jules1614, I don't remember but are you in the midwest? All of my H's friends on Facebook (from Wisconsin) have been posting about the wind, cold, and snow. We typically get the same weather a day or two later. But I hear you about snow storms at night. We are to get some snow tonight and hopefully it starts after I get home. Yup I'm in WI. We started out February with 10" of snow below average and we are now 10" ABOVE average. I was so hoping for a mild winter haha My brother told me that around where I grew up is upward of 50” this month. Crazy!

The hearings kept my attention during lunch today, and work is busy. Hi!!
I just looked in DD’s baby books and her first molars came in at 14, 14.5, and 15 (both top) months. DS is just shy of 15 months so I guess it’s eminent! He’s been chewing so much!
I preordered tempdrop months ago and it finally came. I’m looking forward to not needing to remember to take my temp in the am, or wait for the beep as DS starts crying like this morning. Hopefully it works great for the price tag! Ha

I was thinking that my delay at school would mean I could sleep a bit later, but as H was leaving for work at 5, i realized that I still need to shower before E gets up. Bummer. It’s just after 6 and she’s starting to stir, so I should probably do that soon

C was definitely a little pathetic this morning, I think still from his shots but he might be getting a cold too. It made it sad to leave, and this is also the longest we’ll have ever been away from him- but DH and I NEED this getaway so I won’t dwell on that lol

DS's school called last night basically to chat about what our meeting next week is going to be. They're finding him very challenging and angry all of a sudden. After having a lengthy discussion with him last night, it honestly sounds to me like the poor kid is being picked on and bullied. I mentioned it to his teachers today when I dropped him off at school after his doctor's appointment so they're going to keep an eye on this kid and see if there's some truth in what DS says. My poor momma heart.

snuff9861 I'm sorry ❤️ it's insane to me that that garbage starts so young. I hope his teachers are able to get a handle on it quickly. Kids are assholes.

Ds1 told me that he doesn't like ds2 today because he's bad to him. LMAO. Another baddler in the house thatgolfb. Ds2 definitely has some tendencies that are not great (throwing and hitting) but it helps that ds1 is old enough that he understands those are not acceptable. And that he's seems to be understanding that we need to help ds2 learn that it's not ok to hit or throw. Ah the curse of being an older sibling. 🤣

Aww snuff9861, I'm glad your DS was able to tell you about it. Hopefully things can get better for him now! Glad you got to sleep in a little bit at least bethkate? I'm feeling better today, hurrah. Going to go to the mall on my lunch break and try and find DD another pair of shoes. She has a pair of Champion runners from Payless, but they're kind of already falling apart. Also, Payless is closing down here, so won't be able to rely on them anymore. It's hard to find size 4 shoes though!

So many hugs, snuff9861 . Hope things get better for him now!!! Hi all, I'm not dead I swear. The training last week went much better Thu/Fri, but Monday was heavy catch-up day at work. Then out of nowhere Monday night at 11:30 N woke up with a fever of 101.1. Was up with him almost all night. Had to keep him home Tuesday; he'd been rubbing his ears so I called the pedi figuring it was another infection. Nope, doc says his ears are clear and he's working ALL FOUR of his pre-molars at once. Plus another tooth on the bottom front (so he's gone from seven teeth to twelve in like a week. OOF, poor kid!). His fever spiked that afternoon (103.4), and again the next morning (102, after being up with him since 3am again). Fever was 104 that afternoon (it came down fast though, thank God), and when H got home we took him back to the pedi. Turns out this doc (different one, lots of docs at the practice and we haven't picked a primary yet) heard a small pneumonia in his left lung. O.O She also ran a flu test, but it was negative. N gets put on antibiotics and we go home - but since the appt was late and we had to wait for the flu test we got home like at his bedtime, so he was both hungry and overtired. He didn't eat much at dinner, or at his bedtime bottle, and took forever to settle. He also started breathing funny, so we called the after hours line. After talking to the on-call doc, the gist was he wasn't in immediate respiratory distress but if anything changed (she gave us a list to look out for) we were to bring him to the ER. I freaked out. Thankfully he settled and evened out, so we opted to let him sleep, but I slept on the floor in his room just in case. He woke up with no fever, breathing fine, and temp has been fine since, knock on wood. The on-call doc said if we didn't take him to the ER to call their office first thing, so I did and to be safe they moved his follow up from Saturday to tomorrow. Thank Christ H can take him, and he should be fine to go to DC after because I NEED to go to work. (And I'm getting pissed at H because "he couldn't" take off and has gotten home later than he thought so I can get a break and also try and keep afloat on work stuff.) So I'd like to not repeat this week ever, k? Thx. Going to catch up on the rest of the thread now

