Trump reassigned the US Atty for DC so he gets to assign a new Federal prosecutor in one of the districts prosecuting Manafort, Stone and Butina. NEAT. Wait, what? 🤯🤬

This contradicts Sec Nielsen’s testimony under oath today. Of course she gave herself a huge out with “to my knowledge” or something stupid like that.

There is no grift this guy will not take.
Eta: I see this is an old story. I haven’t seen this one before. Not sure why it’s resurfacing now.

I think my favorite nugget out of the McCabe book is that Reince Preibus had no idea what or where the Hoover Building is

Uh huh. Ok General.
Trump's former COS John Kelly at Duke: “I think the whole national emergency thing right now is going to be wrapped up in the courts, if it even really gets through Congress, which right now it doesn’t look like it will ..."
“Thank god we have the courts,” he added. Per @djjudd.

In Goodbye Good Riddance news, A Dean of Rider University in NJ quit yesterday over the fact that the school board denied Chick-Fil-A to be an on campus food business because of their stance against LGBTQA people. 1. Your freaking stupid if your quitting your tenure for something so trivial. Can't wait to hear that story at parties. 2. College is for EVERYONE, not just for Christians, and I am offended that you are putting the beliefs of Christians before the beliefs of everyone else. That is the kind of Bias that you should be removed from that kind of position. So goodbye, And good riddance. A dean is stepping down over her university's decision to drop Chick-fil-A

Also I heard this on NPR this morning about Military Housing. Rep Tilis and a general with the army went on a tour with a number of others inspecting the homes of members of the armed services. The homes are supposed to be kept up by private companies after the 1990s decision by Congress to take the care of the homes away from the Military itself to save money. Since them the homes for our military members have suffered. They visited NUMEROUS places with shotty work, safety problems, and health problems including leaking roofs, mold, no heat, etc. They were appalled by what they saw the General turned around and gave it to the Private Contractor Rep who tried to brush it off as poor work ethic. At this point he is testifying today in front of congress about everything he saw. After hearing this, I am interested and I will be listening in if it is aired on C-SPAN. --> EDIT: Here 9:30AM - Senate Armed Services Committee Hearing on Military HousingI am going to go a little by partisan today and say good for you Rep. Tilis. This is something you should be championing and are in a position to fix it for all Americans. Military Housing Issues Are Bigger Than Realized, Army Secretary Says

Shit that's terrifying. How many untrained teachers said "yes" solely for the money aspect? I'm sorry you have to worry about this.

Yeah, that's really disturbing. I had some teachers growing up that were dealing with some mental health challenges (and had to even take leaves of absence over it), and I think incentivizing carrying a gun in what can be a v. high-stress work environment is such a terrible idea.

Shit that's terrifying. How many untrained teachers said "yes" solely for the money aspect? I'm sorry you have to worry about this. Part of the problem is North Carolina is 37th in the nation in teacher pay. Who truly knows who would say yes solely for the money, and who would say yes because they think they're John Wayne with a quick trigger finger. On top of this, just a few weeks ago, a sub in a 3rd grade classroom suggested that a kid was wearing "prison attire" and spouted the Bible, and told kids that MLK Jrs death was fabricated. I can't even remotely imagine what this woman would have been capable of if she was allowed to not only go to school with a fucking gun, but also was given a RAISE to carry it around. abc11.com/education/substitute-teacher-resigns-after-allegedly-calling-students-athletic-wear-prison-attire/5134627/

Can't wait until a someone shoots a colleague or principal over a dispute in front of kids. Its terrifying the possibilities. Or shoots a student for mouthing off. Or shoots a student because they "think" the student is going to do something. Or a student grabs it and shoots someone else. THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY FUCKING WEAPONS IN THE CLASSROOM AND I CANNOT BELIEVE IN 2019 I FEEL LIKE I HAVE TO SAY THAT OUT LOUD.* *I know, I'm preaching to the choir here and no one thinks guns being handled by teachers are appropriate in a school setting. I'm just so effing angry that I'm going to birth and raise a child in a place where 25% of teachers this this is an acceptable answer.

I also worry that teachers who are predators are more likely to sign up for things like this because it provides them another intimidation tactic. Super.

Rep Katie Porter had a good statement in the House morning meeting about HR1 and the inclusion on being able to use campaign funds for childcare. She is the ONLY single mother in the house and brings a much needed perspective.

The republican rebuttal to rep Pressley’s amendment to HR1 to lower the voting age are bad. Like I think you can legitimately debate this one. I support it but I understand some of the arguments against it. But their arguments are so bad.
