Phew it's been a whirlwind of a few days but I finally got more than 30 minutes of sleep and figured I'd go ahead and post this finally.
I went in to my 10:30 appointment on Tuesday feeling fine and assuming it would be brief. The nurse took my blood pressure and said it was high but that we'd just check it again before I left. After the scan I went in the little waiting room to wait to talk to Dr and a different nurse came in to take my BP. She was weird about it and said she would get the first nurse to come do it again. First nurse comes in, takes it again, says it's high (but still not what) and that she'd let Dr take it again. He finally came in to go over the scan and then took my BP again and said that it was really high and I needed to go to L&D to be monitored and see if they could get it to come down. He was very chill about the whole thing and I know nothing about blood pressures so I just dropped E off with my SIL and went up to the hospital. They checked me in at 11:45 and made me sit down to "rest" right away, and put a BP cuff on to go off periodically. The nurse just told me to hang out, they'd take a few blood and urine samples and be in contact with my OB. At 12:30 she came back and told me to call MH because we were having this baby today! My BP just kept rising I guess, it was up to 180/110 I think the last I heard. At that point about 10 people came in the room to get me an IV and catheter and all hooked up and that was pretty much constant until MH showed up 30 minutes later and we were wheeled into the OR right at about 2pm. He came out screaming at 2:30, a tiny thing at 5lbs 11oz and 18.25" long. He was doing great so MH got to cut the cord and hold him after they cleaned him off. The rest of the surgery took longer than last time but the lady monitoring me was so great and talked to me the whole time about what they were doing and making sure I was comfortable which was really nice. In recovery he latched on right away and nursed for about 20 minutes, and has been doing really well at nursing. They were checking his blood sugar levels through today but he passed every time so he's done with that.
My mom picked E up when she got off work and they and my dad came up to visit after they had dinner, E was sooo excited to meet Henry and is so proud to be a big sister. She also ran into the table with SIL and has a huge gash in her head 🤦 lol.
I had to get magnesium through an IV for 24 hours but am finally off that, unattached from all wires and got to eat 3 meals and finally drink actual water (opposed to just ice chips) so I feel like a new woman! I'm definitely more sore/weak than I remember being at first with E, but overall feel pretty good. I can hopefully get a shower tomorrow morning and keep moving around to help.
Everyone couldn't believe that I felt fine/normal throughout it all, my liver and kidney numbers were all whack and BP crazy high so she said it was due to pre eclampsia, and a good thing I had an appointment yesterday since I didn't feel bad and likely they caught it towards the beginning. I'm just glad he's here and we're both doing well!
