@73jewels if it seems intermittent and kind of low level I would probably suspect that he’s feeling kind of anxious and that’s making his stomach uneasy.

tgrimes , klong11 , he has been going to the bathroom regularly, although I had noticed they were (TMI) kind of like little stones? But then last night before bed he had a good one. I told him I thought that he would feel better after that, but this morning he said it still hurt. mwhip as long as he doesn't need a shot, he likes the dr, so that wouldn't work! I have been saying that he can't have treats while he has a belly ache. So last night we were at a play date with some friends and they brought out juice boxes (his favorite thing) and I told him no, it was too sweet if his belly hurts. Then they had all sorts of desserts and I only let him have one small one. I explained why, again, and he said it doesn't hurt now! I told him he has to go 2 days without it hurting before he can have those treats. But then this morning again... The GI gave me a chart of poop to look at. Little stones are a sign of constipation. ETA: I'd give him some miralax for a couple days to see if that helps.

flamingo that accident on I70 was crazy! I watched the FB video that circulated from the truck driver and was in shock at how it seemed like people were driving too fast for conditions, although looking back on it, I was going 50 on my drive home in the same storm. They're predicting the same type of storm this evening/tonight. Where he was supposed to go, he was going to miss this storm, so his timing was going to be good.

Cadence found that if she yells her poop is wet, we'll wipe for her, so no she proclaims every time she poops that it is too wet for her to wipe herself. JUST WIPE YOUR OWN BUTT!!! Mh shouldn't have given her that damn crybaby "prize" so quickly.

So for the past week or so, S has randomly been complaining his stomach hurts. He's been mostly eating normal, although I have been definitely cautious about what and how much I am feeding him. Possible causes I think: 1) It doesn't hurt and he's lying 2) He's got a minor bug (no diarrhea that I've witnessed) 3) it's deferred from his emotional pain of MH being gone 4) something is actually wrong 9 times out of 10 I am fine thinking it is 1-3, but every so often I have started to panic thinking "what if something's wrong and I'm missing it!" Side note, when he had bronchitis last month, one of the things he kept complaining about was his stomach, but his appetite was great so I couldn't figure it out. Dr. said it's cause his lungs were swollen and pushing on his belly. I know it's not bronchitis (no cough or sore throat) but has me thinking could this be related to something else wrong? H has been doing this for a few weeks. I finally brought her to the doctor just in case and everything turned out fine. She said it’s probably constipation.

Surgery went well, he decided she didn’t need tubes so just tonsils and adenoids out. She came back pretty upset but I think the medicine kicked in because she’s calmed way down. Not sure how long we will be stuck here, she’s been downing water so that won’t delay us.

We are on schedule for a noon infusion today. Then hopefully discharge later afternoon or early evening. But the timing of things doesn’t look great with the weather so we will probably stay at my parents tonight instead of making the 3 hour drive in freezing rain. So far things have gone well but I think that she has a headache from it. She’s been moody and grimacing a lot. So we had some Motrin and a nap. She wanted to sit in her stroller so I sat her in it and she fell asleep super fast.

One of the school districts is closed today, so there is a school age girl in Cadence's class today. There have been a couple in there since Friday, but today there is just her. I know who she is and Cadence is obsessed with her. So she, of course, ditched her regular friends for this girl. She's going to be disappointed tomorrow when it goes back to normal.

- snip- jewels I am admittedly fairly low-key about kid illnesses and we do not rush to the pedi for everything, so feel free to take this with a grain of salt. But if he seems to be eating, acting and using the bathroom ok, I would guess 1 or 3. Maybe it's a nervous/anxious feeling? I've noticed an uptick in B talking about various ailments lately (anything from leg pain to headache to stomach...you name it) and when I'm like, "well if you're sick, we can't do X"...he is miraculously cured. I think a lot of the time they just want a bit of extra attention, and this is also the age where they realize they can fib and "fake" illnesses to get out of things. This is more my approach as well. I rarely take them to the pedi. Then I worry that I won't take them to the dr and it will actually be something serious! But that is why I kept saying no dessert or what not to try to make sure he's not faking it. My gut is that he's fine. Also, my stomach has been not great, but like I'm not sick it's just not 100%. So maybe he's feeling the same way?

tgrimes, that chart was both disgusting and helpful. I don't think he needs miralax, but maybe I will cut down his cheese intake and actually let him have the juice he's been asking for! trtlcrzy, glad she's doing well! lfig such a cutie, I hope the infusions help her!

trtlcrzy Glad she's drinking!! Hopefully y'all will get out of there soon. I'm trying to remember how long they kept us after B 'came to'...it wasn't too long, maybe an hour and a half? So I had texted our sitter a couple weeks back asking if she was available this coming weekend. She never responded, which is unlike her, but she just transferred colleges and I figured she probably got busy and meant to respond 'no' and forgot. NBD. I just got a text from her out of the blue saying she can come on Friday. We had talked about going out for an adults-only dinner with my parents but I scratched that plan when I didn't hear back. So now I'm trying to decide if I'm going to get motived, pick a restaurant, etc., or just forget about it and do something kid-friendly. #FWP

jewels I have not read responses yet, but I recently read an article about how anxiety can manifest as stomach pain. It's an actual physical response, so barring a gastrointestinal issue, that could be what's going on and he's not lying. I'll see if I can find the article and link it.

Good luck with the loose tooth peachsmama. Cadence has another one, a top front. I'm not ready for big kid teeth in her little mouth....neither is her mouth(braces are in our future)

dapostrophe Lucky you, what an invite! For $200, obviously not, but for $20? I'd be sorely tempted for the entertainment value alone. That is the kind of snarky thing one of my good friends and I from college would do. Well, for $7 I can swing by the studio, say "hi" to her and ask questions about their packages. I'm not guaranteed to leave with as much sparkle though. Wish you lived closer, I would buy us both tickets!

Omg I cannot with the loose teeth, I saw on FB or IG that slenle 's N has one, too?? I don't remember when i lost my first one but it was at least Kindergarten, if not 1st grade-age. We need to get some family pictures scheduled this spring b/c I want a few last shots before B loses any teeth. I feel like once the permanent ones start coming in, they immediately look so much older

H is currently snuggled up and sleeping in my bed.

I'm not ready for big kid teeth in her little mouth....neither is her mouth(braces are in our future) He saw an episode of team umizoomi about the tooth fairy and was trying to pull his teeth out the other day. So he is super excited. She's thinks it will still be about a month before it falls out, as it's just barely loose. But it was all discolored and I was thinking it was another cavity. And it's one of his front 2 teeth so I was happy to hear its just because it was loose!

I think I lost my last baby tooth when I was a senior in high school. I was hoping they would go that route lol.
