That’s crazy! Our schools go to june 26. Then June 27-28 our teacher work days only. So annoying. But we don’t ever have to worry about making up snow days so I guess that’s a trade off? Does Canada have a requirement of how many days the kids have to be in school? Ours is 170, which is why we have to make up days. Well technically it is 180-184ish days depending on the year. But not mandated that it has to be that exact number. We rarely drop much below 180 though. One year we had 178. We usually have 2-4 snow/cold days a year though. Our division also rarely cancels. It was -48C and we still had school.

Well happy Monday to all! I did not want to go to work today because I am exhausted and my stomach hurts, BUT I came in and saw an email that I (and everyone at my hospital with my certification) am getting an across the board 15% raise effective immediately! So exciting! Dayum, that is incredible! It is unheard of. Because of contract negotiations between the university and the union, we haven’t gotten even the 2% cost of living raise in 2+ years (which is actually lower than recommended since we are a HCoL area). I was supposed to get a title promotion at my 2 year mark, which was 1.5 years ago, and it can’t happen until they finish negotiations (it will be retroactive). Their reasoning for this 15% is that it is an emergency compensation raise, probably because we are the lowest paid in the city (and we have multiple competing hospital systems).

AJ is also toggling between 1 or 2 naps. I follow his cues and base it off what we need to do that day. Like if we have somewhere to be early afternoon I dont have him take a morning nap and just put him down for his afternoon nap earlier. We're straddling the one or two nap line as well. DD1 went to one nap on her own basically the second she hit a year old. I feel like this indecisive nap situation is much more annoying to work around. you're right, it really is. I try to not let him go over 30mins if he does take a morning nap or else he won't sleep in the afternoon. It's a difficult balance

Ds2 does one nap mid day (usually 12-230, today he's going down now -- 1230). He sleeps 630/7-8am with one wake up (but sleeps through the night every so often). He was up chatting for about an hour last night. 🤷 He started walking backwards this morning. His sleep is definitely interrupted lately by developmental stuff plus he is a drool fountain. He's teething like crazy. Yes. B has a cold and is drooling so there is fluid everywhere. Like back to carrying a burp cloth. And it’s fun when he sneezes and drool just flys everywhere.

B only gets one nap at daycare and we keep to the same schedule on weekends best we can. He normally is down 12-2 at school but on weekends he’s usually spent by 11:30. But he sleeps most nights 7pm-6am with one wake up which is nice. Minus lately when he’s been a hot mess between molars and a cold. Do we get a break after molars or straight to canines?I think we got like a 2-3 day reprieve before the canines started coming in. They seemed to come in more quickly though so that's something...

So I think I’m going back to work in September. 😬😬 totally mixed emotions. I took an extended mat leave from November - June and I have till March 30 to decide if I go back or if I resign.
I talked to my principal and she basically offered me my almost perfect position so I think I’ll take it and go back.
I’ve really missed teaching and being at work. So I think it will be good. Now to figure out childcare. Ooof. Not fun.

I have no idea if molars have come in for C. I don't think so. She has one bottom side tooth that just came in...

We're home!!! The highways opened around 12, they were a little trecherous for about 40miles but then it completely cleared up.only took us 20 extra minutes and we didn't have any potty stops🙌 I loved spending the extra time with my sister and having all the cousins together but I am looking forward to my bed tonight!

It’s only 7:30 and DS1 is sleeping, N fell asleep at 6:15 (really only napped today from 9:30-11) but then he woke up at 7, but spent the next half an hour screaming so he went back to bed. DD is laying in bed playing with her toys. I don’t even care. I didn’t realize it was only 7:30. But I have had a headache for the last 4 days. DH was up at 4 to go to work and is still gone, and I’m done parenting. Bed time it is. I’m already in pjs and laying in my bed I’m so tired.

Molars can get fucked. Luckily, N’s last one poked through this last weekend. He now has 4 teeth on top, two on the bottom, and all 4 molars through. He had another cold with a high fever over the weekend. He was so pathetic. He woke up at 2am with a fever but hasn’t had one since. Praise be. However, he is super snotty and threw up ALL over tonight after coughing. It was so gross.
My old ass dog randomly peed on my dining room floor this afternoon too. She never has accidents. My house needs help. Hopefully DS1 doesn’t get sick next.
I guess at least it is this week and not next when we go on vacation. We should all be healthy at this rate.

C has all of his molars. They all popped through at once a few weeks ago. Sometimes he gets super red cheeks and today he was crabby and biting on his finger but still no canines yet.

😬😬😬 how old again? 4.5. I'm sorry. I hope it's not bad news. But if it makes you feel any better, my 5-year-old is way more difficult to handle than my 1 year old. It hasn't been an easy age for us.

I went into N's room one morning and discovered one of our cats peed in his bed. Then, two days later I went to check in on him when I went to bed (my H did his bedtime those that night) and I could smell pee again. Come to find out it was dried on his bed (I know it wasn't N because he doesn't pee the bed and there is definitely a difference between human and cat pee). I said to my H, didn't you smell that at bedtime???!!! Pee is one of the worst smells.
