joelies how is your foot/ankle healing? I'm sure youre super frustrated with not being able to run, but you'll be back at it soon and kicking ass!

It was thundering and lightining last night while raining/sleeting. H ended up staying home today, so no binging Netflix today, we don't watch the same thing. I have some work to get done and want to work out.

DH is working from home today so he is taking C to school and picking him up later for karate. It is so nice being able to get to work early and leave early. I haven't actually worked much though. But I did price out a Bermuda cruise for next spring. They have one that leaves from Boston so we wouldn't have to deal with airfare. We will see how the rest of the year goes and if it seems worth it later in the year. The only downside from Boston is that it is cool on the ship until you reach a certain point so you don't really want to swim. We didn't swim at all when we went in 10yrs ago but I know C would want to.

Morning! I woke up at five from coughing, and didn’t want to wake the whole house, so I went downstairs, made myself coffee and put on the Gilmore girls. Both kids are fine today, thank goodness. Crazy busy day at work today and diner with colleagues right after. I’m so freaking tired, but Dh said it might be good to have a break & he’s right.

Morning, all! We're on snow day #11 for the year over here. The kids will be making several up at some point.

I'm sitting in bed watching the Maldives beach via YouTube. It's the little things keeping me sane.

Ultrasound at ten, movie tonight. Don't even know what's playing. I just know we're getting out of this house.

Morning. Snow day here because of a blizzard warning. Thursday is the only day I don’t want a snow day because both girls normally go to school that day. I have my annual skin check at the derm scheduled for today but I think I’m going to reschedule because I really don’t want to bring the girls along to that. Tonight I work so that should be a fun drive.

Morning! I had planned to watch my sisters youngest two today since she’s out of town. Well, school is cancelled due to snow so I have the older 2 as well. Wish me luck! Well be stuck inside all day since it’s too cold to go out and play and I don’t have a vehicle to fit everyone. BIL brought donuts when we dropped them off so they all got started with a sugar kick

My parents are supposed to babysit tonight because we have a meeting but we’ll see if they come because they are the worst dealing with any sort of bad weather.

Thanks for checking on me, mwhip! The ankle is doing well - swelling and bruising are way down though I'm still relying heavily on the crutches for DH's peace of mind. I was bummed about Boston when it first happened but honestly I'm fine and have zero interest in rushing it. I have a lifetime of running ahead of me as long as I don't do something dumb to cause recurring injuries. I've seen it happen, it's not pretty!

I would LOVE to get on the bike though, just to get some kind of cardio going before my endurance is all gone. Soon enough.

Morning all.

I’ve got the day off; B has a dentist check up, I’ve got to buy some ski boots, we both have eye appointments then we’ve got to get Valentines for B’s kinder class, daycare class and J’s room also.

I’m drinking coffee and waiting for J to wake up, but B has started his day by putting this out at his bedroom door. This may be the most aggressive thing he’s ever done.

H has a temp of 102 and the nastiest shit is coming out of his ear. I shouldn’t be surprised with how snotty he’s been but fuck. He could have done without an ear infection on top of the flu.

Anyhow hiiiii. Work has been busy and I'm feeling stressed about some of the deadline we have coming up, but I can only do what I can do. We're all getting by at home just fine during the week but DH just filled his weekend with more plans, which is sweet but he didn't HAVE to. He's taking Colin to a Fairfield U basketball game on Saturday afternoon and to ski on Sunday. School is out next Friday and he's already decided to take the day off to do something one-on-one with Colin, which is awesome. He'd just better not complain to me anymore about how busy his weekends are, haha.

Kind of on that note, DH has very different relationships with Colin and Chase. He was far more involved with Chase as a baby than he was with Colin since he really let me take the lead when we only had one, so he's generally more affectionate with Chase. But he also sees more of himself in Chase than in Colin and tends to be overly critical of Colin. But I've seen him make so much of an effort lately to connect with him and spend time with him, and to build up shared interests. It makes me really happy.

Thanks for the check in. M went to school today, but I don’t think I will let him stay the whole day. My good friend is off and has no plans, so I may see if she can pick him up after his nap. He was pretty congested this morning, but was more like himself, so I hope he has an ok day.

M2 has been the funniest kid lately. He picks up on all that we do and when he tried to do it himself, it’s hilarious. Every time he follows me in the bathroom, he has to grab some tissue and reaches to “wipe me”. Lol. And because M2 always poops before getting in the bath, he has to sit on the toilet for 3 seconds, grab some tissue, reach behind him like he is wiping himself, and hops off to flush. He doesn’t ever actually pee or poop, but I guess he feels like a big kid.
