I’m around. Nothing much to add. DD is on holiday for the next week.

DS has a 4 day weekend. We started our day with a developmental pedi appt.
DH's parents are visiting coincidentally. I'm not really looking forward to it. They get in tonight at some point.

Hello!

I'm frustrated today. I'm not feeling well and I'm overall very emotional.

PDQ the next part.I need to vent a little.

I'm very much a yes or no type person. "Maybe" as an answer annoys creates too many unknowns for me and creates a lot of anxiety. I suggested yesterday to gf that she should come over tomorrow to watch movies. She answered "okay!!!" and seemed to be excited and onboard with the plan. Today when I brought up her coming over tomorrow she flipped her answer to "maybe" and then was visibly frustrated when I shut down a little with her when we were leaving work. She was on her way to a funeral tonight so I did not want to get into it, but fuck. If you don't want to come over it's fine. Just say no. Don't say maybe so I spend my whole freaking Friday night cleaning and then Saturday wondering if we're doing something. I could make plans with other people.

She's sensitive and I have no idea how to broach the subject without upsetting her but I'm upset and I don't want to stew about it. I'll probably have to bring it up on Sunday when we're face to face with each other because this can't be a phone conversation. I know sometimes maybe is an okay answer but it's not okay for this for me. Maybe I'm in the wrong but if I don't have plans with her tomorrow night I'll make other plans. It's not hard to say, "Yes, that sounds great." or "I'd love to but Saturday doesn't work this week."

stitch could it be that the funeral was on her mind and she was a little distracted to give a yes/no answer?
Anyways, sounds like a conversation to have at some point how you like solid answers when it comes to things like movie nights etc. but not to get into it when emotions are high?

But I agree, vague plans spoil the option of making other plans.

loveswaffles - it did end up being a "No", but she dropped DS and I off dinner. I have a cold and was in rough shape yesterday and she insisted on bringing is food. She also brought grapes because DS love them and they were on sale, plus drinks and treats.

I'm seeing her tonight so all is well. I am going to bring up the "maybe" topic because it's important that I do so we don't miscommunicate and create hurt feelings in the future.

DH & I have been together over 16 years & there's still some things with our communication that get the better of us once in a while.

I am in no mood to be here or anywhere by myself with just them without DH. We don't have that kind of relationship. Not to mention they aggravate me each & every time they come out here so no thanks.
I'm glad the weekend is over.

Not much is happening over here. I've been anxiously waiting for the summer parks & rec guide to be posted online. I have reminders on my phone for pool passes and camp sign ups. After the polar vortex and the crap summer I had last year, I'm getting excited to start fresh.

She's from Italy. Like came to the United States as a young adult with her family from Italy & in the past couple years has visited & claimed that the climate there magically makes all her back problems go away. Like she feels like a whole new person so her & my dad came up with this idea that she'll start the process of living there because obtaining residency is a whole big ordeal & when he retires, then he'll join her.
So she got an apartment & said she's gonna do a trial extended stay & see if she likes it this time of year bc when she went out there to visit it's always been in the summer & see if she "still feels the same way" & go from there.
The whole thing is so obnoxious to me.
Like have you heard of California, Arizona, Nevada?? There's plenty of different climate places in the US that could fit your needs but she's so judgmental even though she's never been to these places & just shoots these places down like no, Italy is where it's at. Okay cool.
Then she wonders why I am the way I am with her. The other day she texted asking for some pics for her phone. I didn't send any. Like yo, you haven't even been out to see your grandson at his house since his 4th birthday but you're moving to Italy. Hokay. She only sees him when we make the drive there. Most recently was because of darn funerals but it's been about a year now. Like if you have no desire then I'm good but her narcissistic nature sees it the other way. It's all about her being the victim.
When she was telling me about this whole plan it was almost like she was wanting me to be so happy for her or something & meanwhile I'm on the phone like okayyyy.....

thanks but unfortunately I am so used to a variety of shenanigans since being a teenager that I don't let it get to me anymore. It is what it is. She's the one missing out, not me.

We have a conference with DS' teacher this evening & it's been nerve wracking because these aren't the standard everyone gets one conferences. It's only if the teacher requests one. He's never gotten one this time of year at his previous school so idk what to think of it.
They always sing his praises so I'm confused why they'd want us in.

I'm excited for this weekend. It's a girlfriend weekend so I get four days/nights with my girl starting tomorrow night. We have a wonderfully lazy weekend planned and I can't wait to get it started.
