Can somebody tell me about reusable swim diapers? Do they contain liquids as well as solids? Like, do I have to worry that Abigail will pee through it and soak her car seat on the way to the pool if we put her in her swimsuit at home?
Any brand in particular that is good?

layloo so happy your mom got great news!! Betweenthelines we just realized B is getting (at least) one molar! That may have contributed to the challenges we've had with eating this week. Drinking some coffee and watching Bugs Bunny. I'm heading to Sephora in a bit, highlighter will be purchased. Wedding this evening... no one I know well, but I'll eat the food and drink the wine. Report back on which one you pick!! It might be worth it to buy it online after you test in store to get: 1) 3 free samples 2) one free mini or deluxe sample Just saying.... The samples would have been nice, but I needed it for tonight! I bought the becca poured cream one in pearl!

armpants tread carefully with this. My cousin had a similar situation happen and their child was removed from their care while an investigation was done. Very similar, my aunt (the grandma) picked up the child and he was sluggish. Found to have a concussion or fracture can't remember which. Daycare said he was sluggish when he was brought in. Parents said he wasn't. It was he said she said. The investigation didn't last long but their son couldn't be with anyone who was with him within 24 hours. Luckily my aunt wasn't with him so she was able Up care for him during this time

armpants that's brutal. Even if they didn't catch the incident that caused the bump (fall, likely) you'd think he would have. Wen bawling... and then they'd check to see what was wrong. I'd be so mad.

They do not really contain liquids— they're just meant to catch poop, just like the disposables. Actually, P peed on my H after swim class today because he was holding her and she was still in her swim diaper. That said, we use them. I think I have the iPlay brand. The most important thing is snaps on the side to make changing easier.

Oh hai! Day 15 of solo parenting. My Dad came to visit for a week and just left this morning. I'm exhausted! I'm planning to have the laziest afternoon of all time. armpants, I am so sorry! I would be livid too. I hope they have some sort of explanation on Monday.

armpants I don't want to sound mean or worry you or make it seem like this does not matter. I'm saying that they could easily say "we'll he didn't fall and hurt himself here it must have happened when he was at home with the parents"

The reusable swim diapers we use are similar to pocket cloth diapers without the absorbant insert inside. Do you have any pocket diapers? You could put the cloth diaper on her for the drive and pull out the insert when you arrive. Reusable diapers don't contain pee but they do catch solid poops. Dump it out, quick rinse and then back in the pool (well depends on the particular qualities of the poop haha) My favourite brands: mini kiwi, apple cheeks. The Kushies or Charlie Banana brands from Toys R Us aren't bad tho. They are made different so you may have to try some on her so make sure they fit properly.

I talked to s1 about why he gets so upset when Ethan is awake and making noise or "noise" and he said "because I am afraid Ethan will wake up he voices l. Those voices I heard that one time". I really don't know how to fix this other than just keep telling him there are no voices and he had a bad dream.

Thanks everyone, we got him up after 3 hours so he could eat. He's still sluggish, but happy and smiling. jedi trust me in that I've thought of that. Sadly I've even thought that he could stay with my dad if that happened, but my god I hope it doesn't. I'm going to call the director on Monday and tell her what happened, that he will no longer be going there. I hope they will give me back my money for this next week that I've already paid. They do have a two week notice required, but he hasn't taken his vacation weeks this year, so worst case I say they count the money as payment for the two weeks on vacation. I'll set up a time with the director to go and get his stuff and give her a chance to get his teachers account of the day. I want to hear it, but I do not want to see her.

I think that's the way I'm leaning, too... I'm a bit self conscious about it for some reason but I feel like it being out accentuates my hips

taketheshot it's the waistband on the skirt that makes day out. I'd add a belt if you wanted it in.

armpants, I'm really sorry. I would be livid too. I hope M recovers quickly. aydee, others have already weighed ins but we use the reusable swim diapers and we never had a problem with them until out recent vacation to Hawaii when C peed through them. I think she has more volume now that just doesn't get all absorbed. I probably would not use them in a car seat without precautions. To get out of my bad mood, we took C too the zoo for a couple hours. I don't love zoos, but my daughter loves to see the animals, so we go. She kept saying "Momma, train, yes? I ride Choo-choo?" It was cute and we rode the train.

It's before 7pm on a Saturday, is it too early for me to get in bed?
I am so wiped out but we had a fun time in Busch Gardens (Williamsburg). We went with my sister's family and they were the best tour guides ever. E had a blast and rode all the rides that were appropriate for his age I think. We saw an Elmo show and almost went to the pet show but E was napping at the time. Nobody got sunburn and I think we all stayed hydrated. Most importantly, he slept all through the night last night in the hotel in his Pack n Play. The night before that in the hotel was a little rough, he only lasted half an hour in the PNP and then was in bed with me all night. But we had a fun fun time. I can't wait to go on our next trip with him to the beach with my family. It is also really nice going places with a bunch of people (my sis, BIL and their 3 kids) that are into helping us take care of E. Way easier than trying to juggle it all ourselves.
I'll catch up on here a bit but might not make it too long, I have a new issue of Vogue to get in bed with.

armpants, that is so so horrible. I would be so mad and sad and all sorts of emotions. And, not to criticize your parenting (at all! please don't take it that way) but are movies a bad idea? I know for my students with concussions, they are supposed to have zero screen time at first, including TV I think. Just trying to look out for you guys.

jedi, hope you are having fun on your date by now! coconutbacon, sorry to hear about the pool closing, I get annoyed when my planned workout doesn't happen due to circumstances like that. jess213, are your inlaws also in town? or is that amichelle723? I think I was mixing up the two of you....but I was thinking dang, jess213 has a full house this week! Peekaru, I am a freak about plans for trips too, especially for international travel. I like to have everything planned out logistically as best I can, and I feel like it usually helps things to flow smoothly, so it is worth it! sizzleb, what was your book club this month? I need new ideas of books to read, I will probably try to borrow some from the library this week. I take recs in English or Spanish! Anyone else with any good ones lately? skinandbones, glad you had a fun night! A friend of mine tried to take me out on a date to see them once but I wasn't interested in him "like that" so I turned him down, but maybe I should have gone just to see the concert! OK, I know I'm missing some of you but I better get to bed. Whew, 7:12. Late.

easternshoregirl the doctor said our plan of movies and cuddles was a good one. I think because it was over 12 hours since it could have happened things were more lax.

We use the iplay swim diapers. We've use them for 3.5 years now! They will not keep liquids in at all. So they are not safe for carseats
