I'm sorry inthekitty, that's a lot to deal with. It sucks that you've had to deal with so many adults acting like greedy children all your life, especially when you were a child yourself. I'm sure the upcoming weeks and months will be more of the same and that really sucks.

Those of you who’s children had tonsillectomies: when did you start scaling back on the narcotic pain meds? I’m still alternating the hydrocodone and Motrin every 3 hours, she’s 3 days out from surgery.

We gave it to B the day of his surgery, overnight, the day following his surgery, that night, and maaaaybe the 3rd night just in case (but not during the day). 

eta: I was scared by the Narcan dose they gave us with the script, lol. But really, he just seemed to tolerate recovery really well so there didn't seem to be a need to keep pumping it in. I kept him on tylenol/motrin alternating for a day or so afterwards, then we'd dose him at bedtime for a couple days just to make sure he could sleep. I think he was completely done with meds by day 5 or 6.

Sierra had a bit of a rough time with her recovery, but I feel like we backed off the oxy around day 5 or 6.  Then the Tylenol a few days later.  But S also can't really tell me when shes in pain, so I didn't know till it was too late and she'd be a whiny mess.

A just spent an hour doing dishes. That are obviously used by everyone in the house. My mom came out of her room bitching that she didn't have hot water to take a bath... really?

I assume no dishwasher? Also, how many dirty dishes are left? An hour is pretty crazy unless dishes are being done every few days.

No dishwasher. Dad and I made separate dinners last night so there was a lot. And a lot of sippy cups. And he washes slow. But still, it was a mountain of dishes.

We go through a lot of dishes. I dont reuse cups or anything and with all the boys breakfast bowls and snack bowls and my dad cooking and eating all 3 meals at home- its a lot.

I have. It’s fun! And your parents sound like mine. Watching tv during the day is sacrilegious, but they’ll happily stay up till 3 in the morning to binge watch a show 😂.
