Morning. I'm home with N who doesn't seem to have a fever,but is acting like it and not eating much. I of course got completely ready for work before she woke up.

It is down to the wire with this final paper that is due tonight. One team member fights every suggestion I give, the other cannot write a non-passive sentence to save her life, and no one is providing feedback on my section 🙄. 15 hours left..

It’s a -10 windchill this morning. I’m tired because the dog kept nudging me to go out in the middle of the night. I kept ignoring her hoping she’d go bug MH instead. And she finally did! We have all three dogs in the house because of the cold. Hopefully nothing is tore up when we get home tonight.

Morning! This whole cold thing is so irritating, my head hurts so bad every time I cough. I just want to sleep all day. If this thing isn’t over by Friday I’m going to let my go test for pneumonia. Luckily the kids are healthy and in good spirits. Silver linings right?! Drinks tonight, that have already been postponed 3 times, so paracetamol, wine and cheese it’s going to be.

Cold and rainy here again--surprise! C is going to school but I'm keeping B home, poor kid.

I forgot that golf starts this week until I got a reminder email this morning...oops. In my head it was going to be warm and spring-like...that was dumb of me.

nam2013 you’ve had this cold a while, I would probably go in sooner than Friday if you can. If it’s a sinus infection you can get meds and feel better quicker. Just a thought.

Cs school delayed opening to 9 and my work is delayed until 12 so C is at school and I have 2 hrs to myself!

I have a psych appointment this afternoon and I want to talk about changing my meds. I self weaned off the anxiety med that caused the weight gain but I do need something so I don’t jump out of my skin. I’m still up 5# but no more so that’s good. I’m trying to keep my diet on track and I’m caught up with BBM so hopefully it will fall off.

March is such a cruel month. I remember how cold it'd be during spring sports at the beginning. I am realizing I have no idea when t-ball starts..

No school today for snow. The roads are surprisingly clear. Kids and dog have already played outside once. DH is at Urgent Care and has strep. We were home all day yesterday so I will probably take the baby and whoever else wants to come and go to the mall or something later. I still need a gift for DH’s Birthday.

You’re probably right, but between taking the kids to school/daycare and having a course on Thursday, Friday is the earliest I can manage 😕.

No school for anyone today! We took the kids out onto the deck to play. Charlie stood like a statue and then cry/whined that he didn’t want to go in the snow. Josie was the same way at that age. She is now a snow bunny— so I took her sledding in the front yard, and I really like that she’s getting braver with new things.

I was coming to complain about it being 19 but I think lfig and mwhip have it worse!

J was awful this morning. Hes been pulling on his ears but says they dont hurt. Trying to decide if I should take him in anyway just to check. I'm almost hoping they're infected because it would explain his grouchy butt.

Idk how or what but I did something to my right arm. Whole thing is sore like I fell on it or something. But I didnt 🤷‍♀️ I was hoping it would be gone when I woke up, but no such luck.

Cleaning and laundry today. A little bit of work.

Pete’s birthday is next Saturday and I still haven’t planned anything other than a date Sunday night (that’s when my mom and sister are available to sit around and watch the baby monitors).

This was my kids on Saturday.  B wouldn't let me put him down for the first 10 minutes.  S was cleaning off my car the whole time.  Then B finally let me put him down to shovel, but would only walk on the shoveled path.  After about 30 minutes, he finally, quite gingerly, started walking in the snow.  Meanwhile, S cleared off all of my car (the parts he could reach), helped me shovel, and built a snowman. Hopefully by next year, B is a bit more into it.

We had about 6 inches last night, but roads were clear this morning.  I didn't want to have to put the kids in their snow gear, so Dora parented while I shoveled us out.

Some errands and Cass' conference this morning. Then I'm picking up Madison from school for "an appointment" at Dave and Buster's.

I feel bad even complaining about the cold because I know we have a few northern ladies that have had it much worse!

I am about to bring the smack-down to the office! There is usually just 4 guys and me in here. But they just hired 3 seasonals plus we have a crew of 5 others in temporarily for a month from another park to help with some prescribed burns. There is 2 bathrooms. They are individual lockable bathrooms. One mens, one ladies. They told me from the start that when there was a lot of people here that they use the ladies too. But I have gone in there 2x this morning already to pee in the toilet, not flushed! Plus there is dirt all over the floor! I liked it better when I was the only one using it. Now I feel like I need to Clorox everything everytime I go in there. Men are gross.

I just finished my first day of swim training. Got lots of hands on with kids! The lady in charge created a nonprofit that pays for lessons for families who can’t afford them. Some of that goes to headstart programs etc so they bus in daycare kids for lessons.... so they always have lots of kids in and out. Along with parents/nanny’s bringing in kids. So it is a really great learning environment for me!

I will not tell you guys what the weather is here 😬

sands42, that is so great! Can I ship Cadence to you so you can teach her? I emailed her swim school today and said we were going to stop at the end of March. She seems to have hit this plateau that she just can't get through, so I'm letting her take a break. She will still get swim time during the summer with our neighborhood pool opening, hotel pools when we go on our mini vacays, etc.

lfig Time for the Flamingo "Were you raised by wolves?" speech That is awful. Bad enough to keep your own bathroom that way, but you are a 'guest' in the ladies room, act that way. Argh.

I really want B to feel better. A, because he's miserable. B, because he is like a grown man when he gets sick. A bit dramatic, loses all self-sufficiency, whiny, etc. He just asked for food, I gave him a rundown of options that might be ok to try eating, made his pick, and now he doesn't want it.

I feel terrible saying this. Clearly I was not cut out to be a nurse.

Ha! My friend who has kids our kids ages.. the older son had a stomach bug and insisted on being carried around the house and was a horrible patient. Meanwhile his 2 year old sister was acting normal despite throwing up periodically.

Swim school called. Basically, they were trying to get me to stay and questioned perhaps changing her coach again. Uh....no. I feel like that has been the problem in the first place. Once her original coach left she just went backwards in skills and then just stopped. She doesn't seem to like her current coach. She has warmed up to him, but doesn't like the way he teaches. IDK. I told them they could call me after a couple months off to see how she's doing and if she is interested in starting back up again.
