Age:4
Milestones: Nothing in particular.
Challenges: He's been EMOTIONAL lately. Turns out his cold was worse than I thought and he's actually recovering from an ear infection. I'll take my MOTY award now, please.
Funny/cute stories: Yesterday at his 4 YO check-up, he was making up elaborate stories for the eye chart, like instead of "house, square, circle, apple" it was "that's the house my dog lives in, that's the shape of his living room, that's the shape of the wheel on his car, and that's his afternoon snack." Finally, I told him he just had to say the shapes, and he was like, "UGH, house square circle apple." The poor tech was barely keeping it together.
I'm overwhelmed with life. Nothing bad, just a lot of stuff at once. It'll get better.
QOTW: In keeping with the "when I was a kid" theme- being home for a couple of weeks and getting to see my horse made me remember, when I was a kid, a horse trader had his farm right next to our property. He was good friends with my parents (kind of a father figure) and I thought he was my grandpa. He would use me to sell horses sometimes, like "look this giant horse is so gentle this random small child could ride him!" and really I'd been riding since I was teeny and I could handle a big horse pretty well. I *just* realized how sketch that whole thing actually was. I wonder how many people bought a totally inappropriate for their family horse from him because of that...