I feel awful. This is the worst cold. I got a very short cold last week. But the headache lingered and now everything is back in full force. Worst part is DD seems to have caught it. N has it too. Fingers crossed my oldest doesn’t. He is down for a week at least if he does. 😔

Sorry you're sick cdnfarmgirl. I can definitely commiserate with you on that cakewench. It's so stressful with a sick child and then add in work. I'm just remaining hopeful that we are heading into spring here and any illness will be milder.

E has learned how to twirl and it is seriously the cutest thing to watch. He twirls and giggles and then gets dizzy so he falls. Also, he suddenly knows how to give me a kiss. My heart melts.

N got the all-clear for DC today at the pedi! She said she could still hear the fluid in his lung, but it's very faint and to be expected after only roughly 36 hours. His next follow-up coincides with his 15mo well-baby visit, so they'll just check it out then. YAY!
And I'm around actual grown ups I am not married to! YAY!
Ever not get a lot of sleep, and then get a lot of sleep and feel even more tired than you did before? That's where I'm at today. But I'm so relieved N is better and we can get on with regular daily life I don't care lol.

So we are at the end of our first week of extended days and I swear to god guys, I don't know if I'm going to make it another 4 weeks. My 8-year-olds have no breaks for 3 hours in the afternoon and by 2:00 they are so done. Behaviors are beyond terrible. I have three notes going home today that parents need to sign because of behavior. This is so rare. Even with moving them around the room and giving them brain breaks in the classroom isn't helping. If I was a drinking girl, I would be having a tall one tonight.

Sorry I have been MIA this week. My work is incredibly busy and add to that, N has been super sick. Looks like influenza got him but our pediatrician didn't test because he was already 5 days into it by the time we went in and she said there was no reason to test because if it was the flu there isn't anything we could do but ride it out. She checked his white blood count and it was fine so there weren't any infections to worry about. He has been fever free now since Wednesday and actually went to daycare for a full day today! We leave for FL on Tuesday so hopefully he is 100% by then. Luckily DS1 and I seem to be spared. My H is a hypochondriac and decided yesterday he felt "off" so he is at urgent care right now getting a flu test. I'll feel a little bad if it comes back positive but keeping my fingers crossed it is negative. He will be in the 48 hour window though and can take tamiflu so hopefully he will be ok by next week.

Hi, all! I am so so glad it is Friday. I need a weekend. I actually even have a long weekend, because I work the following Saturday. I am so bummed though. The little league that DD1 is in for T ball cancelled opening day ceremonies tomorrow because it is supposed to rain all day. Which, I understand, but now the opening day will be the following Saturday- when I work. I purposely made sure that I wasn't working that day so I could be there. Oh well. The babysitter is going to go and hang out with DD2, so I will have her take videos (H will be coaching).

Our Saturday started with taking a puke-covered toddler out of her crib. I woke up to her coughing around midnight, but then she rolled over and went back to sleep, so she seemed fine. Apparently, she had actually thrown up and then she slept in it until almost 7. So gross. Pray for me that it was a one time thing and not this awful stomach bug!
