I'm sorry calendula, I'd be disappointed about those things, too, and lack of sleep makes everything so much harder to cope with. I hope that, at least in the short term, you guys all get healthy and start sleeping better soon.

My kids are both sick, too, and it's been tough. It's N's first illness (other than a slight cold in December that didn't amount to much) and my toddler's hardly ever been sick, so I'm feeling inexperienced. Poor N is terribly congested and developed a fever this afternoon, and my son is on day 5 of fever. Miraculously, I haven't caught it yet, but my husband says he's getting a sore throat...

calendula i don’t blame you for complaining or feeling stuck. hopefully things start looking up for you soon! i’m complaining too. dd1 was up all night coughing and i feel like she probably shouldn’t go to school today😑. dd2 is also starting with the coughing as well. h added rounding to the the weekend schedule at some point on top of being on call sunday which means he’ll for sure be gone all morning saturday and sunday. i might cry. this week has been crap

mintyblueair and polson sending you good health wishes. Minty after 5 days of fever I'd probably call the doctor TBH. It sounds viral if its going around but still, I'd prob still want the doc to weigh in. There is a stomach bug going around Lou's daycare--we all already got it and have recovered over a week ago, but Lou had baaaad diarrhea last night and this morning. She is still eating and happy and no vomiting, so I brought her to school with extra diaper cream and some mild foods. I am really hoping its a fluke and not the bug again.

Sorry everyone is dealing with sick kids. Everyone here has been sick for about two weeks. I think the kids are at the tail-end of it but DH still feels horrible and I’m just getting sick and I’m so not thrilled.
Also - I feel bad being a continual downer in this thread but since you all have been so great, I thought I would update everyone on my status. After calling my OB on Monday and again on Tuesday, the nurse finally called back yesterday. I basically just pushed and said I wanted in early because of my background and the meds I was on. Well they got me in yesterday for an ultrasound and I got the news I expected - I’m measuring about a week behind - more like 5 weeks when I should be 6.5 weeks. My OB made me get another beta and wants to wait one more week just to be sure but it was pretty definitive for me and she seemed to agree. It sucks but it’s the news I expected so I was prepared to hear it.
So it looks like we now have some decisions to make because I don’t think we can try again naturally and if that fails, do the IVF cycle when we need to (my RE is out of state and we only have one month we can justify going to our hometown for the two weeks I’ll need to be there for a retrieval - if we miss that month, we’d have to wait another six months). So I think we just may have to resign ourselves to doing IVF again which really sucks even though it’s entirely expected.

calendula he has an appointment this morning. My dad is a doctor so I tend to hold off on appointments and get his input first, but to be safe I'm taking him today. And he still has a fever this morning. I'm anxious to find out what's going on. Also, my fingers are crossed that Lou's diarrhea was a one off 🤞

In an effort to get out of my funk, I booked a hotel room in the mountains for tonight and drove up with DS for a ski weekend. Was SO EXCITED.
We rose at the crack of dawn, drove up, skied all morning. Ate lunch. Next thing I know I'm on the ground vomiting behind the lift shed. Ski patrol helped get DS off the mountain while I cleaned up.
Now I'm stuck in a shitty motel room 3 hours from home, feeling like death, with a 6 year old.
I. Cannot. Get. A. Break.

So on top of spiking fevers in the 102 to 104 range the last two days, L is also getting his first bottom molar! This seems so soon.

We took DS to the doctor yesterday and he suspected ear infection. We're watching and waiting to treat only if it gets worse.
Then the baby got a fever this afternoon so MH took her to a walk-in. They said ear infection for her, too, so she started antibiotics tonight. I'm new to this whole thing and it worries me. DS's doctor said most ear infections are caused by viruses and antibiotics don't work for those, so I'm feeling weird about giving them to N. I'm hoping she doesn't get to much gastro upset.

Poor kiddos. I think the ear infection thing is very much a split in the medical community. My own doc prescribes antibiotics. See how your DD responds to them and maybe go from there. If you're worried about gi upset start her on a probiotic and start diaper cream now. Hope they are better soon!
