Week/EDD: 21+5
Baby is the size of: a carrot
FTM, Etc: FTM
Team: 💙
Appointments: nothing until mid-Feb
Milestones: nothing new this week
Symptoms: tired, back pain, still have some scent aversion to foods
Rants: I realized that next week when H goes to CA for his dad’s bday, I have to take care of the animals. Not a big deal, but he’s been so good about dealing with the litter box and chickens since we started FET prep. He picked up some gloves for me to use to be extra safe with the chickens. I’m not too worried about toxoplasmosis from the cat, she’s been indoor only for 12 years, so highly unlikely that there’s any new exposure. But the chickens are (naturally) outside, so much more likely to actually have diseases in their poo.
Raves: we picked up the crib from our friends! They also gave us a few crib sheets they still had, plus a Boppy and covers. I’m excited to put the crib together this weekend!

Week/EDD: 19w5d
Baby is the size of: zucchini
FTM, Etc: stm
Team: 💙
Appointments: Just had my anatomy scan and I’m currently waiting in the obs office.
Milestones: Team blue! DS is so happy for a baby brother! I’m processing it, since it will be our last and I kind of wanted a girl.
Symptoms: Just random annoying pains
Rants: Still waiting to hear about our housing situation. We should hear today or tomorrow.
Raves: As long as the ob doesn’t spring any surprises on me, the baby appeared to be healthy, which is at least one big load off my shoulders! I’ve been so anxious about that and the housing stuff. I’m ready to just relax...

Baby looks great according to the ob, but we need to go back for another ultrasound in 8weeks bc he wouldn’t open his hands (I’d assume that is pretty normal?).
Now I just get to dread my glucose test for the next 5 weeks. Blood draws tend to make me pass out.

Week/EDD: due May 9. 25 weeks 5 days I think
Baby is the size of: a napa cabbage
STM
Team: green
Appointments: next week
Milestones: hmm nothing I can think of
Symptoms: I'm kind of getting worried about how large I am already. I feel like I'm barely going to be able to walk towards the end!
Rants: we just found out DHs entire family is getting together for his grandmas birthday in a couple weeks. I don't want to disappoint DH but I really have no plans on going, although he is welcomed to go by himself. It's a three hour drive one way. Last time I was pregnant we traveled to Colorado around this time in my pregnancy but I'm finding it way harder to travel this time around. Honestly I know I still have a ways to go but I have no plans to travel or do anything besides my normal routine for the rest of my pregnancy.
Raves: I'm so glad January is almost over.It was the longest month ever and we have a lot of exciting things going on in February

mamabear02,Congrats on another little boy! I would assume the hand thing is pretty normal. I'm also dreading the glucose test. I don't have any probably with getting my blood drawn but getting it drawn after not eating all morning is so terrible. I hate feeling so light headed.

bonzo, Yes I go through the the same thing when my H is away! Luckily my brother comes over to help with the heavy work for the animals. The gloves are a good idea though. Also you are starting to make me feel very behind in regards to being prepared for this baby. Your nursery is coming together and you're about to have the crib ready and I have absolutely nothing done. Maybe I'll stop being so lazy and get some things together this weekend lol.

Mine told me to fast for both the 1 hour and the 3 hour, but I know some practices do not do that. I downed some Chic-fil-a so fast after my 3 hour this morning, I was so hungry.

Dr. Google was not kind on this clenched fist thing. Apparently it’s an indicator of Trisomy 18 (which my Dr. didn’t mention-I’m assuming because my risk is likely low). Even still I’m freaking out a little, but trying to be rational. I have not done any screening because we will not terminate no matter what. But, this is the only indicator and I’m not advanced maternal age. She also wants to wait 8weeks for the recheck- so likely no big deal, right?

Week: 24w 2d
STM: E 3 y/o 💓
Team: 💙
Symptoms: So much heartburn. Starting to get uncomfortable in bed flopping around like a whale. Vomiting 2-3x a week. Headaches.
Milestones: Anatomy scan was all good at our 20w appt.
Raves: E’s big girl bedroom is done. Baby boy nursery is done. We are now renovating our living room- the flooring is stripped and I have some painting to finish- H should be laying flooring/baseboards this weekend. I want to get a new L shaped couch with recliners. Much excite.
Rants: None currently.

Babies are notoriously uncooperative. That being said you can always do the genetic screening now if you like (I believe). Finding out about a genetic abnormality isn’t primarily to be able to make a decision about continuation of the pregnancy- if there is a genetic abnormality like trisomy 18 it would be good to be prepared— mentally, with specialists, possibly delivering at a different hospital, seeing maternal fetal specialist, etc rather than finding out at delivery.

sunny75, with the nursery stuff, remember that I’m a designer! So, it’s fun for me to do this sort of thing. Plus, after spring break I’ll be working 6 days a week until the play goes up at the end of April, so I won’t have much time then at all. mamabear02, do t worry too much about what Google says. I think the fact that your doctor wants to wait 8 weeks for another ultrasound is reassuring, because she probably isn’t too worried. But you could always do extra genetic testing at this point, just to be prepared. It’s up to you!

Mine told me to have a normal breakfast for the 1 hour, but that if I failed that and had to do the 3 hour it would be fasting. When I did a 2 hour for my RE, that was fasting.

Week/EDD: 23w 3d
Baby is the size of: Mango
FTM, Etc: STM
Team: Blue
Appointments: Feb 7th for the second ultrasound on his heart, which was supposed to be last week, and for our 24 week check up. We had to cancel last week because of snow.
Milestones: Not much, I know I'm not taking bump pictures, which makes me feel bad, but it's been so busy.
Symptoms: My back is acting up again a little, and sometimes when I try to use my abs it feels like someone is poking me in the stomach. Oh, and the heartburn has arrived. With DS1 it was bad from the start, and never let up. This time it's not too bad, but still a lot.
Rants: Just trying to get taxes done. All the work is done, I'm just waiting on 1099's to show up.
Raves: Fun to watch my belly move, the kid gets some pretty solid kicks in.

@starzia, thank you for both of those stories. They definitely help. Yesterday after getting some time to cry I’m definitely feeling less anxious and more logical about everything.

Week/EDD: 18
Baby is the size of: sweet potato
FTM, Etc: TTM
Team: Green
Appointments: Not this week
Milestones: ?
Symptoms: Stopped taking the progesterone supplements so think that's helped with the symptoms, though am still pretty sensitive to scents and still congested. But overall feeling ok this week. Oh, I have started to become crazy hungry lately though.
Rants: I hate winter - snowstorms, polar vortex, and now freezing rain is in the forecast. I'm terrified of slipping on ice. I'm sick of DH having to work non stop (he's a plow driver). I keep reminding myself that this is temporary but January lasted for about 500 days and I'm ready for spring now please.
Raves: DS said he might like to move his bedroom to the basement. I'm not going to push him if he's not ready, but it would be fun to have a whole room to decorate vs. trying to figure out how to fit baby into DD's room.

bearfootzcontinued, stopping progesterone definitely helped some of my symptoms! They didn’t go away completely, but I felt a lot better. I’m glad you’re feeling better too!

bearfootzcontinued- it definitely does feel like January was 500 days (and we weren’t even in the polar vortex area). Also +1 to being hungry all the time.
