Everyone: “Kate just wears the same thing over and over.” Meanwhile Camila: Charles is either overheating in that suit or his royal highness needs to be better about the sunscreen. Ooof.

My DH is watching Amy Schumer special on Netflix and she was talking about cupping the stomach. I said Meghan Markle does that in every picture and DH says “she’s pregnant?” Who am I married to? I just gave a look and said she’s due within weeks. 🤦🏻♀️

This part of her I do love I also believe she is more like Meghan and Kate than people realized and knew what she was getting into with the relationship part at least. I think she just thought he would hide his affairs better I think me and you are the only ones on this bench. Welcome, it’s been lonely may I join you on this bench?

Regarding the second wife of the king and her title...I’m no expert on the titles but didn’t plenty of monarchs had their first wife die young and then remarried. I believe the second wife still became queen. Don’t know what happened, title wise, when the king passed away.

I think the issue here is that now, the RBF has to care a lot more about appearances and the good will of the country. Henry the VIII did whatever the fuck he wanted, but times are different and the royal family's role is different. Diana was loved and Charles and Camilla vilified for what went down. Had Diana lived, I think it would have calmed down, but she has been practically canonized since her death. That said, I get the conflicting feelings over Camilla, but ultimately, it seems that William and Harry have accepted her and William and Kate's children appear to like her. (Wills and Harry could be acting, but little kids are so honest all the time.) The family has made peace with it and are moving forward.

I have very strong feelings about cheaters, so I'm just never going to like Camilla or feel particularly happy for her. I'm not saying I'm right or that is rational, but 🤷 More importantly, where are the damn tiaras? Was Camilla still married when she was with charles?

Yes, however, her first husband also had a number of affairs. It is likely that their marriage, like Charles and Diana's, was not really a love match.

Okay but can we talk about Charlene’s hair going into Mathilde territory?

Okay but can we talk about Charlene’s hair going into Mathilde territory? I am hoping she is just growing it out from short hair and it is the weird in between stage. I really hope she doesn’t keep it like that.

Charles and Camilla become the first British royals to visit Cuba as they land in Havana for an historic visit to the Communist country

So another question about Charles and Camila (lol 🙈) how long did they wait to marry after Diana died? Was it just accepted at that point by the rest of the family, like well guess we might as well let them marry now?? I remember Diana dying vaguely but I was definitely not interested in all of this when it was happening lol

I feel like that's a respectable amount of time.

I do feel for Camilla in that she has has no choice but to deal with QEII if she wants to be with Charles. This isn't your normal in law situation.
Imagine if your MIL made it clear to everyone you know that you weren't acceptable for her son because you weren't a virgin. Then the decades of lies, affairs, misery to follow. I can't imagine it would be easy to sit around the dinner table. Camilla has to wear a pin with her face on it (which I still think are kind of hideous).

Maybe a better point will be if she’s crowned queen- either alongside Charles or on her own at a later date- or not crowned.

Didn’t she make Camilla part of her Privy council, which would allow her to be present when Charles is proclaimed King?

may I join you on this bench? Make room for me. I live on this bench. Diana wasn’t perfect but she was better at playing the press (in part because Charles followed royal protocol of not airing their dirty laundry) So Charles and Camilla were unfairly victimized. I don’t think anyone in the situation was innocent- Charles, Camilla, Diana, or the Royal Family as an institution. It’s one major reason I can’t believe any of the conspiracy theories of the BRF killing Diana. By dying young, she was seen as a saint.

A while back someone posted an article about about Diana that gave an interesting view of her relationship with the press, and how she would just call up certain reporters to chat. If I recall correctly it talked about how the relationship was deteriorating closer to when she died, and theorized that had she lived longer she wouldn't be as fondly remembered. If I'm recalling the article correctly that is.

If I'm recalling the article correctly that is. I don't remember that article exactly, but that theory has definitely been floated since around the time she died. There was definitely discussions of her having the press at her disposal before she died. I remember quite a few articles in the aftermath about how she wanted the press to be aware of her when she wanted the publicity, but was irritated when they were on hand when she didn't. Much discussion of not being able to be a part-time celebrity followed. I can see both sides of that issue.
