Anyone else having serious issues sleeping? I wake up around 3:15am every morning, and can not fall back asleep to save my life till around 6, when I need to start getting up. Then I am nodding off all day at work. I take natural calm (magnesium) that used to help me sleep, but that is not helping any all anymore. I can not live the next 9 or so weeks like this. And I have been working out latley, so that should be helping me sleep as well. lol I don't think you will start sleeping again in 9 weeks 😉 Haha, so so true! Just a totally different kind of sleep deprivation:)

quinstar, all the schools decided last night to close, including the colleges I work at (which pretty much never close!) H’s work also decided to close early. The snow isn’t too bad yet, but since it was raining earlier this morning the roads are pretty icy. The forecast was saying about 8” snow where I am (south metro area). We will see! We have enough water and food in case the power goes out. We closed up the chickens since the wind was already blowing lots of snow into their coop. The pressure change is giving me a headache and making me a little nauseous, but otherwise it’s not too bad yet.

bonzo, wow, I just can't believe this forecast. We've had a lot of 6"-12" storms forecast in the last month, they've all been dusters. But they seem pretty serious about this one. Right now it's just breezy and partly cloudy. Kind of making me anxious waiting for it to show up. We usually have a bad, bad storm the end of March where cows die, calves drop, power lines come down, windows break, buildings fall, and they're acting like this is going to be that bad.

quinstar, I’m in the springs but it’s definitely snowing and blowing like crazy here right now. Everything is closed down here too. My power flickered once- I hadn’t actually even considered it going out before that so now I’m really hoping that doesn’t happen.

The power has stayed on so far, but a portion of our fence blew down so now we need to take our dog out on a leash when she needs to go. Also roads throughout the state are closing down (including 25 near us) and H insisted on going into the office today. I’m going to be really irritated if he can’t make it home.

Our power has flickered a little, bit so far so good. Total white out conditions now, I can’t see anything of the open space behind our yard.

Well our power is out! DH got the generator going last night because he uses a sleep apnea machine and the power was flickering constantly. We shut it off and the generator worked perfect all night, our neighbors are all out though. MIL up the road said it went out last night just about the time we got our generator going.
Hope everyone else is doing good! We got none to little snow, just wind, wind and more wind. Still blowing like crazy this morning.

It ended up not being too bad at our house, though our school district is closed again because so many schools were without power. I also have another snow day from work because of power issues. We never lost power st our house, though I know a number of people who live downtown who did lose power for most of the night.

H got stuck at work last night. He tried to leave but got the car stuck in the parking lot. Thankfully a front loader came to plow the lot and pulled him out but he decided to stay and wait until today when the roads would be clearer. I was just out shoveling our driveway so he can get in it, but the road in front of our house is super drifted so I’m not sure if he will make it through. He shouldn’t have a problem making it to that point though and at least then he’d be home.

Nesting in full force here. I'm organizing and throwing stuff away, but I have to do most of it while DH isn't here. He keeps EVERYTHING. OMG it's so bad. I mentioned I tossed something, something I didn't think he even knew we had and he got all upset because he "was going to use it". I just can't. We have a tiny house, and will have two kids. Things have to go.

We were talking last night with some friends about purging and organizing, and I mentioned that I think we still have two copies of a college textbook in our house (we each took the class) and he was like “well, I might need one at work and one at home!” For the record, I’ve tried to get rid of my copy in the past, and gotten the same answer. 🙄

The copy they sent ups was bound upside down, still perfectly readable and usable, but he made me call and request a new one, so now we have two. He won't let me give one to my brother, who needs one, because the upside down one 'will be worth something' and he doesn't want to use it, so we can't give it or our normal one away. This is my personal hell. But it means something to him, so...

Our birth class was supposed to start tonight, but I just found out the teacher is sick so they’re pushing it back a week. It’s a four week class, and I had picked this session so I’d be done before we go into tech rehearsals for my play at school. Now I’ll have to miss a night of tech. It will be fine, but it’s frustrating.

The last part of my birth class was a hospital tour that was optional. Maybe week 4 would be the same for you?

If it’s just the hospital tour, we can schedule that for free separately. It is a natural childbirth class, so I’m not sure if that’s different from the “standard” one they offer.

Things have to go. Throwing things away is my favorite. And you never never tell your H what you threw away- the whole point is that they haven’t used it in forever so don’t remind them and 9.9/10 they won’t think about it again, LoL. My H had these “redneck wine glasses” (that’s what they said on the package) that his mom had gotten him as a joke gift forever ago. They were Mason jars glued on top of wine glass stems- 4 of them. He’s never used them but when I asked about them once when we first got together he was like “Oh I forgot I had those but no you can’t throw them away”. I bided my time and maybe 2 years later they went to goodwill with a purge. He’s never asked about them. Sorrynotsorry.

I finally committed to being done with the house projects before this baby comes. Mostly because getting up and down painting, etc gets me really out of breath, LoL.
I finally had the time to get rid of all of E’s clothes I had saved in case baby #2 was a girl.
We also are in good shape with baby stuff- I got the car seats last week. The only thing I have left is a couple random items like new bottle nipples for my dr Browns glass bottles.

elephantastic That reminds me that I need to buy one or two new bottles! I'm considering selling our house rather than rebuilding now and just buying something finished. It won't be exactly in the area I want and I really wanted to rebuild because I wanted us to have a house designed by SO...but I'm not sure I can live with my mom for another 2 years. Grrr.

Having a date set for the c section is nice because DH is much more on board helping me prepare for the baby this time around than he was the first time. I think it's because we have a specific date to have stuff done by instead of an estimated due date lol. Today we got some deep cleaning done like cleaning ceiling fans and moved our oven to clean it and the floor underneath it. We've also made plans on how to spend our remaining five weekends because we have a lot going on this next month.
Also I did some calculating and depending on how my doctors appointments work out I may only have three appointments left before my c section. It's starting to feel so real!

I saw some mention of sibling gifts in the hospital bag thread. I think that is a great idea, but I dont know what to do. We have an over abundance of toys, and DS's bday is right before baby is due, so even more new toys. I would like to do something small, and more sentamental, but I am drawing a blank. My kids are really big on remembering who get them things, like they always remember what grand parent bought them things, so I think it would be neat to have something from baby to them when baby arrived that they can remember.
What gifts are you all doing? Or any ideas for more sentamntal gifts?

I let DD pick out gifts for baby. She picked out 2 stuffed animals...and will likely keep one so one will be for her and one for baby.

I’m thinking about finding a boy cabbage patch doll for him to take care of while I’m taking care of baby brother. I don’t really have any other ideas that an almost 4 year old would really like and has any sort of meaning.

I just hate to add another stuffed animal type thing to our massive collection, but I still may consider something like that.

DD and I made a build a Bear for DD2. I’m probably going to buy DD an American Girl Bitty Baby from MH and I to give her a baby doll to change while I change DD2, etc.
