Hi all.
Kids seemed fine this morning so everyone is back at school.
I am thinking about calling it a day and signing off to rest because I can’t seem to kick this bug.

Morning! I am sitting at my desk barefoot with my socks and shoes laying in front of a space heater trying to dry them because I ran through a puddle and got myself soaked in the rain this morning on my way in. I need to be working on hiring for my seasonal staff but have been told to hold off to see what happens on the 15th (another shutdown?).
I had to have a meeting with the school this morning about S. Her aide, who I really like, had been shotgun texting me everyday. Telling me every move she makes. She also have been having increased seizure activity, which we know. But she texts constantly things like "she just had a pretty good seizure" "she is not acting like herself, just wants to lay around" "she doesn't want to get up and play at all" "more seizures" "I really hope she's not getting sick, she just wants to be held" "I feel so bad for her when she has all these seizures"....but it is all day every day. It has resulted in me going to pick her up from school twice this week, 3 times last week. Because I feel guilty leaving her there when I get those texts. But the fact is, this is part of it. It is part of the battle. When she has increased seizure activity, she doesn't want to do much. Some days are going to be like this. I guess we are just kind of numb to it because we are used to it, but I don't want to look like a cold heartless parent leaving my kid there after getting all those messages. So I go get her. Then they say it wasn't necessary, they were just trying to keep me in the loop. But most of that is not helpful, and it gave me the feeling that they thought I should get her. So we have come up with a plan, and they will only have the nurse call me if there is something concerning. Otherwise they will now document her seizures through the day and how she was that day and send it home in her backpack. I hate conflict so it was an awkward conversation to have this morning. But glad we got it rectified!

It's moving day! My body aches from all the files and boxes I've moved and shit. I'm ready for it to be done. Maybe I'll call in "sick" tomorrow.  |

I had a good run but finally caught the cold mh had. Also it took an hour and 20 min to get home last night, thankfully I had a bag of pretzels so the kids were content. I was the most grumpy.
And then I had a 6:30 meeting with qatar, so an early morning.
Oh and my private school is having a major scandal about abuse allegations going back decades and my sis added me to a group of alumni on FB. It's so depressing to read about, I thankfully had a wonderful experience there, just sucks.

tgrimes I’m so sorry he’s still so sick. lfig I’m glad you got that conversation out of the way. ladystrat so happy your ultrasound went well! We sent another offer in for the beach house, waiting to hear back. I have to pick DD up in a few for the dentist. Today was originally a half day then the school canceled it but this appointment was rescheduled already from when we got sick in December so I’m not changing it again.

I'm cursing the universe on your behalf tgrimes. Lol at B vino. Claiming his space. lfig, glad you got that straightened out. Totally understandable that would be distracting. Not much going on here. We're preparing for our own little snowmageddon. We're supposed to get anywhere from 2-7 inches this weekend (which is a lot for us). I ordered new snow pants and boots for Cass since I discovered hers were high waters. And guess what? I work this weekend. And they're planning exercise outdoors.  |

BIL’s mom came and picked up the kids an hour ago which I wasn’t expecting. I worked out and am now cuddled up with N and H watching a movie. Hoping they both nap today so i can sneak one in too.
H woke up at 4am and came into our room completely naked. He had wet the bed, got up and took all his clothes off, put them in his hamper and brought new pjs into us. He was shivering cold but it was cute. Then he snuggled up and actually went back to sleep for a bit.

tgrimes poor H. This is so frustrating for you all. It isn't fair for any of you! We discovered this morning that only 6 of us could login from home. I did everything I needed to, then logged off and did the elliptical. H just heades south so he can be at a customers first thing in the AM. Im waiting for an update on the roads, thinking about taking evie to stay at MILs tonight instead of driving there at 6:30 in the morning.

I’m so ready to go home. I’m on my last patient, and then I just sit here until 5. I did bring my binder stuffed with recipes from the last who-knows-how-many-years to sort through and get organized. I’ve been meaning to do this for a while, so it should be satisfying to finally get it done.

Just had another fight with the driver that is always causing me issues. He forgets that my dad is home 24/7 right now and when he calls, I put it on speaker because hes a lying dirt bag. After he hung up on me, he called my dad to complain about it. And lied about the conversation my dad heard. I want to fire him. If he was here, I'd probably kick him in the balls. He was so disrespectful and hateful its ridiculous.

And was trying to do that this time but he literally would not let me get a word in. Just screaming at me. I finally got out "give me some time to go through the paperwork and I will get back to you" and he said "I just cant deal with you!" And hung up on me.. I went through the paperwork and showed him that I was correct in an email. He called my dad and said he saw his mistake now. I'm like well gee thanks for apologizing to the person you didn't yell at! Dumb ass. |

peachsmama I totally agree he should have apologized to you and its total bullshit. Unfortunately, with the industry you are working in, you will have to get used to it. Women are not that common in the trucking world, especially not in a power position. Drivers also are a different breed. I am in no way condoning his behavior...I've just worked in plenty of male dominated industries.
