I have an interview Friday at 9am with the company that's close to my house. I've got a list of questions already, because it will take me a lot to leave my current position.
I hate that it's at 9...I'm trying to decide if I just take PTO all day Friday, which I hate to take so early in the year. But if I do change companies, I need to use my personal time because we don't get paid for them if we leave. Or if I make up something (dr appt maybe) and just leave for the time of the interview.

tgrimes what was all the blood from? Not tgrimes, but I'm guessing a bloody nose. If she was messing with her nose, plus dry air.... That's what I was *hoping* for, but wanted to make sure!

We’re all checked in, just waiting to talk to the doctor. The nurse that did her intake is the same nurse I had when she was born. She was our nurse the first time S got tubes too. H isn’t crabby about being hungry yet, so that’s good. Smooth surgery today!

M didn't want to get out of bed this morning. I finally persuaded her to let me turn the light on so we could get her dressed. When I turned around to get her leggings from the dresser it was like a scene from a horror film. There was blood all over her face, hands, nightgown, sheets...everywhere. I was trying not to freak her out but it was horrible looking. Oh no! Was it a bloody nose?

In a successful attempt to bring back a good mood in my kids I find myself in an indoor playground. So many sounds. So many colours. Send help. And wine.

mwhip that bug sounds awful, hope he feels better. Mh had some intestinal distress but didn't throw up. He was moving extra slow yesterday and the kids legit watched TV all day, but I think he knew a puking pregnant wife with a fever trumps diarrhea🙌

trtlcrzy, I hope all goes smoothly for her! tgrimes I've definitely had that happen. It's terrifying before you realize it's just a bloody nose. And S FREAKS out when he sees the blood so I have to try to move him and clean him up w/out him seeing! tallb glad you all seem to be on the mend, and yes, puking pregnant wife trumps all.

Decided to keep Dude home to rest another day. My mom will keep an eye on him while I’m at therapy with X.
We have a pretty full day tomorrow for Xander’s speech, OT, and social/behavioral evaluations.
We decided to go through with the social/behavioral piece just to see what they say even though I still think that’s really premature and we have decided we are not going to do ABA regardless, so that should be interesting.

So for the past week or so, S has randomly been complaining his stomach hurts. He's been mostly eating normal, although I have been definitely cautious about what and how much I am feeding him. Possible causes I think:
1) It doesn't hurt and he's lying 2) He's got a minor bug (no diarrhea that I've witnessed) 3) it's deferred from his emotional pain of MH being gone 4) something is actually wrong
9 times out of 10 I am fine thinking it is 1-3, but every so often I have started to panic thinking "what if something's wrong and I'm missing it!"
Side note, when he had bronchitis last month, one of the things he kept complaining about was his stomach, but his appetite was great so I couldn't figure it out. Dr. said it's cause his lungs were swollen and pushing on his belly. I know it's not bronchitis (no cough or sore throat) but has me thinking could this be related to something else wrong?

Hi ladies. That sounds like a nightmare mwhip. Good luck toady trtlcrzy. Back to reality here. Last night I had fun watching the girls at TKD. Cass is so proud to get other kids into hand locks. I was thinking of what you said the other day about forcing littles into classes flamingo because in the next class for the little kids ages 3-5 there was a boy there who might not even have been 3, or at the most he was a very young 3. He didn't participate at all. The instructor tried to get him to join in and he sat on his mom's lap the entire time. The mom didn't even try to get him out there but sat through the whole class. All I could think is why bother? I figured maybe there was an older sibling in class so she thought she'd try it with the younger one. Nope. Just sat there the entire time with a kid who had no interest because he was far too young. I wouldn't want to waste the time or money being there.

Totally understandable. It never hurts to make an appt with the pedi and let them feel around a bit. Could be nothing. Could be he's a little backed up.

jewels, I hate that. Cass often complains about her throat and stomach hurting and I know a lot of the time it's nothing serious, but I still worry about blowing off something real. Since MH's side of the family has severe somatization issues sometimes I semi-freak out and go overboard trying to downplay any possible somatization.

jewels What would he say if you asked him if he thought he needed to go to the doctor to see what's wrong? Evie doesn't enjoy going to the doctor, so I'm pretty sure her response would let me know if there was something really bothering her or not.

tgrimes, klong11, he has been going to the bathroom regularly, although I had noticed they were (TMI) kind of like little stones? But then last night before bed he had a good one. I told him I thought that he would feel better after that, but this morning he said it still hurt. mwhip as long as he doesn't need a shot, he likes the dr, so that wouldn't work! I have been saying that he can't have treats while he has a belly ache. So last night we were at a play date with some friends and they brought out juice boxes (his favorite thing) and I told him no, it was too sweet if his belly hurts. Then they had all sorts of desserts and I only let him have one small one. I explained why, again, and he said it doesn't hurt now! I told him he has to go 2 days without it hurting before he can have those treats. But then this morning again...

jewels, increase his water intake to tackle the stone poop. I usually give Cadence a list when she says her stomach hurts, "do you need to poop, are you going to throw up, are you hungry?" Most of the time she is hungry or needs to poop.

mwhip I saw on the news the massive freeway pile-up there in KC from all the ice. Probably for the best your H is off the roads for another day or so anyway. Praying for your sanity during this time dapostrophe Lucky you, what an invite! For $200, obviously not, but for $20? I'd be sorely tempted for the entertainment value alone. That is the kind of snarky thing one of my good friends and I from college would do. jewels I am admittedly fairly low-key about kid illnesses and we do not rush to the pedi for everything, so feel free to take this with a grain of salt. But if he seems to be eating, acting and using the bathroom ok, I would guess 1 or 3. Maybe it's a nervous/anxious feeling? I've noticed an uptick in B talking about various ailments lately (anything from leg pain to headache to stomach...you name it) and when I'm like, "well if you're sick, we can't do X"...he is miraculously cured. I think a lot of the time they just want a bit of extra attention, and this is also the age where they realize they can fib and "fake" illnesses to get out of things.

I probably wouldn't bother with the doctor unless there really seems to be something wrong. Cass usually just needs to go to the bathroom or eat something healthy when she has a stomachache...or it magically disappears when she's distracted by playing.
