro at growing weeds.
Since DS3 is still nursing I aim for 120oz. Water in stuff counts too and right now I'm dying for watermelon - DS1 is allergic so we don't ever buy it anymore. I seriously get sick drinking so much water, plus our water tastes like dirt, so cold, flavored and straw are practically non-negotiatiable.

bubbles CONGRATS! beefinch what a bitch. I would've said something so cunty back to her. You have a lot of restraint lol. When I was pregnant with ds3 we went into a coffee shop and I ordered a latte. The worker said "You know there's espresso in that?" I said "I didn't ask you what's in it, maybe you misheard me." And then stood there sucking on the straw rubbing my belly
